Chapter 754 - 753: Chaos and Unease
Chapter 754: Chapter 753: Chaos and Unease
Hmm!?
Instinctively, Green swung the Sword of Malice at the tentacle coiling around his right foot.
With a sharp cry, the tentacle was sliced off, half of it still coiled on Green’s foot while the other half quickly burrowed into the ground, spraying a large amount of foul-smelling green liquid from the wound.
Ignoring the escaping assailant, the Sword of Malice quickly danced to his side, slicing an attacking tentacle monster’s shadow into two. With a swift motion of his other hand, he grabbed an incoming Abyssal Creature.
The Abyssal Creature resembled a small octopus in form, with outstanding jumping and hiding abilities. Its leap just now aimed for Green’s face. Now, caught in Green’s hand, a dozen or so powerful tentacles struggled fiercely, trying to break Green’s grip.
"Evil Krei?"
Evil Krei, an Abyssal Creature long extinct in the Wizarding World as recorded in ancient texts, possessed terrifying parasitic abilities. Much like a Nightmare Creature, once it parasitized a host, the host would become nothing but a puppet under the control of the Evil Krei.
"Sure enough, this is a sealed Ancient Battlefield, still harboring such creatures found only in old records."
Pa!
Suddenly, under the cover of several Evil Krei, the one that had initially attacked Green and lost a tentacle landed on his back. A syringe-like appendage spun, attempting to penetrate Green’s black scales, its shrill howling piercing the mind.
After the Sword of Malice slew the other attacking Evil Krei, Green retained the one in his hand as a precious specimen. With a cold smile, three "puff, puff, puff" sounds echoed as three bone spikes pierced the Evil Krei on his back, oozing green liquid, and the tentacles tightly coiled around Green began to loosen.
Retracting the bone spikes, the Evil Krei fell to the ground.
Compared to these terrifying parasitic creatures, Green, as an Elemental Wizard, seemed the true demon, coldly laughing as he injected large doses of anesthetic and coagulant into the struggling Evil Krei, turning it into a specimen for future study.
After dealing with the sudden assault, Green only then noticed the giant skull, over ten meters high, in front of him, with Abyssal Fireflies floating around inside, their glow resembling ferocious ghostly faces, incredibly realistic.
Floating half a meter off the ground, Green flew over to the side of the giant skull and looked inside through an eye socket.
Startled, the ghostly-faced fireflies flew out of the skull, vanishing into the distance.
"Hmm? Quite a discovery!"
Delighted, Green flew into the skull, picking up a Crystal Core.
The owner of this skull must have been as powerful as Green himself at one time, thus the concentrated Crystal Core remains intact to this day. Such powerful beings are formidable in any small world, yet, unfortunately, in the great war between two Civilization Worlds, they became just one among countless cannon fodder, an insignificant, nameless character.
Playing with the Crystal Core in his hand, Green grimaced and sighed.
"Unfortunately, this Crystal Core has been through such a long time, it’s now just an empty shell with all its internal energy depleted, possessing only collectible value."
Roar!
Ka-chunk, ka-chunk, ka-chunk, ka-chunk...
Just then, looking out from the skull’s eye socket, Green saw a three-meter-tall Ghostly Bear Essence and Ironblood Warwolf bellowing as they pursued an Ancient Demon Servant Fiend. This humanoid skeleton, carrying a black scythe, was sprinting rapidly, holding a silver-white bell, an extraordinary Magic Guide Instrument.
"So soon there’s a harvest!?"
Green’s eyes focused on the silver-white bell in the Fiend’s hand, noting its remaining magic guide power was quite unique; only a personal seal remained unresolved, needing a specialized wizard for removal, reminiscent of Green’s past Spy Shadow Falling Star.
Although the main target was the Nameless Ancient Demon remains, a relic whose remaining power might rival a legacy Sorcery Instrument naturally piqued Green’s interest after experiencing the Thousand-Eyed Bright Lamp and Triple-Headed Serpent Protection’s powers. He would not easily let it go.
With a "whoosh," Green too joined the chase.
