Chapter 1350: Stygian Rain of Calamity's Descent

Massive rumbling sounds filled every corner of the World's End River Region. However, the source was not thunder—it was the sound of waves churning.

It was World's End River water.

The World's End River was like an apocalyptic dragon, breaking free from the constraints of world space before finally pouring down upon the World's End River Region.

The torrential rain was like ink, emanating a gloomy energy.

When the stygian rain arrived, so too did corruption. It swept across the world along with countless low whispers that spread in tandem with the monsoon-like rains.

This caused a chill to surge through everyone's bodies, and fear filled their hearts.

The most terrifying catastrophe of the World's End River Region had arrived.

Furthermore, it had come in advance.

The previous Stygian Rain of Calamity had only occurred after the expeditions to the Treasure Domain had ended.

At this point, the World's End River Region was completely sealed, preventing anything from entering or exiting.

Those who had planned to take the opportunity to loot some treasures in the Treasure Domain before escaping out of the World's End River Region would be sorely disappointed.

This was especially the case for those hunting for treasures only in the outer regions. They were extremely unlucky as the Stygian Rain of Calamity had come much too early and unexpectedly, blotting out their vision and perception.

Their expressions were filled with worry and shock.

As the inky rainwater condensed on the ground, twisted figures began to emerge.

Many True Devils of all shapes and sizes emanating boundless amounts of corruption began to take form.

These True Devil Others were even more frightening than normal ones. The corruption emanating from them was much denser and colder as these were Others who had snuck in from the Shadow world.

Thus, their despairing cries filled the World's End River Region.

Whoo! Whoo!

Alarms began to blare in each city, and their defensive wards blazed to life with boundless amounts of energy, transforming into layers of barriers.

The experts in the cities began to prepare themselves in anticipation of powerful enemies. Corruption-detecting treasures covered every inch of every human dwelling.

This was the most dangerous time in the World's End River Region, and everyone prayed that the Other Tide would not target their cities.

Furthermore, whenever the Stygian Rain of Calamity fell, it wasn't rare to see a city or two be overrun and decimated by the likes of the Others.

After all, not a single one within those cities would survive.

……

Right outside the Treasure Domain.

Li Jingzhe, Qin Jiujie, Zhu Yuan, and Zhao Zong, four Kings, had solemn expressions as they watched the descending Stygian Rain of Calamity.

"Did the Faceless Other King incite the Stygian Rain of Calamity to descend ahead of time?" Divine Tiger King Zhao Zong asked.

Qin Jiujie shook his head. "How could that be possible? It requires one to shake the World's End River. That is something that even the four of us combined would be unable to do."

Li Jingzhe fell silent for a few moments before replying, "The Faceless Other King might not be able to, but it doesn't mean the Origin Reversion Institute can't. They have been secretly conspiring in the World's End River Region without us noticing, so causing the Stygian Rain of Calamity to fall early isn’t impossible. This happened right after I detected the presence of the Faceless Other King. It would be too naive of us to think that these two incidents are unrelated. I think it was afraid that news of this would be leaked out to our Heavenly Emperor powers, causing them to dispatch even more Kings here. At that point in time, their plans would fail."

Zhu Yuan's expression turned gloomy. "The Stygian Rain of Calamity has sealed off the World's End River Region. We can't send any news out anymore. It also means that we can’t get any reinforcements to assist us."

Zhao Zong frowned. "I don't think we have to be too worried. Things will be fine with the four of us present even if a Grand Other King appears. So long as we can hold out through the Stygian Rain of Calamity, the Heavenly Emperor powers will send reinforcements and we can tide over this situation."

Zhu Yuan nodded in agreement and then said righteously, "The situation we are in is unclear, so we need to set aside past grudges and cooperate sincerely if we wish to overcome this."

It was clear his words were directed towards Qin Jiujie and Li Jingzhe.

Li Jingzhe coolly replied, "So long as no one is plotting anything in the dark, you have my word that I will act in favor of the greater good."

Qin Jiujie coldly snorted before he said, "Then I hope that Lineage Chief Jingzhe has the strength to turn the tides."

Zhu Yuan nodded as he glanced at the inky, black rain. "We will take one direction each, and if any Other Kings appear, we'll send a message and join hands to destroy it. I hope that a Devil King doesn’t emerge from this Stygian Rain of Calamity," he said with a sigh.

A Devil King was at the very least at the Triple Crowned King Stage. If an Other Devil King appeared, they would have to pay a significant price to beat it even if they joined hands. Normally speaking, King Stage Others weren’t uncommon, but Triple Crowned Devil Kings were rarely seen. In these last hundreds of years, the number of sightings could be counted on one hand.

Li Jingzhe's gaze then turned towards the depths of the Treasure Domain. The golden talisman was preventing him from understanding what was going on inside. However, he had a hunch that the crux of the plot lay in this area. The Treasure Domain was undoubtedly playing a key role in what was going to happen.

"Li Luo, you have to be very careful." A look of worry surfaced on his face.

With that, the four Kings vanished into the void, returning to their seats in their cities to fend off the Stygian Rain of Calamity.

Peace finally came to the area outside the Treasure Domain. Only the inky rain continued to pour down unceasingly.

As the rain pooled, countless Others emerged and then disappeared into the shadows as they bounded away.

……

A tiny, black figure was speeding through a forest outside the Treasure Domain like a bolt of lightning. Its destination was the Treasure Domain.

It was an inky black snake, and its eyes flickered with spirituality.

As it bathed in the gloomy rain that struck fear in the hearts of experts, it felt a trace of relief.

It loved being in such an environment.

Numerous strange Others kept surfacing in every direction, but they completely ignored the black snake. They could sense that it was surging with corruption as well.

The Others would even let out joyful laughs when they passed by the snake.

The black snake completely ignored them. It moved so quickly, it resembled a black beam of light piercing through the curtain of rain. Eventually, it arrived at its destination and entered the Treasure Domain without hesitation.

The sounds of the rain continued to rumble violently.

When the Stygian Rain falls, thousands of Others march.

Such a statement had indeed come to life.
