Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1660: A Page From Ancient Times

"Sealing object?"

The Pill Saint's explanation shocked everyone who had been looking at the black coffin anxiously. Her words caused them to snap back to attention as the thing inside the coffin had never personally made a move. It always had to wait for the coffin lid to barely crack open before its power was allowed to come out.

From the looks of things, this coffin did seem like a sealing object. Were the extinction resonance and the Origin of Absolute Corruption inside?

Who else but the Legendary Sect Master could seal these two terrifying entities in a coffin for such a long period of time? Perhaps the coffin was the final measure the Sect Master had taken with all of his efforts.

Otherwise, when he fell, there would be no one in the world who could deal with the corrupted extinction resonance. No, perhaps it was more accurate to say the transformed Origin of Absolute Corruption.

"The Origin Reversion Institution has stirred up trouble for countless years and has even gone to such great lengths to start the next Origin Reversion War. Could it be that the ultimate goal is to break the seal on that coffin?" asked Heavenly Emperor Zhang.

"That is indeed a possibility," Heavenly Emperor Jiang replied with a nod.

At the same time, he focused his attention on the black coffin as his gaze turned fearful. The information revealed by the Pill Saint had dispelled a lot of the mysteries surrounding the Sacred Void Resonance Sect.

If the black coffin truly did contain the quasi tenth-grade extinction resonance that had fused with the Origin of Absolute Corruption, then this would be the greatest common enemy the divine continents had ever faced.

If even the Legendary Sect Master was unable to kill it, then the world would surely come to an end if the sealing coffin was broken.

However, a new question popped up in the back of his mind. If the Sect Master had left behind all his resonances, then where was the quasi tenth-grade light resonance? Where had it been hidden? It might very well be the world's final glimmer of hope.

As Heavenly Emperor Jiang was lost in thought, the previously frozen Heavenly Emperor Yin began to let out an indifferent laugh as the white flames in his eye sockets danced with life yet again.

"Rainbow Butterfly, is that your final analysis?"

"Am I wrong? Yin Qingkun, you have consorted with the extinction resonance. The Sect Master would be deeply disappointed in you if he were still around," the Pill Saint coldly replied.

"You are foolish. You feel that you've received a secret mission from the Sect Master, so how could you know that I'm not following a secret order of my own?" Heavenly Emperor Yin retorted.

"The one who gave you the order was not the real Sect Master, but the extinction resonance, which had been corrupted by the Origin of Absolute Corruption!" the Pill Saint said.

"No, on the contrary, the one who gave me the order was the true Sect Master! The one who issued the final order was clearly the victor, and considering how he was the most amazing and perfect individual in the world, he would never have failed! Since he didn't fail, then the final order could only have been given by the real Sect Master and not some extinction resonance nor the Origin of Absolute Corruption.

"Thus, the mission given to me must be completed with all my effort!"

Heavenly Emperor Yin's tone had turned fanatical by the end.

Everyone present started to frown. Heavenly Emperor Yin's train of thought wasn't completely incorrect—the Sect Master was indeed an invincible individual. However, the Origin of Absolute Corruption was equally terrifying. Otherwise, the Sacred Void Resonance Sect wouldn't have been completely destroyed, along with every piece of information about it.

Of course, there was also the possibility that Heavenly Emperor Yin himself had been corrupted...

"You are right about one thing. The black coffin is indeed a seal, and I will do everything to ensure that it is broken, all in order to bring back the Sect Master. Once he fully awakens from the coffin, the chaos in the world will come to an end. A new Sacred Void Resonance Sect will stand tall in this era.

"Rainbow Butterfly, on behalf of our previous friendship, I'd advise you to hand over the Divine Fruit wind resonance. It will help the Sect Master awaken, and we will forgive your wrongdoings if you comply," Heavenly Emperor's Yin boomed in the sky.

The Pill Saint didn't bother replying as she sighed in exhaustion. Heavenly Emperor Yin had clearly been corrupted, falling into the depths of madness. He had clearly lost himself and could no longer communicate normally.

Heavenly Emperor Jiang shook his head as his gaze turned sharp.

"Heavenly Emperor Yin, there's no need to speak further. That black coffin is the largest source of chaos in the world. From today onwards, the ten divine continents' Heavenly Emperors will view the Origin Reversion Institute as our foremost enemy."

In the past, the Heavenly Emperors of the divine continents had always debated over how they should deal with the Origin Reversion Institute. They considered the Shadow World the most important enemy, and even though the Origin Reversion Institute was causing trouble, it was not completely impossible to communicate and negotiate with them. If they were successful and could borrow their strength, this would further bolster their forces.

However, today's revelations had made it clear that such a discussion would never reach such an outcome.

The Pill Saint's secrets were monumental, and Heavenly Emperor Yin and the black coffin would undoubtedly become major concerns for the forces of the divine continents.

