Chapter 1865: Preparing To Leave

Inside the sphere made from the disk, Grey did not attack anyone any further, retreating a few meters. The two Ninth stage Sovereigns he ambushed died immediately, adding Young Master Idris who was killed by his own Grandfather, he felt a bit more relieved, at least the trios death helped him vent a little of the grievances he had been feeling over the past few months.

Looking at the Old man who still had a shocked expression on his face he said coldly, “This is only a warning. I know that I can not kill someone like you, but what about the rest, can you promise to protect them?”

Hearing Grey’s threat, the surviving Twilight Faction members turned pale from fright, although they did not know how Grey managed to appear in their midst, they saw how easy it was for him to kill two Ninth stage Sovereigns. None of them present was stronger than the duo he just killed like ants.

The Old man’s face turned dark, “How dare you threaten their lives in my presence?”

Although the Old man said this, he did not attack, rather, he signaled for the surviving members of the Twilight Faction to retreat.

“Don’t worry, with me here, nothing will happen to you.” The Old man reassured the surviving members of the Twilight Faction.

Hearing these words, a few of the members of the Twilight Faction did not feel at peace, rather, they were a little more agitated to leave this place. This was because this was the same way the Old man reassured Young Master Idris and the two Ninth stage Sovereigns, now they were dead.

Grey saw his hostages trying to retreat and let out a cold life, his figure was about to disappear when he sensed danger. As soon as he felt this a smile formed on his face and his figure took a sudden change.

The Old man’s attack was about to strike when it suddenly dissipated, another attack rang out and it was from within the sphere, but this time, a figure slammed into the glowing light made by the sphere..

The Old man appeared inside the sphere and snickered, “You’re still too young if you think you can trick me.”

Grey did not show shock, rather, he expected the Old man to be prepared. Listening to the Old man’s words, Grey could not help but grin menacingly.

Seeing Grey’s grin, alarm bells rang in the heart of tnt Old man and without hesitation he pushed his hands towards Grey in a bid to kill him before he unleashes whatever he had planned. A multicolored orb appeared in front of Grey at the same time the Old man stretched out his hand, this orb was made up from four colors. This was not the only thing, Grey’s figure also changed again.

Three more multicolored orbs appeared in three other positions in the sphere.

While Grey was switching places and leaving his fusion orb, the Old man reacted quickly and gave chase, just when Grey left the last orb, the Old man got to him. Without hesitation Grey switched places with the Sovereign from the Twilight Faction he originally changed places with when the Old man initially attacked. Everything happened very quickly, from Grey taking out the first fusion orb to the last one and also switching places with this person took less than a second. If not for his space domain that increased how fast he could make use of his space element, he would have never been able to achieve this.

All four fusion orbs exploded at almost the same time.

As the fusion orbs exploded, Grey did not try to wait to see the outcome, throwing two more four colored fusion orbs into the blast, he turned around and bolted. His aim was to at least leave the Old man in a sorry state before leaving, and seeing him get caught in the blast of four fusion orbs, as well as two new ones that exploded almost immediately it entered the blast site, he was sure the Old man would at least be injured. Such an injury will not impede the Old man, however, being unable to save these people will definitely affect him.

Some seconds later, the explosion died down.

The figure of the Old man could be seen floating midair with his disheveled hair blowing in the wind. Standing there, he could not see a single person around him, neither Grey nor those from the Twilight Faction he just promised he would save.

“How?” He almost could not believe what just happened. Although he did not feel danger from Grey’s fusion orb, he also felt a slight threat from it as if it could kill him. Not just that, but the power it unleashed is almost equal to a powerful Ninth stage Sovereign. On normal occasions, he had no issues dealing with four Ninth stage Sovereigns, but this situation was a bit different. With these weaker people around, the chances of them getting killed from the impact of the attack is very easy. He tried to chase after Grey as soon as the explosion rang out, but he was faced with two more of those orbs, so he had to stop.

The Old man wanted to chase after Grey but his expression turned gloomier. The short delay from the two orbs gave Grey the head start, not just that, but he could not even sense which direction Grey headed after leaving which should be impossible given it has only been a few seconds since Grey left.

While the Old man was thinking of how to track Grey down, Grey was a few tens of kilometers away, almost a hundred kilometers even. He did not even try to go back and meet up with Cormac, knowing how dangerous it was for him to return there. Luckily, Void knew the place where he was hiding and could go retrieve him later.

Finding a deep craven, Grey looked for a good hiding place and dug a cave in the walls that he covered up after getting inside. He was used to creating such caves to help hide from people know.

After getting into the cave, he sighed with some irritation. He did not expect that his last days in this secret world would be spent either hiding or fighting with these experts. As much as he did not mind fighting with the Peak Sovereigns in this world, he had to ensure that he did not have too much contact with them due to being an outsider. Once these people become aware there is a chance to leave this world into another world, they might want to do the same thing the Gnomes are doing right now.

“I should leave this place after taking the next core.”

If not for the fact that he had already promised Cormac he would help their Tribe, he would have decided to head for the exit immediately after this battle. The reason he did not want to stay any longer is because his battle with the Old man has exposed most of his abilities, and with the Old man’s speed, as long as he is prepared, the chances of him being able to capture Grey alone is actually quite high. The battle today did not go the Old man’s way because most of the abilities Grey displayed took him by surprise, and the last minute where he decided to show his switch technique turned the entire direction of the battle. Even with this, the Old man still managed to not repeat the mistake of striking someone from the Twilight Faction which proved that with a little more time, he would have been able to deal with Grey with ease.

Grey knew this just as much as the Old man, hence the reason he decided to unleash his fusion orb in their midst and escape while the Old man was trying to save the others. The possibility of the Old man also leaving them for dead came to his head, that was why he threw two more fusion orbs in that direction. Unknown to him, his fear was valid and if he did not throw in those two more fusion orbs, then the Old man might have been able to stop him from leaving. Although he had other means to escape, he would have to face more attacks from Old man which was not something he wanted. The Old man was too strong.

Grey waited an entire day before sending Void out to bring Cormac over. He wanted to leave this world as soon as possible, and once he fulfilled his promise to Cormac, hw would be able to leave without any second thoughts.

It took Void about a day or so for him to bring Cormac over, apparently a lot of people from the Twilight Faction were in the area and they had to be very careful so as not to arouse any suspicions.
