A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 723: Pulverized to Dust

Chapter 723: Chapter 723: Pulverized to Dust

The Barbarian Giant sneered.

Long-term battles with the Dark Realm Dark Sorcerers, on one hand, have seen Dark Sorcerers study extensive terrifying Dark Witchcraft targeting Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, but on the other hand, Demon-Hunting Sorcerers are also adept at hunting Dark Sorcerers!

The technique of Severing the Life Casket Threads was specifically developed by Celonia from long battles with Dark Sorcerers, a cunning witchcraft to prevent the sly Dark Sorcerers from escaping.

Knowing that the Dark Sorcerer within the Defense Shield could no longer escape, the towering Barbarian Giant, over ten meters high, sneered as he cast his gaze toward the Synthetic Leviathan beneath him, which was over two hundred meters long.

The unique knowledge of Synthetic Beasts possessed by Dark Sorcerers was worthy of Green’s serious study.

With this in mind, the Barbarian Giant’s hands began to generate numerous bone armor, a partial control with Ivory Armament. After unlocking higher layers of Wild Instinct, Green found himself even more adept at controlling the lower levels of Wild Instinct.

Rumble, rumble, rumble!

The two robust arms began to pound the Synthetic Leviathan beneath him, with seawater roiling and blood splattering everywhere. Despite the massive size of this Synthetic Leviathan, it was too clumsy to fight against the Barbarian Giant on its back, who seemed determined to tear it apart.

The Barbarian Giant transformed by Green opening Level 3 of Wild Instinct indeed possessed this capability!

Roaring...

The Synthetic Leviathan let out a long bellow before diving into the swirling waves, with the Barbarian Giant clinging on and descending to the seafloor as well. After some churned waves, the surface of the sea weirdly calmed down.

Above the sea, Celonia and the Dark Sorcerer holding the Threads of the Life Casket Source both stared at the surface, with flickering Soul Fire in the eyes of the Dark Sorcerer who was evidently contemplating other means of survival, hoping for some accident to befall the Barbarian Giant under the sea.

Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle...

Quite a while later, the sea began to bubble up with enormous bubbles. As both the Dark Sorcerer and Celonia focused intensely, the blue seawater began to exude large patches of dark red blood. With a "splash," a giant whale carcass floated to the surface.

"Caw, caw, caw, caw, if you enjoy eating, then have more. This is a synthetic beast refined from high-purity Black Demon Blood. It’s good for your evolution."

Xiao Ba said to the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird.

On the floating whale carcass, not only was there a Barbarian Giant covered in blood like a hellish demon titan, but also a Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab and an Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird. This combination was why Green managed to kill this massive beast entirely in such a short time, leaving no chance for it to flee.

Chatter, chatter...

Roar, roar, roar!

The eighty-one heads of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird took turns feasting, occasionally raising a couple of heads to roar deafeningly, in response to Xiao Ba.

The Barbarian Giant raised his head, opened a massive fanged mouth, and asked Celonia, "How much time until his Magic Backlash?"

This Dark Sorcerer had already deployed the Life Casket Escape Witchcraft, but Celonia had caught the Threads of the Life Casket Source and forcibly stopped him. Otherwise, had the sorcerer completed this witchcraft, Celonia might have easily killed him first thing.

However, forcibly halting this witchcraft, though the consequences were not as severe as Green being unable to use magic powers for hundreds of years after breaking his Sealing Skill, did result in some degree of Magic Backlash, beyond the Dark Sorcerer’s control to stop as he wished.

"Heh, he’s already under Magic Backlash. At most an hourglass’s time, he’ll have no magic power left."

Celonia continued to grip the Threads of Life Casket Source, while coldly smirking at the Dark Sorcerer inside the black Defense Shield.

This time fortune favored them. Such a powerful Dark Sorcerer invading the Wizard Continent was met head-on by a top-tier mighty Demon-Hunting Sorcerer!

Just below the water, the Dark Sorcerer, who had been hiding within the sea, was sensed by the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab’s perception and understanding, caught and pinched to death, then consumed.

Green hadn’t had the Life Casket for unlocking Level 3 Wild Instinct for long, and maintaining such a state long-term was burdensome. The Defense Shield protecting this Dark Sorcerer was imbued with the essence of the Power of Human Despair, which couldn’t be forcibly broken in a short time.

It would be better to wait for him to completely suffer the Magic Backlash, and let the Defense Shield shatter on its own.

Thus, Green let out a faint breath, then canceled the Wild Instinct Level 3 transformation. Extreme fatigue accompanied by dizziness and weakness made Green sway involuntarily, then a nearby Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab extended a claw to support him.

"Xiao Ba, collect this Synthetic Leviathan. This specimen varies significantly from the Synthetic Beasts of Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, but it’s a good research specimen, worth studying thoroughly in the future."

"Caw, caw, caw, got it!"

At this moment, the dimensional rift opened by Green and Xiao Ba was no longer as minuscule as it was during his First-Level Wizard days. Together, they effortlessly tore open a dimensional gap over a hundred meters wide, following which the Synthetic Leviathan’s carcass, along with the surrounding seawater, slid into the dimensional rift.

Inside the black Defense Shield, the Power of Human Despair mist hovered thinly around, with despair written all over the face of the Level-3 Dark Sorcerer. The skeleton-like, skeletal face was indistinguishable between male and female, and after the lifeless despair, came hideous wrath.

"If I’m going to die, then..."

Boom!

The Dark Sorcerer hadn’t finished his "if-fish-dies-net-breaks" threat when he got swallowed up in a glaring red light shooting directly up to the sky, while a hundred meters away, Celonia grasping the Threads of Life Casket Source gasped. Multiple layers of Defense Shield blocked the oncoming heat wave, as she briefly glanced towards the weakened Green leaning against the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab’s claw.

A blood-colored tongue swirled, then a radiant pearl was swallowed into its abdomen.

After the terrifying impact wave dissipated gradually, the sky returned to calm. Only that Dark Sorcerer was never seen again, evidently blasted to smithereens by Green’s recent Magnetism Star Core strike.

"Caw, caw, caw, caw, thought they could threaten us with ’if-fish-dies-net-breaks’, initially intended to let the Holy Tower Rules judge and earn more bounty, but now even the judgment is spared, just vanish with Master Eight already, caw, caw, caw, well done!"

Celonia swallowed quietly; it seemed this Honored Great Demon Hunting Sorcerer from the remote Seven-Ring Holy Tower was no less powerful than the few Great Sorcerers she had seen in the deepest parts of the Second-Ring Holy Tower.

But instead of preparing to advance to Fourth-Level Wizard and establish a Sorcerer’s Tower Magic Source in the depth of the Holy Tower, what was this person doing here?

These folks were all powerhouses as if they were monsters, no wonder they held the ability to shift the war landscape in the Demon-Hunting Expedition World!

Whiz, whiz, whiz, whiz...

In the distant direction, five Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards who hadn’t passed the Demon-Hunting Merit Assessment returned, four wearing expressions of disappointment, clearly unaware of the Supervisory Examiner trailing secretly during the assessment for their first time.

Only one was somewhat angry, saying: "Master, the intel clearly indicated hunting a Second-level Dark Sorcerer, yet here were not only several Second-level Dark Sorcerers but also a Level-3 Dark Sorcerer. I demand the Demon-Hunting Merit reconsider the assessment!"

"Hmph!"

Celonia snorted coldly: "Want accurate intel? How did you earn your Third-Level Medal of Honor?" (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets at ReadNovelFull.com. Your support is my ultimate motivation. Mobile users please read at m..)
