Chapter 1860: Why Are You After Me?
Chapter 1860: Why Are You After Me?
Grey, who was by the side, chuckled before taking a step forward. Just as his foot touched the ground, his figure vanished.
One of the two Ninth stage Sovereigns from the Twilight Faction suddenly turned around in a hurry and struck a palm out.
Grey’s figure appeared in the area the Ninth stage Sovereign attacked, but he was able to easily dodge the attack before launching a blow of his own.
“You’re no match for me.” Grey’s calm voice rang out as his blow struck the Ninth stage Sovereign, sending the latter flying and slamming into the walls of one of the buildings around.
Bang!
Seeing a Ninth stage Sovereign being sent flying in such a casual manner stunned those present, from their perspective, the Ninth stage Sovereign from the Twilight Faction did not even put up any resistance. If not for the fact that they could tell from Young Master Idris’ expression that there was seemingly an enmity between both parties, they would have thought they were playing around.
“Huh?”
The Ninth stage Sovereign by Helena’s let out a surprised gasp, drawing her attention. Helena gave an inquisitive look to him and he explained the reason for his shock.
“Impossible! How can he only be in the Seventh stage?” Helena exclaimed. She just watched Grey easily deal with a Ninth stage Sovereign and she believed he was at least a Ninth stage Sovereign himself, and since her cultivation stage was lower than his own, she was unable to determine his current cultivation since he has only made a move once.
“I think he’s the one they’ve been searching for these past months. He fits the description I received.” The Ninth stage Sovereign added.
The Twilight Faction has been searching for Grey over the past three months or so, and being a Ninth stage Sovereign from a Faction that is just below the Twilight Faction, he is privy to information most people had no knowledge of. Most Ninth stage Sovereigns were alerted when even the Peak Sovereigns of the Twilight Faction were deployed. At first they thought they were searching for an expert that should at least be a Peak Sovereign. However, after further investigations, they found out that it was surprisingly a Seventh stage young man.
With how easy it was for Grey to deal with that Ninth stage Sovereign, he suddenly understood why Peak Sovereigns were deployed. Only with objectively greater strength can one dominate their opponent in the manner Grey just did, and only Peak Sovereigns will be able to do something like this to a Ninth stage Sovereign.
This Ninth stage Sovereign was not the only one thinking about Grey’s frightening strength. The other Ninth stage Sovereign from the Twilight Faction was beyond stunned by Grey’s strength. Never in his life did he think he would ever feel helpless against someone with a weaker cultivation base. Unlike the others, he was the closest to them and saw how easy it was for Grey to evade and attack his companion.
‘There’s no way we can beat him.’ Even if the other Ninth stage Sovereigns joined them, Grey’s ability to disappear made it impossible to keep him in one place. When he first heard of Grey, he only knew of how difficult he was to deal with, but he never knew he was this powerful. Although news of him killing a few Ninth stage Sovereigns has circulated, they attributed it to him being able to catch these people off guard with his strange movement technique.
Facing Grey now, this Ninth stage Sovereign realized they were in danger. He rushed to Young Master Idris’ side, vigilantly staring at Grey.
After sending the Ninth stage Sovereign flying, Grey did not attack immediately, rather, he turned his focus to Young Master Idris, saying offhandedly, “I’m glad I found someone like you. Your status must be quite high in your Faction, correct?”
Young Master Idris did not answer his question, his eyes glued to the building the Ninth stage Sovereign crashed into. He could not believe what he just witnessed. Right before his eyes a Seventh stage Sovereign just sent a Ninth stage Sovereign flying like he was a baby before him. This is not something that should be possible.
Grey did not expect Young Master Idris to suddenly become lost in thought and could not help but snap his fingers to draw Young Master Idris’ attention to himself.
“What are you all standing there for? Surround him!” Young Master Idris looked at the Ninth stage Sovereign beside Helena with a commanding gaze.
“My business is with the Twilight Faction alone, you guys can take whatever you want and leave.” Grey waved his hand to the others. He was not really interested in fighting with these people, nor did he want the Twilight Faction to use their reputation to force them into fighting him, hence the reason he showed how strong he was from the beginning.
Just as he expected, the other Forces present did not show any reaction to Young Master Idris’ words, after all, this was an opposition that took out a Ninth stage Sovereign like he was a defenseless baby.
“Young Master Idris, we are done here. My Scarlet Faction will let you have this treasure this time.” While saying this, Helena bowed and turned around to leave with her group. Even though
Grey clearly told them to take what they wanted, she still did not dare to try to take it. If anyone from the Twilight Faction were to survive this ordeal, then they would not be able to come up with a good explanation. As long as they did not take the treasure, the Twilight Faction will not be able to find trouble with them even if they want to.
At the time Grey sent the Ninth stage Sovereign flying, those in the scorching building rushed out. They were told not to move or they would die, but hearing the sound of fighting outside, they all rushed out to see what was happening. Even those from the Twilight Faction had rushed to where those from their Faction were gathered. Facing Grey, they did not try to speak, although there were a few who looked at him with haughty expressions.
The other Forces followed Helena’s lead, leaving this place while saying the same thing. Young Master Idris wanted to shout, but with Grey watching him like a predator staring at his prey, he did not try to stop them, only gritting his teeth while plotting his revenge. While the other Forces left, the Ninth stage Sovereign Grey sent flying returned. His aura was clearly weaker than what it used to be.
Grey watched the other Forces leave with no intention of stopping them, his only interest was the Twilight Faction. Although he never wanted to stop the other Forces from obtaining this treasure, there was nothing he could do. Looking at Young Master Idris he said, “I’ve always been curious why your Faction became so dead set on getting me. I’m certain it’s not because of those Magical Beasts, nor what I took from that place, so why?”
This matter has confused him greatly, although he felt maybe Elder Everard is quite powerful, he did not believe he will be able to command the entire Faction. Having assistance from one or two Peak Sovereigns was fine, but having the entire Faction move was shocking to think of.
Young Master Idris looked at Grey, not expecting him to ask such a question, but he did not say a word.
“My patience is limited, if you do not tell me what I want, I will kill all of you. I don’t believe I won’t be able to find out from someone else.” Grey said casually.
Hearing the threat, Young Master Idris gritted his teeth and asked, “Do you think we are afraid of you?”
Pa!
The sound of a slap resounded in the area and Grey, who was previously standing a few meters away was suddenly standing before Young Master Idris.
“My patience is limited, if you don’t tell me what I want the next time, you will lose your life.” Grey’s voice was cold and emotionless, scaring those with weaker cultivation, even the two Ninth stage Sovereigns felt a chill in their spines when they heard this.
Young Master Idris never expected Grey would slap him in such a straightforward manner, before he could even flare up, he noticed the killing intent that was locked on him, knowing fully well it was from Grey. Fear gripped him and he shut his mouth.
Grey looked at the two Ninth stage Sovereigns with a raised brow.
“The Faction Leader is the one who issued the order.” One of the Ninth stage Sovereigns answered with a sigh. There was no point hiding the truth from Grey. They’ve already seen how powerful he was, if he decided to kill, there’s a possibility none of them will be able to escape from this place today.
