A Female Forensic Doctor Transmigrates into a Book as the Female Supporting Character

Chapter 46 Murderer

46 Murderer

Yin Tao felt that Feng Jing had a clear mind. Because of what he said, Yin Tao also had many new thoughts on the case.

“So you came here today to see if Sun Peng is a clear suspect?”

Hearing Yin Tao’s words, Feng Jing nodded and parked the car in Wen An District.

The door of the crime scene had already been sealed by police tape. Feng Jing had already asked his superior’s clearance, so he walked into the crime scene again without hesitation.

Feng Jing’s goal was very clear. After entering the room, he walked straight into Sun Peng’s bedroom.

“Isn’t this a little too messy?” The last time Yin Tao came to the crime scene, she had mainly checked the living room where the body parts were found. She didn’t expect Sun Peng’s bedroom to be so messy.

“Did someone break into the house and commit robbery? This house has obviously been ransacked.” Yin Tao was wearing gloves and shoe covers, as she was worried that she would destroy the crime scene, but there was really no place to land.

“It’s normal for a single man in his thirties to have a messy room,” Feng Jing said disapprovingly.

Yin Tao looked at Feng Jing in puzzlement. She couldn’t help but wonder if the handsome and clean cut Feng Jing would also stay in a room like this.

Feng Jing noticed the change in Yin Tao’s expression. He coughed lightly and explained, “I have a slight obsessive-compulsive disorder. My room will not be like this.”

Yin Tao didn’t expect that Feng Jing would be able to read her mind. She smiled in embarrassment and followed him to inspect the messy daily necessities on the floor.

“There were only Sun Peng’s fingerprints in the bedroom. But his fingerprints were not found in the living room and washroom at all. Someone had deliberately cleaned up the crime scene.”

Feng Jing looked at the cautious Yin Tao and reminded her, “Don’t worry too much. Sun Peng’s murderer shouldn’t have entered this bedroom.”

Yin Tao nodded and looked at the bookshelf behind Feng Jing. Although Sun Peng was a little sloppy, there were many types of books on the bookshelf.

Yin Tao’s gaze stopped at a book with a black cover. She pointed at the book on the bookshelf and said to Feng Jing, “Captain Feng, look at the book on the leftmost side of the second row.”

Feng Jing followed Yin Tao’s finger and took a thick novel off the bookshelf.

“Mystery Case 307.” Feng Jing read the title of the book slowly. This book was the one with a plot similar to the dismemberment case.

“Sun Peng is a reader of this book. Could he really be the murderer of the dismemberment case?” Yin Tao felt that if Sun Peng was one of the murderers, then many things could be explained.

“If he’s the murderer, then it would be reasonable for those body parts from before to exist. Then the person who killed Sun Peng should have been the last to attack him. He even threw part of his body into the plastic bucket.”

Feng Jing also felt that it was more likely that Sun Peng was the murderer. However, since he didn’t usually like to go out, it was unclear how he went about committing the murders.

“Let’s go back to the police station. Next, focus on investigating Sun Peng’s life trajectory for the past five months. Everyone he came into contact with is a suspect.” Feng Jing said and walked out of the bedroom. Yin Tao hurriedly followed and accidentally stepped on the messy water bottles on the floor.

Yin Tao wasn’t worried about hurting herself, but it wouldn’t be good if she fell here and messed things up. She struggled with all her might, worried that she would hit the items behind her.

However, she directly bumped into Feng Jing’s back. Feng Jing almost lost his balance and staggered a few steps before catching Yin Tao who was behind him.

Being held in Feng Jing’s arms, Yin Tao wished she could dig a hole in the ground and hide inside it. Anyone would feel embarrassed if they were thrown at someone like a ball. Yin Tao was hesitating about what to say when she heard Feng Jing’s steady voice coming from above her.

“Are you alright?” Feng Jing helped Yin Tao up.

“Thank you, I’m fine.” Yin Tao forced a smile and squeezed out a sentence from between her teeth.

Feng Jing was amused when he saw her awkward look. A smile appeared on his face. “You have to find someone stronger when you find a boyfriend in the future. Otherwise, he really won’t be able to pick you up.”

Feng Jing ignored Yin Tao’s red face and walked out of the door.

“Blame others for being weak!” Yin Tao muttered angrily. When she realized that Feng Jing had stopped moving, she didn’t dare to make another sound.

The two of them returned to the police station together. Feng Jing went to the team to investigate Sun Peng’s details while Yin Tao returned to the autopsy lab.

“Little Yin, I heard from Officer Ji that you went out with Captain Feng?” Su Ning was still sorting out the report when he saw Yin Tao return.

“Yes, I returned to the crime scene with Captain Feng.” Yin Tao walked over and looked at the report in Su Ning’s hand. She realized that it was still the autopsy report from the dismemberment case.

“Master, did we miss anything in this case?”