Heavenly Emperor Yin didn't seem to mind the idea of becoming the focus of the ten divine continents and gave a shallow smile.

"Heavenly Emperor Jiang, I think the Heavenly Emperors of the divine continents need to first think about how they plan to deal with the Origin Reversion War. The Origin Reversion Institute will leave you alone for now and give you some peace of mind."

With that, the void behind him started to collapse and shrink inward, as though forming a spatial passage that he could retreat into. Now that their plans had already been set in motion, the Origin Reversion Institute merely had to wait quietly for the Heavenly Emperors of the divine continents to struggle against the Shadow World in fights to the death.

When Heavenly Emperor Zhang saw this, he raised his hand in an attempt to stop him. However, Heavenly Emperor Jiang waved his hand, indicating that he should stop. This was because at this moment, an indescribably terrifying pressure had erupted from the Realm Wall. There were countless gigantic faces of devils peeking at them.

Every living creature could feel a looming sense of fear and unease. Dark stars were attempting to pierce through the Realm Wall, to descend upon their lands.

Each and every one of these stars contained terrifying amounts of corruption. However, the truth was that these weren't actually stars—they were Other Dominions! Some of which were Greater Dominions!

The Eight Headed Other Dominion was like child's play when compared to a Greater Dominion. Once they landed on the divine continents, there would undoubtedly be countless wars of annihilation. Who knew just how many lives would be lost?

The biggest issue was that the Heavenly Emperors of the divine continents had to guard their positions in the Nobles' Battlefield, so they were unable to move lightly.

"Heavenly Emperor Jiang, I'll leave this mess for the Academic Federation to deal with," Heavenly Emperor Yin said with a gloomy smile.

The bronze mask landed on top of the black coffin, and the two objects shot away into the depths of the spatial passage, leaving behind a trail of black light and vanishing without a trace.

Just before Heavenly Emperor Yin disappeared, two wisps of stark white flames descended from the skies. One fell upon the hiding Demonic Flame Underworld King, causing the void behind him to rip open so he could escape, shrouded in the white flames.

The other wisp of flame landed within House Luolan's Headquarters.

The entire place was submerged in pitch-black water, and a huge snake emerged from the depths. The flames instantly absorbed all of the inky water as well as the snake.

"Cousin Lingjing!"

When Li Luo saw this, his heart shook. He had never expected that an existence like Heavenly Emperor Yin would bother to bring Li Lingjing away as he retreated.

He rushed forward and attempted to stop that from happening. When he was closer, he caught a glimpse of the snake wrapped in flames. She shook her head, her eyes utterly indifferent.

Li Luo slowly came to a stop. He knew that Li Lingjing didn't want to stay here. His mind was racing; he truly wished to force her to stay, but it wasn't even clear if he had the strength to snatch her out of Heavenly Emperor Yin's hands. Furthermore, if she did remain, she would be too stubborn to give up on the path she had chosen.

In that moment of hesitation, the second clump of flames vanished. Li Luo could only sigh powerlessly.

However, before he could ponder over this, more and more terrifying auras started to appear at the Realm Wall in the sky above.

Clearly, the Grand Devil Kings of the Shadow World were all eyeing the path that would soon be open. They were determined to kick off the Origin Reversion War. This was undoubtedly the worst possible thing that could happen for the ten divine continents.

Heavenly Emperor Zhang turned towards Heavenly Emperor Jiang and grimly said, "Heavenly Emperor Jiang, we have to make preparations for the Origin Reversion War. We must prevent the Greater Dominions from descending, at all costs."

Heavenly Emperor Jiang nodded in agreement as he looked at the Realm Wall that was beginning to open up.

He fell silent for a few moments before replying, "We can only use that method."

Heavenly Emperor Zhang knew what he was referring to and sighed. "However, three Heavenly Emperors are required to activate it."

Heavenly Emperor Jiang then turned towards Li Jingzhe with a smile. "Wouldn't Heavenly Emperor Jingzhe be perfect for this?"

Li Jingzhe calmly replied, "A great tribulation is about to descend, one that nobody will be able to avoid. If there is anything I can help you with, I'll do my best."

He could vaguely guess what Heavenly Emperor Jiang was planning to do.

"Thank you, Heavenly Emperor Jingzhe."

Heavenly Emperor Jiang stretched a hand out to form a single handseal. A moment later, everyone present could hear a series of low and vast whispers echoing out.

In particular, Li Luo could make out two familiar voices—they were from Ancestor Li Jun and Great Ancestor Zhen.

It was only because of their blood ties that he could sense it. What was Heavenly Emperor Jiang trying to do?

Before Li Luo's surprised eyes, motes of mystical light fell, eventually condensing on Heavenly Emperor Jiang's palm, taking the form of an object.

It was... an ancient piece of paper.
