Chapter 1925: If You Can't Fight, Scram

Chapter 1925: If You Can’t Fight, Scram

Grey did not know why the Gnome was interested in him, nor did he really care. If his opponent had been a Half God Plane Gnome, he would have not even come here in the first place, a Peak Sovereign on the other hand was something he could still handle. He had wanted to test his strength against a Peak Sovereign again, the last time he faced Elder Pondwyn, he was barely able to hold him back from escaping, and that took a lot of effort from him. This was the perfect opportunity for him to test his strength against a Peak Sovereign again.

The Gnome noticed the fighting intent in Grey’s eyes and could not help but feel a little startled, this was the first time he was seeing an Eighth stage Sovereign looking at a Peak Sovereign without fear and full of fighting spirit.

“Interesting, guess I’ll have to break your spirit first.”

Saying this, the Gnome stretched his hand forward, and it was as if the region around Grey was solidified as he felt an invisible hand grabbing him. Feeling the might of the hand, Grey roared and his body expanded as he used his Dragon transformation, making scales appear on his now larger body.

The Gnome’s grip was broken and Grey was able to free himself with ease.

‘Amazing.’ The Gnome’s eyes glowed brilliantly as if he was staring at a rare specimen. Grey being able to undergo such a transformation was not something he expected. This further increased his interest in the former as he wanted to make sure he took him with him.

He took a step forward, and his figure disappeared.

Grey, who was standing at the entrance of the opening, noticed the Gnome standing in front of him with a calm expression. The Gnome attacked once again, this time, the restriction on Grey was even greater. It was as if as the Gnome got closer to him, his ability to move was greatly inhibited. He noticed a spike in the wind essence around him and knew it was what the Gnome was using to restrain him.

Finding it hard to move, Grey knew he should not stay within the Gnome’s range. Taking a step back, he retreated, dodging the palm strike of the Gnome.

The Gnome had a look of surprise when Grey dodged the attack, not thinking much about it, he took another step, vanishing from Grey’s view once again.

From the short exchange, Grey could already tell the Gnome like close combat. Without hesitation, his gravitational force field was employed, surrounding a ten meters radius of himself. As soon as the gravitational force field was used, he also amplified it with his earth element.

The figure of the Gnome appeared once again, and Grey was able to see him move clearly now compared to before.

The Gnome did not try to attack, feeling the strange change in gravity, he noticed he was not as fast as he used to be. He took a glance at Grey, unable to hide the praise in his eyes. He was someone who was impressed by geniuses, one of the reasons he found Grey interesting and wanted to take him with him.

While the Gnome was trying to get accustomed to the change in gravity, Grey took advantage of the opportunity and unleashed an attack.

A bolt of lightning flashed through the air, and the short distance between himself and the Gnome meant the attack struck instantaneously.

The Gnome was caught off-guard by the strike, getting hit by the lightning. Although he was caught unaware, he still reacted in time, shielding his body with the darkness element, he blocked the lightning bolt before a wind blade was sent in Grey’s direction.

Grey had the advantage in terms of speed, and his gravitational force field slowed down the wind blade, giving him enough time to evade it.

Seeing how easy it was for Grey to deal with his attack, the Gnome snorted coldly and his aura changed. Now, Grey sensed just how terrifying the aura of a Peak Sovereign was, even though he had interacted with several Peak Sovereigns and even battled a few, compared to this Gnome, the rest seemed to be lacking. It was as if the Gnome was on another level.

Void took action at this time, spitting out a large fireball in the direction of the Gnome.

The Gnome knew staying in the range of Grey’s gravitational force field would hamper his speed, so he retreated from the control of the gravitational force field, chased by the fireball Void sent his way. As the fireball got close, he stretched his right arm forward, pushing forward slightly, a gooey black substance appeared, covering the fireball and snuffing it out.

Grey took a step forward, drawing closer to the Gnome. He teleported to the Gnome’s blindspot while the Gnome was dealing with Void’s attack and struck.

The Gnome did not panic, turning around when a gust of wind blew around him, pushing away Grey’s lightning attack. Void made a move as well, striking with the lightning element, but the Gnome dealt with all their blows carefully with little to no stress. It was evident that even though the duo looked to have the advantage, they were not able to even touch the tip of the Gnome’s clothes, much less harm him.

The duo increased their attacks, with Void using his spatial distortion technique while Grey used his dimensional slash.

The Gnome’s expression turned serious at this moment, he knew these attacks were not as easy to deal with as the previous ones. He felt frustrated and annoyed that he had not been able to even attack since the duo started their attacks. This was not how he expected things to turn out, which irritated him, now seeing that the duo were taking things further and tried to use stronger attacks, he could no longer contain himself.

“Enough!” Filled with humiliation he managed to deal with the duo’s attacks before forcing them back.

Grey and Void wanted to continue their attacks when the Gnome squinted his eyes and said, “So it’s you, good thing I didn’t take out my Puppet.”

“Since you already know my identity, there’s no need to delay any further, scram from this place and I’ll consider sparing your life.” Grey said with an aloft expression.

The Gnome’s face turned sour, this was the first time in a long time someone in the Eighth stage was disrespecting him. Given his status in the Gnome World, other than the Half God Plane experts, he did not answer to anyone else, so being spoken to in such a condescending manner by a child no less enraged him.

“Good, a sharp tongue will not get you far in…”

“If you don’t want to scram then fight, pig.” Grey cursed. He could tell that this Gnome was always calm, so even though himself and Void were using their number advantage, the Gnome was able to keep up with them. Since the Gnome was a rational individual even with the pressure of facing two opponents, he decided to see if he could change the mood of the Gnome by cursing and speaking rudely to him. This was something he learned from Klaus, and an opponent who loses their composure is usually easy to deal with, especially one that was as powerful as this Gnome.

Hearing Grey call him a pig after cutting him short further enraged the Gnome, killing intent oozing from his body.

He was about to attack when he suddenly noticed something strange, turning his gaze to the portal, he saw the small black Cat doing something to it.

Rushing in the direction of the portal, he threw a punch, “Get away from there!”

Void acted like he did not see or hear the Gnome as he continued with his task. Grey appeared before him, blocking the palm strike of the Gnome. The strike forced him to take a few steps back, his blood boiling from the impact.

The Gnome wanted to advance so he could stop Void, but faced with Grey who was like an undying cockroach, he started to further lose his calm. The portal can not be blocked, if blocked, they would be in serious trouble. He knew of the presence of the Half God Plane Elementalists who were fighting with his companions, and their only hope of winning was with the fact that they could get reinforcement in a short time, unlike the humans who could not get any help. At the moment, a Half God Plane Gnome was preparing to use the portal to come through and help the others. So if the portal was sealed or destroyed, there would be no way for help to pass through.

His attacks became more vicious, yet he was not able to take Grey down. His eyes grew colder and colder as he said, “Since you do not appreciate this Old man’s kindness, then I will take your life.”
