Chapter 1923: The Weakest?

Chapter 1923: The Weakest?

The Gnome was shocked by the sudden change of his darkness domain. This was the first time he was experiencing something like this, so he was not just shocked, but also very worried. The reason for his worry was because he tried to remove his domain, only to discover to his horror that he could not reclaim it again.

Klaus looked at the Gnome with a playful smile, “I froze your domain, what, surprised?”

The Gnome could see the obvious pride in Klaus’ face, but he could not comprehend how what Klaus did was possible. He has seen when an Elementalist’s domain is destroyed, and although it could be used again, it would lose most of its power and would need some time to regain full strength. This was the reason even though domains are powerful, most Elementalists prefer to only use it when they know they have full confidence it can not be destroyed by the other party or if they had no choice.

He had seen Klaus’ attacks and knew it was not strong enough to destroy his domain hence he used it, he never expected Klaus would be able to actually freeze his domain. There was no way to cancel the domain if it was frozen.

The frozen domain was not the Gnome’s only issue, he was within the domain’s coverage and he could feel that his movements were slowing down, an effect of his domain and himself getting frozen.

The Gnome tried to retreat, only to discover no matter how hard he tried, he could not move out of the domain. It was almost as if his own domain had become a prison for himself.

Klaus, on the other hand, was moving freely, like a fish in water. He floated over to the Gnome who could not move, chuckling he said, “I love it when my enemies underestimate me, it makes my work more satisfying.”

“Don’t come close to me!”

“No! Get away!”

On Chris’ side, his opponent did not even have the chance to bring out his domain. Chris had the light element, the darkness element’s bane, there was no way the Gnome would even think of using his domain as it would be making things harder for himself. There was also Chris’ speed, before the Gnome could even move, he had been sent crashing to the ground. He did not have the chance to stand up before he was continuously battered by Chris’ attacks.

The Gnome felt like crying but no tears came out, he wanted to escape, even going as far as taking the risk of bringing out his Puppet even with Grey not far away. Even with his Puppet, he noticed he could not fight back against Chris.

Chris was determined to kill the Gnome before help came, he heard the conversation of the Gnomes and knew they were going to call a Peak Sovereign Gnome over, even with his current strength, he was not confident he could handle a Peak Sovereign Gnome on his own, even with Grey’s help, he did not think it would be easy. Knowing a Peak Sovereign Gnome might come any moment from now, he wanted to make sure he had at least taken care of the Gnome he was fighting with.

The Gnome’s Puppet blocked most of Chris’ attacks, before it was destroyed in the end. The Gnome wanted to escape, to his dismay, no matter how much he tried to run, he could not outrun Chris. Chris not only had multiple elements, his main element was the light element, making him a Light Elementalist as well. A Light Elementalist who is even two stages below a Gnome could easily overpower them if they were strong enough, much less someone like Chris who was in the same cultivation stage as the Gnome.

The Gnome knew all he needed to do was survive for a minute or two and help would come, so he did all he could to survive.

Chris also knew help was coming, and it was not for him but for the Gnome, so if he did not take out his opponent as soon as he could, he would not be able to again.

The Gnome focused on defending, not trying to even attack. The moment his Puppet was destroyed, he placed all his focus on defending and evading, ensuring he kept his life until help came.

An array appeared above it, striking with precision. Chris did not try to use his other elements, other than the fact that his light element was his main element, it was also what was most effective against Gnomes, so he only used it. The inscription he made only shot out attacks made from the light element.

The Gnome could barely keep up with Chris’ normal attacks, the moment his light elemental inscription appeared, he could barely dodge a single attack. In a matter of seconds his figure was battered. Covered in blood, he wanted to try to reason with Chris.

“Hey, can…”

Boom!

“Shut up!” Chris did not want to hear anything the Gnome had to say, attacking with another poweful strike. If the Gnome was the one with the advantage, he would not only be dead, he would become a Puppet as well. Now that the Gnome knew he could not win, he was trying to negotiate with him. This is something he was all too familiar with.

“Wait!” The Gnome panicked and tried to evade the attack, only to see Chris standing behind him. Gritting his teeth, he roared and threw a punch in Chris’ direction, hoping he would be able to force him back.

His attack did not faze Chris, who looked at him with a cold gaze. Moving slightly to the side, he dodged the attack, thrusting his outstretched straightened hand into the chest of the Gnome. His hand passed through the chest of the Gnome, appearing on the other side of Gnome’s body covered in blood.

The Gnome’s eyes widened when he felt the hand on his body, looking down, he noticed he could not see Chris’ elbow, which meant it was in his body. He wanted to speak, only for blood to start dripping from his mouth.

“Y…”

Chris twisted his hand which impaled the body of the Gnome, muttering with hatred, “Die!”

The Gnome wanted to say another word, unfortunately only blood came out from his mouth before this vision started to fade. A tear drop slid down his face, he did not want to die, he did not think he would die in the world of a lesser Race. Looking at Chris’ emotionless face, he felt a tinge of regret. If he had known, he would have never come here in the first place. It was already too late for regret, his life had come to an end, in the hands of someone he thought he would turn into a Puppet.

This Gnome was not one of the ones Grey and Chris found here when they came, instead, he was one of the ones who came to help. If he had not come to help, he would not have lost his life. The Gnome soon stopped breathing, regret evident on his face.

After killing his opponent, Chris did not relax, looking in the direction of Klaus, with the mind of going over to help. His eyes nearly popped out of his head when he noticed Grey, Klaus, and Void were all looking in his direction in worry.

‘Where are their opponents?’

This was the only question in Chris’ head, his battle did not even take a minute, yet Grey and the others were no longer fighting. He thought their opponents ran away, but as he looked around, he found three fresh corpses, corpses that looked identical to the other three Gnomes in the Ninth stage.

‘Did help come?’ Chris was taken aback. He was too focused on his opponent and could not take the time to observe his surroundings, so he did not know what happened on the other side. It has barely been a minute, so he did not think Grey and the others would be done with their opponents yet. Even if Grey had killed his opponent, Klaus and Void were definitely not as strong as Grey, so there was no way they would be able to deal with their opponents in such a short time.

Chris flew to their side, before asking, “Did someone come to help?”

His question brought out confused expressions from the trio, even Void wore a confused expression.

Their expressions told him all he needed to know, help did not come, rather, he was the last to deal with his opponent.

Slightly embarrassed, he asked with a serious expression, “Since you’re done, what is the portal still doing open?”

Grey, Klaus, and Void did not have an answer to his question, taking advantage of that, he ordered, “Quickly, handle the portal while I block them.”

There was no one in sight that was coming in their direction.
