A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 678: Blood Bone Altar

Chapter 678: Chapter 678: Blood Bone Altar

"Discovered?"

This was only to be expected. On the vast Bloodbone Shura Altar, originally there was only this Shadow Redsilk alone. This place was the fundamental ground for the Red Flymen to resist the reign of the Green Flymen royalty.

As the rulers of the world, the Green Flymen royalty undoubtedly controlled the depths of the world. Since the Shadow Redsilk’s headquarters was only manned by himself, it indicated that he certainly possessed the capital to oppose the world’s depths.

"Heh heh, discovered, have we?"

Just as the scarlet sandy head under Green Truth Mask had rolled out the Magnetism Star Core, intending to deliver a probing destructive strike against the Shadow Redsilk first, a pile of bones a dozen meters before Green began to float upwards. A pool of grayish marrow quietly shaped into the image of a wizard.

Dressed in a shimmering Water Element Wizard Robe, wearing a Bullhorn Skeleton Mask. The gray flame at the top of the Skeletal Magic Staff burned fiercely, echoing in the blue-gray elemental eyes beneath the mask.

This was a Third-Level Great Sorcerer who had descended upon the Flymen world, vying for a place in the Seven-Ring Holy Tower Rankings alongside many Second-Level Wizards.

Err...

Green was taken aback, "Not discovered me?"

"The Bloodbone Altar that bears the unparalleled Shura Fire, with one million seventy-nine thousand four hundred forty-eight bones, floats on this boundless dark river. I had seen you the moment you approached the altar from the river’s bottom,"

The deep voice of Shadow Redsilk resonated; around the island-like grand altar, the bone-chilling dark river roared tumultuously. Then, one after another, the heads of black water elemental giant serpents slowly rose from all sides, each over thirty meters tall, exuding eerie frostiness.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven—seven dark blackwater serpents, towering and looking down at the Mysterious Wizard.

Leading a group of red flymen believers, Akdez was astonished, rising into the air with a "whoosh," a layer of blood-red Shura Fire ignited on the Skeletal Scepter.

"Sect Hierarch, the Bloodbone Shura Altar has been exposed. Should we summon other elders for reinforcement?"

From the White Bone Throne, Shadow Redsilk gazed down on the hundred or so green flymen captive slaves Akdez had brought, intoning deeply, "We just need 502 more sacrificial bones to complete the Bloodbone Altar, summoning the true supreme Shura divine power to cleanse all sins and let all flymen live peacefully in this world."

"Sacrifice them all!"

Shadow Redsilk’s words cast the green flymen captive slaves into despair, as the first-level and second-level red flymen believers following Akdez rose and slaughtered these green flymen.

The altar, beneath the bodies of these green flymen, sprouted soft bones that entwined and dragged the corpses into the altar.

Shadow Redsilk displayed a compassionate sorrow, mournfully declaring, "For the bright future of the Flymen world, your sacrifice is worthwhile. Rest in peace."

At the altar’s peak behind Shadow Redsilk, the Shura Fire suddenly flared a bit more, dancing and twisting.

Roar, roar, roar, roar, roar...

The thirty-meter heads of the dark blackwater serpents extending from the water all emitted beastly roars, not expected of serpents, lunging at the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer from all directions, their frost chilling to the bone.

On the twenty-meter tall Thunder Beast, the Third-Level Great Sorcerer looked around, his gaze heavy beneath the bullhorn skeleton.

The Thunder Beast had three heads in total — a lion and a tiger on either side, their presence wild, and a solidified bull’s head skull in the middle, with twin Flames of Soul alight in its eye sockets.

Whoosh!

A lightning light sword shot from the lion’s mouth, piercing through one dark blackwater serpent head. The lightning neck suddenly extended, and the tiger’s mouth bit onto another serpent neck.

The bull’s head skull bellowed, releasing an invisible shockwave with a "bang," blasting a dark blackwater serpent into scattered water droplets.

Though three dark serpents were scattered by the Thunder Beast, three more serpent heads bit onto it. The other serpent head snapped rapidly towards the top of the bullhorn skeleton mask of the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer.

Buzz!

Using Elemental Teleport to travel over a hundred meters, the floating bullhorn skeleton mask Demon-Hunting Sorcerer swiftly chanted arcane incantations, his wizard robe billowing, looking down from above at the dark river spawning dark blackwater serpents. The gray-flame Skeletal Magic Staff gave a mere wave.

An uncountable number of gray lights flashed and accurately pierced through the remaining four dark blackwater serpents, causing them to dissipate.

Witnessing this scene, the eyes of Shadow Redsilk on the White Bone Throne lit up!

"Truly deserving of the wizard whom the Green Flymen have long worshiped, such power. Even among elders who have grasped some Shura Fire power, except for Diergas, others would find it difficult to match this wizard. But, heh... heh..."

After dispersing the seven dark serpents, the bullhorn skeleton-head Demon-Hunting Sorcerer had just taken a relieved breath when suddenly, from the boundless dark river, came a series of splashing sounds, "bang," "bang," "bang," "bang," "bang," and the seven dark blackwater serpents reappeared.

As if with immortal bodies, the seven dark blackwater serpents charged once more.

"Hiss..."

Beneath the bullhorn skeleton mask, the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer gasped for breath.

"Is it an energy circulation magic array effect, or a high-purity energy infusion? No, it should be..."

The Thunder Beast was torn apart, followed by the serpent heads retreating mid-air and rushing forward, accompanied by more red flymen.

Confronted by attacks from hundreds of red flymen in all directions, and seven dark blackwater serpents, the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer exhibited combat instinct and survival instinct to the fullest.

For a continuous quarter of an hourglass, nearly thirty red flymen were slain, yet the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer showed signs of fatigue. Magic power was no longer abundant, and he had to evade the assaults of the seven dark blackwater serpents continuously, for even if one was dispersed, another rapidly formed in the boundless dark river.

"Wizard, since you’ve seen this place, you shall remain here forever!"

The Skeletal Scepter of Akdez burst into Shura Fire, rushing forth with several cooperative red flymen, aiming for a one-hit kill.

"This can’t continue, let’s give it a try!"

Beneath the bullhorn skeleton mask, the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer made up his mind.

"Bind Domain!"

The transparent Water Element Wizard Robe suddenly transformed into mist, enveloping Akdez and the red flymen encircling the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer in a nearly hundred-meter-wide colossal water sphere, temporarily imprisoning them within.

Even two of the dark blackwater serpents’ heads were "stuck," their bodies dragging at the heads to break free from the enormous water sphere but adhered like glue, unable to detach.

Immediately, the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer flickered and darted towards the Shadow Redsilk on the White Bone Throne. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, please go to to vote for recommendations and monthly votes. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m. to read.)
