Chapter 1962: Unsightly View

Grey was a little uncomfortable getting stared at like that, moving closer to his Teacher, he whispered, “Who is that?”

Chris looked in the direction of Grey’s gaze before saying, “Her identity is quite special. Her brother is that expert.”

“The same one that sealed the portal with his life?” Grey asked in shock. He never expected that someone related to the expert would be alive. Thinking about the procedure Chris spoke of, he realized it was not out of place. Since they could keep themselves alive for thousands of years, it was possible for someone related to that expert to still be alive. The only reason he found it strange was given how long it has been. It was one thing knowing the Faction still existed, knowing someone directly related to him was still alive came as a shock to him.

Chris nodded. He too had the same reaction as Grey when he found out about her identity some years ago, so he did not find his reaction out of place.

After calming himself, Grey asked again, “She has been giving me an odd look. Did you offend her?”

Hearing Grey’s question, Chris’s expression darkened as he lightly smacked the back of Grey’s head, “Little brat, I’m not like your group who go around provoking people.”

Grey wore a pitiful expression, thinking to himself, ‘Impossible!’

His Teacher was greatly feared during his time with Lunar Academy. In fact, he was confident the reason the Royal Family did not mess with them before their trip to the Trial Land was purely due to Chris’s presence. It was only after Chris disappeared did the Royal Family start showing their hands.

Grey could not wrap his head around why the Lady was giving him such a look. He was wondering if he should approach her when Void contacted him.

‘We found something.’

Bringing his attention back to the rubble, he moved closer to Void and the Bunny Leader, who pointed at a particular spot to him. The second he saw it, he moved the rubble away to reveal what looked like the remains of an array. The part of the array gave off a strong spatial aura, indicating it was most likely a teleportation array.

“How large was the teleportation array here?” He turned to his Teacher.

Chris was standing beside him, hearing this question, he shook his head, “I had no idea there was a teleportation array here.”

Even for someone like him, not everywhere was accessible. The only reason he could even come here was due to the explosion and the fact that the buildings around a hundred meters or so were destroyed. This region used to be one of the few areas he was not allowed to come close to. With the exception of the upper echelons of the Faction, no one else was allowed to come close to this place. It was also heavily protected, with two Peak Sovereigns always on guard. If not for the attack, two Peak Sovereigns would have been here safeguarding it. After the explosion, everyone knew the reason for the attack was just to divert their attention as this place was the Gnomes’ original target.

“The teleportation array leads to the depths of the Magical Beasts’ Forest, to the location of the sealed portal to be precise.” A cold detached voice spoke from the side.

Turning to that direction, Grey noticed it was the voice of the Lady who had been giving him a strange look.

“The depths of the Magical Beasts’ Forest…”

Grey and the others did not think the teleportation array would lead there. Even with this information, they still did not know what to do regarding the missing people. If the location of the portal was in the depths of the Magical Beasts’ Forest, it would be wise to head there. However, if the seal has been broken, going there was no different from suicide.

Klaus has been silent all this while, his eyes emotionless and cold. No one knew what was going through his head at the moment.

“We can’t go there with our current manpower. If the seal has been broken, the Gnomes would have already sent in a few Half God Plane experts to ensure they secure it.” The Lady knew about their situation, so she naturally did not want them to take any rash actions. They were just Sovereigns, and even though she could tell they were powerful, they were not strong enough to go up against Peak Sovereigns, much less Half God Plane experts.

Grey frowned, the Principal being taken put then in a tight spot. They thought they would only have to fight the Gnomes, this was not part of what they prepared for. He took a peek at Klaus, only to see his dull eyes. Sighing, he sat down cross-legged and closed his eyes. There was only one thing he could do at this moment, and that was to take control of the Gnome Races’ Seventh Prince to see if he could get a glimpse of what was happening in the Gnome World. Since the portal has been unsealed, the Gnomes would naturally be working tirelessly to invade their world. At least they have been preparing for this for a few thousand years now. From what Grey could tell, the seal would eventually loosen even if the Gnomes did not hurry to break it.

The Lady was taken aback when she saw Grey entering a meditative state, giving Chris an inquiring look, only to get a shrug for the latter, seemingly saying he had no idea what Grey was doing. She did not speak, only staring at Grey with curiosity in her eyes. There was also a hint of sadness in her eyes, although well hidden.

Grey stayed in that position for a long period, and those surrounding him did not speak a word, all waiting for what he was doing.

While the others were standing around him, Grey’s vision had turned into that of the Seventh Prince of the Gnome Race. Looking around, he was beyond shocked.

‘Fuck!’
