Chapter 1676: Forcing The Hands Of The Snow Leopards

"Technically, yes."

Grey's response angered the Tribe Leader even more, it couldn't believe there was such a human who didn't know how to act. The human has been surrounded, no way to run, yet he was still running his mouth confidently.

"Human, return what you stole and I'll leave your corpse intact." The Tribe Leader said as it tried to reign in its anger.

"What treasure?" Grey asked with a confused expression.

"Don't play dumb with me human, you took the treasure when you came to my tribe." The Tribe Leader was starting to lose its temper.

"What treasure? I was with you all through my time there. Did you see me take any treasure?" Grey asked, still with his confused expression.

The Tribe Leader's eyes twitched when it heard Grey's words, to be honest, it indeed didn't see Grey take any treasure, but the only person that came to their tribe was Grey, so it's only natural that he is the only one who can be blamed.

"You worked with someone else to steal the treasure. Hand it over, I won't say it again." The Tribe Leader growled.

"I genuinely don't know what you're talking about." Grey said, he paused and asked, "Is it like an orb and has a small cat inside?"

The eyes of the Tribe Leader widened as it nodded, "Yes, yes, that's it. Where did you see it?"

"I haven't seen anything like that in my life." Grey replied.

Grey's reply almost made the Tribe Leader explode from exasperation. Grey just perfectly described the treasure to him, yet he was saying he has never seen such a treasure in his life, even a newborn can't be fooled by these words.

"What do you take me for?!" The Tribe Leader roared.

It was at its limit, and Grey wasn't giving it much of an option.

"I'll kill you, I'll skin you alive you filthy beast!" The Tribe Leader roared and attacked. It was very fast, and within a second, it was already in front of Grey, swirling its claws at him.

Grey smiled and his eyes locked with the Tribe Leader, the next thing, his figure changed from that of a human to a Snow Leopard.

The Tribe Leader wasn't able to pause, and its swiping claw hit the new figure present there, a Snow Leopard in the Early stages of the Eighth Rank. From what Grey could tell, it hasn't been long this one crossed to the Eighth Rank. An attack from the Tribe Leader who has lost control isn't something this Snow Leopard could take. It slammed into the ground, injured.

The Tribe Leader froze in the same spot, it couldn't comprehend what just happened. Not just it, all the Snow Leopards that surrounded Grey were left flabbergasted. They didn't understand how Grey turned into a Snow Leopard, not just turning into one, but one that was so familiar to all of them. They could swear that they've spent years with the Snow Leopard the Tribe Leader just attacked.

"You didn't tell me you wanted to kill your fellow tribesmen." Grey's voice came from the distance, a little sense of mockery could be found in it.

The Snow Leopards turned to see Grey standing unscathed, even after being supposedly attacked by the Tribe Leader. One of them looked at the spot Grey was standing, and then around, that was when it hit it, Grey switched places with the Snow Leopard.

The Tribe Leader felt its body shake from shock, "You can switch places with others?"

"Technically, yes." Grey's words reminded the Tribe Leader of how he responded to one of the questions it asked him when they surrounded him.

The Tribe Leader didn't make any more moves, it looked at Grey, unsure of what to do. With the appearance of Grey's new ability, it knew that there was no way they could fight against someone like that. It would most likely seriously hurt all those around it before it could even touch Grey's shirt.

Grey looked at the Tribe Leader who wasn't making any moves, he couldn't help but smile, he knew why it couldn't move, and looking at the other Snow Leopards around, he had an evil grin.

"Why are you disheartened? Do you know if I can't use the move again? I mean, it does expend a lot of essence." Grey smiled as he looked at the Tribe Leader with a playful smile.

The Tribe Leader wanted to make a move, but seeing the others around it and those who went to check on the injured Leopard, it paused.

"Human, that treasure is very important to us. Return it and I'll let the matter slide." It said to Grey.

Grey looked at it and asked, "Did you see me take anything?"

His question infuriated all the Snow Leopards present as they roared, with the exception of the injured one.

The Snow Leopard he fought with when he first entered the tribe, attacked out of anger.

Grey smiled, and just when the attack was about to land, his figure just to that of the already injured Snow Leopard.

Boom!

The Snow Leopard wasn't able to stop on time and its attack struck the injured Snow Leopard.

"Are you planning to kill one of your own?" Grey asked in disdain, he looked at the other Snow Leopards and said, "See how they treat you guys?"

The Tribe Leader, as well as the Snow Leopard who fought with him before the Tribe Leader felt like they were about to explode from anger. It was clear that Grey didn't want to engage them in a fight, but against multiple opponents, he was superior. They couldn't attack him due to the fear of attacking those with them. How could just one person be this hard to deal with?

"Human, that treasure is valuable to us, please return it." The Tribe Leader calmed itself and pleaded.

"It's not that I don't want to give it to you, I don't know what it is." Grey replied.

"What do you mean you don't know what it is?!" The Mid stage Leopard Grey fought with before asked in anger.

"You're talking about an orb with a figure of a cat inside, correct?" Grey asked.

The Tribe Leader and the other Snow Leopards nodded.

"Like I said, I've never seen that orb in my life." Grey added after they nodded.

He described what they were searching for, but then told them he has never seen that thing in his life.

To be honest, he learnt how to mess with people from Klaus, and since he was bored, he wanted to see just how these Snow Leopards would react, and to be honest, he was quite impressed. Most humans would've tried every means they could to kill him since he was messing with them. But due to the safety of the others, the Snow Leopards couldn't do anything to him.

Grey studied the Snow Leopards and shook his head.

'They're better than most humans.' He thought to himself. He has been in such positions with humans and they always want to make sure they kill him at all costs, so he knew that most humans in such positions wouldn't care about the wellbeing of some unimportant people.

"Since I hold your kind in high esteem, I'll stop switching places with others." Grey said to them.

However, he added something else before they could attack….

"That is if you believe me."

His creepy smile at the end of his statement froze the Snow Leopards in their spots, none of them dared to make a move. The two times Grey has been attacked, he changed positions with just one figure, the same Snow Leopard. The Tribe Leader's attack injured it, same as the other attack. Given its current state, any other attack and it will certainly die.

Grey's words are vague, there's a good chance that he might switch places when he's attacked. And the moment he chances places with that Leopard, it means it will die, and purely under their attacks. Grey could be blamed, but they know that he never attacked anyone.

Grey saw them and knew that his words and actions had affected them significantly, a smile appeared on his face as he said, "Why don't you guys let me leave? It's not like you want to attack me."

The Snow Leopards looked at him, but they didn't say anything, they couldn't attack him. Attacking him might put the already injured Snow Leopard in serious danger. At least they could still heal it at the moment, but any further will endanger it.
