Chapter 1601 The Price Of Doubt

Chapter 1601  The Price Of Doubt

The Old man didn't care about Grey's warnings, he knew Grey was only bluffing and looking for a way to make him not attack him, wasting all his time. The Prince was in danger, he had only about five minutes left or so before his special technique stopped. He will become very vulnerable at that time. Being vulnerable to someone like Grey was the same as getting killed.

Not just that, but the Fourth Prince was also in danger. He doesn't know if the Fourth Prince will be able to escape the danger he was in without his help.

'If I can't catch him in the next minute, I'll let him do as he pleases.'

The Old man came to a decision. Spending too much time with Grey will only be a waste of time, it was best if he went over to the Fourth Prince with Grey chasing after him. If not for the fact that Grey was faster than he is, he would've gone there to attack the people attacking the Fourth Prince already. He doesn't need to worry about Grey, as long as he can get to the Fourth Prince, he is willing to sacrifice himself to make sure the Fourth Prince escapes alive.

The Old man kept on chasing after Grey, and he couldn't help but praise Grey's smartness. Grey might be trying to keep a distance from him, but he was also making sure it was impossible for the Old man to get close to where the Fourth Prince was located. He was moving in the other direction, and whenever the Old man tried to turn around in the Fourth Prince's direction, he would attack.

One minute went by in a flash with the duo in a stalemate. Grey didn't try to fight with the Old man, he knew he couldn't beat the Old man, even though the Old man was injured, he didn't give the Old man any chance to head in the Fourth Prince's direction.

The Old man came to a decision and started heading in the Fourth Prince's direction. This time, he didn't turn his back to Grey, and ensured that he was facing Grey, while retreating in the Fourth Prince's direction.

Grey squinted his eyes when he saw this. He knew the Old man's defense was strong, and without being able to as freely as he wants, there's no way to stop the Old man.

'I don't like these old guys.'

The people who have always proved to be a difficult challenge for Grey have always turned out to be old people who have vast combat experience. Most youngsters would be squashed by him either by his strength or ingenuity. However, the Old man was stronger, and was also very smart. He might've been tricked for a short period, but he quickly came back to his senses before it was too late.

Grey used his space element to appear behind the Old man, this was the only thing he could do. The Old man turned and smiled, he looked at Grey and started his assault.

Grey blocked the attacks and tried to go in another direction, but the Old man only ensured he was facing Grey while heading in the Fourth Prince's direction.

Grey's expression turned ugly, and the Old man could see it. He smiled in satisfaction, he had outsmarted Grey.

….

On the other side.

The Fourth Prince and the others sensed the presence of the Old man getting closer.

"What the hell is he doing?" Klaus asked Reynolds with a worried look on his face.

"I have no idea, but don't worry. He wouldn't come here if he isn't confident." Reynolds replied.

"I know, but why is he bringing that person here? It'll complicate things." Klaus didn't like the fact that Grey was allowing the Old man to get close.

"If you can do a better job, why don't you go and stop him?" The Seventh Prince spoke up from the side with a sarcastic look on his face.

When Klaus heard this, he almost tripped, even though he was flying mid-air. He knew this was Grey replying to him.

"Fuck you!" He yelled at the puppets and continued fighting with them, pretending he didn't hear a word that came out from the Seventh Prince's mouth.

Grey was already in the Second stage of the Sovereign Plane, yet he couldn't stop whoever it was, even after so long. He might be proud and cocky, but he knew his limits. At the moment, anyone Grey couldn't handle, there's no way he could take the person on alone, unless he has some help.

The Fourth Prince could sense his ray of hope getting closer and closer. All he needed to do was to make sure he held on and he would be able to escape. Once he leaves this place, his brother as well as his subordinates will face the wrath of the entire continent.

Within a few seconds, the sight of the Old man appeared before them. Grey could be seen standing calmly opposite the Old man.

The Fourth Prince was elated, he was about to speak when he noticed something odd. The Old man was staring at Grey with a look of disbelief.

"Old Kerr, come help me, why are you standing there?" He yelled at the Old man.

The Old man looked down at him, he tried to move, but he felt his entire body slowly start to descend. It wasn't within his control.

"Kid, what did you do?" He asked as his body descended slowly.

"I warned you, using your essence will only aggravate it. You just didn't listen." Grey replied calmly as he followed him down.

The Fourth Prince stopped fighting, staring at the scene unfolding before his eyes. Neither Grey nor Old man Kerr were fighting, and he could subtly hear what they were saying.

"You tricked me?" The Old man was relatively calm, even with the current state of his body.

"No, on the contrary, it is you who chose not to believe me." Grey shook his head.
