A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 742: Exiles (Part 3)

Chapter 742: Chapter 742: Exiles (Part 3)

In an instant, both Goyou and the powerful bounty hunter from the Abyssal Underworld focused their gaze on Green.

Green remained unfazed, his expression cold as he stood at the only entrance passage.

Over a decade, Green had confirmed from this Abyssal Rainbow Rooster that its distant friend from the Abyss had indeed discovered a Nameless Ancient Demon relic through a few Ancient Demon Servant friends it once contacted!

In ancient times, even though Antonio sacrificed himself as the fulcrum of the Lever of Destiny, leveraging the Wizard World to escape the incessant attacks of the Abyssal World to arrive in this distant cluster of worlds, the war where the Ancient Wizards reclaimed control of the Wizard World from the Phaseless Bone Demons was not at all smooth sailing.

The fierce battles between the Wizard Continent and the Abyssal Underworld were extremely chaotic, with many Stigma Sorcerers disappearing without a trace, including some Nameless Ancient Demons with powerful physiques, difficult to kill in a short time, who were sealed but forgotten amidst the chaos.

Low-level Nameless Ancient Demons, after such prolonged sealing, have long since died naturally, while most of the high-level Nameless Ancient Demons were hunted down and exterminated following years of searching by the World Guardians in the Wizard World.

Yet even so, it cannot be ruled out that a very few Nameless Ancient Demons, undetected, were unsealed in desolate regions by the Ancient Demon Servants and hide like rats in this endless Abyssal Underworld, or fell into slumber, blending among Wizards and biding their time.

Of course, such legendary events were unlikely to happen to Green.

Green merely hoped to find a Nameless Ancient Demon relic that hadn’t been confiscated by the Deep Bond Holy Tower through the Ancient Demon Servants, acquiring several ancient demon remains to assist him in uncovering the Life Code Fracture and control over genetic information fields he needed.

The importance of such a clue meant Green couldn’t let these two people in front of him sever it!

Behind him was the exit of this underground space. Green stood his ground, his eyes coldly watching the two, emanating the unrestrained killing intent belonging to a Demonic Hunter Dark Wizard.

Though the situation was far from Goyou’s perfect expectations, it temporarily freed him from the attacks of the powerful bounty hunter, his mind unstable, hoping the two would battle to death or severe injury, giving him a chance.

Upon the twenty-plus meter Abyssal Dragon, the bounty hunter wore a bullhorn metal helmet, revealing only a pair of blood-red eyes. Holding a flexible blood spear, clad in relatively bulky and solid black armor, the dragon beneath him let out low roars.

"You are not the Abyssal King! Are you an Elemental Wizard from the Wizard Continent?"

Conflicts often arose among bounty hunters, seeking to seize each other’s spoils, and many died beyond the Abyssal Holy Tower Rules in mutual slaughter.

Bounty hunting is often chosen by powerful Wizards nearing a thousand consecutive wins and qualifying to challenge the Abyssal King, seeking to hone themselves to advance further in a high-risk profession!

The training here was more controlled than foreign domain wars, as beings above level three rarely appeared.

It was also more challenging because every creature here, besides oneself, could harbor deep-seated hostility, including other bounty hunters.

Bounty Wizards of the Abyss, akin to Elemental Wizards of the Wizard Continent, all trained relentlessly to further themselves, striving to reach their peak, pursuing the deepest parts of the Holy Tower or the Abyss, achieving Stigmata.

Green said nothing, lightly kicking off the ground to leave a footprint, his body turning into a shadow as he charged toward the bounty hunter.

Clang!

The bounty hunter’s flexible blood spear met Green with a metallic friction sound as it clashed with a blue purple greatsword Green casually found.

"Ooh..."

The bounty hunter’s basic physique was obviously somewhat inferior to Green’s, his weapon vibrating enough to weaken his arm. However, the Abyssal Dragon beneath him suddenly roared, spewing forth black abyssal fire intermingled with a swirling mass of black ash.

Boom!

Just managing to dodge the abyssal fire, a black dragon claw suddenly slashed at Green, but evading deftly again, the stone slab floor shattered with a "boom," the terrifying power was clearly evident.

"Damn it, son, get out here and fight, someone’s bullying your dad!"

Xiao Ba yelled, flicking a spatial fluctuation with his claw as the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird emerged from a space rift, its forty-plus-meter form twice the size of the Abyssal Dragon, with eighty-five heads howling to tear at the Abyssal Dragon.

Roar!

The much smaller Abyssal Dragon showed some alarm, retreating a few steps with wings spread, opening its mouth wide to unleash abyssal fire. For a brief moment, a few heads of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird were charred and melted by the demon fire.

However, the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird seemed unaffected, its massive body still charging at the Abyssal Dragon. The areas melted by the abyssal fire wriggled, regenerating at an unbelievable speed thanks to its super-speed regeneration talent, with new heads emerging one by one.

Following this, the melee battle commenced. The bounty hunter reluctantly detached from his Abyssal Dragon, glanced somewhat worriedly at it, and directly initiated the First Layer Transformation of Wild Instinct. From his back grew a massive black beetle-like shell, with transparent wings fluttering, he darted toward Green, aiming for a swift victory.

"First Layer of Wild Instinct, activate!"

His body elongated, black scales covered his body, exuding agility and wildness. Green engaged the bounty hunter in fierce battle, intending as all Wild Body-Refining Witches do, to gain breakthroughs amidst the dance of life and death.

A fraction of an hourglass later.

The often suppressed bounty hunter glanced at his struggling Abyssal Dragon in the other battleground, impatiently roaring to activate the Second Layer Transformation of Wild Instinct, his body abruptly expanding to about five meters, a layer of black shell spreading over him.

"Heh heh heh heh, just in time! Second Layer of Wild Instinct, activate!"

Crack, crack, crack, crack...

Pearly ivory armored barbs sprouted from Green’s body, his physique swelling to about three meters, with a thick brutality resembling a Bone Spike Creature. Although smaller than his opponent, he was more refined, brandishing his blue purple greatsword toward the foe once more.

Snap!

Suddenly, a crisp metal-breaking sound echoed as the tremendous power of the battle was too much for the casually found weapon Green held to withstand, causing it to snap.

With a "ding," the bounty hunter’s spear pierced Green’s chest.

On the brink of life and death, Green instinctively broke into a cold sweat all over, and struggling to the extreme, he found a bone spike in hand to use as a weapon, holding it off.

"Whew, this feeling of life and death struggle is exactly the breakthrough that a Wild Body-Refining Witch constantly pursues..." (To be continued.