Clearly, the Golden Pig King, Ghostly Bear Essence, and Ironblood Warwolf likely originated from the same world’s Beastfighting Arena, becoming exiles in the Wizarding World’s Deep Abyss. Although outwardly they appeared aligned with the native lords, the Cyclopean Giant and Bloodthirsty Sword Demon against the Ancient Demon Servant’s group of five, internally there were deeper conflicts. Otherwise, the Cyclopean Giant wouldn’t have secretly warned Green to be cautious of the three.
The Ghostly Bear Essence was clad in golden armor, wielding an exaggeratedly large sword. Its fur was black, its body possessing a semi-transparent, phantom-like ability, pursuing the Fiend while its cold and furious eyes glanced at the suddenly appearing Green.
The Ironblood Warwolf’s palms extended golden claws, one blood-red eye full of bloodlust, while the other was an empty socket. It showed no concern for Green’s involvement, focusing entirely on chasing the Fiend ahead.
Ka-chunk, boom, boom, boom...
Suddenly, the ground ahead of the Fiend trembled violently as a Stone Giant rose from the earth, with Abyssal Demonic Qi converging on it at an astonishing speed.
Yet, before the slow-moving hand of the thirty-meter-tall Stone Giant could descend, the Fiend’s black scythe casually sliced through and continued fleeing without the slightest obstruction.
The Stone Giant tumbled down!
With a "bang," the Ghostly Bear Essence crashed through falling boulders, relentlessly pursuing its target, while the Ironblood Warwolf agilely became a blur, evading all stones and continuing the chase.
At the back of the group, Green’s eyes suddenly narrowed.
Realizing the Fiend’s black scythe’s strike was comparable only to a fully charged strike after opening the Second Layer of Wild Instinct Transformation, yet it was a simple, flowing blow for his opponent, the gap was evident...
"Wah-hahaha, count me in!"
With a hearty laugh, a powerful exile standing behind the Bloodthirsty Sword Demon joined the chase.
This exile was a humanoid creature, standing only one meter tall, with dark skin, legs resembling those of a kangaroo, and four arms naturally equipped with four long knives, glistening with sharp, cold light—a species evolved for slaughter!
The fleeing Fiend in front couldn’t help but turn its head, the Soul Fire flickering in its skeletal eye sockets, an unspoken curse understood by all.
This unfortunate Ancient Demon Servant Fiend found itself amidst many local lordly exiles, both unlucky and perhaps fortunate enough to stumble across an ancient exquisite sorcery instrument.
"No, there’s no chance."
After a while, Green abruptly halted, realizing his chances of winning the precious exquisite sorcery instrument were too slim. Wasting time there was pointless, better to seek other opportunities; a damaged half ancient ritual site nearby piqued his interest.
The altar soared over thirty meters high, with blood stains on its damaged stone blocks, inscribed with vague Ancient Wizard Language, perhaps a control point on the Ancient Battlefield.
Hmm!?
The instinctive danger sense honed by years of struggle between life and death in the Abyss, Green reacted with near-perfect reflexes, activating the Second Layer of Wild Instinct, his body soaring to three meters, unleashing a whirlwind of ferocious power, bone spikes erupting from every part.
Yet, as Green activated the Second Layer of Wild Instinct Transformation, he looked down incredulously at a blood-stained hand piercing through his chest.
In disbelieving shock, Green roared, swinging the Sword of Malice at the hand while bone spikes on his back wreathed with the Source of Darkness and Power of the Flame Soul "buzzing" as they shot out.
"Squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak-squeak!"
A familiar laugh, as Green turned his head abruptly, seeing the black rat revealing two white teeth, its expression stiff, body enveloped in an astonishing amount of Abyssal Demonic Qi, coldly laughing, one hand stained with Green’s blood.
At this moment, its gaze toward Green carried a mysterious eeriness, as if viewing its prey, causing an inexplicable anxiety in Green.
"You?"
The laughing black rat suddenly halted its laughter.
The wound on Green’s chest was healing at an incredible rate under the Metamorphosis Technique, while a piece of Essence of Snow Line temporarily sealed the invading Ancient Abyssal Demonic Qi within.
