Chapter 1974: I Hope You Can Assist Me

In the cover of the night, Grey stealthily snuck into the compound. There were two guards at the gate that were both Venerables. Even if they were Sovereigns, they still would not have been able to sense Grey’s presence. He secretly placed a mark on the Old Man at the marketplace. Tracking the Old Man, he was led to the west wing of the building.

As soon as he got into the building, he could hear the voices of ladies screaming.

‘Hmm?’ Raising a brow, he went in the direction of the voices.

He got to the front of a door in a matter of seconds. Certain this was where the voices came from, he spread out his Mental Sense, checking what was happening inside.

Even with the mask, his darkened expression could be noticed. Snorting coldly, he pushed open the door.

“Who dares disturbs my…” The arrogant voice of the young Gnome paused mid-sentence, that was because before him was a Human dressed in black with a black mask. Without hesitation, the young Gnome hurriedly turned around to flee through the window, screaming at the top of his lungs.

Grey was taken aback, not expecting the Gnome to react in such a manner. Usually, being an arrogant figure from a big family, the young Gnome’s presumed action should most likely be either scolding or threatening him. Never did he expect the Gnome to not only want to escape at the sight of him, but even going as far as raising an alarm. Although caught off-guard by the Gnome, his reaction was not slow, flickering, he blocked the path of the young Gnome.

The Gnome almost ran into him, frightened, the Gnome stopped in his tracks, only a few inches from ramming into Grey.

“Wh… who are you?” The young Gnome asked with a shaky voice as he slowly retreated.

Grey’s cold eyes lingered on the body of the Gnome, before raising his head to look at the two ladies whose clothes were ripped apart and were shaking with fear on the side of the bed. Waving his hand, he used the bedsheet to cover their bodies.

He did not bother to answer the young Gnome, stretching his hand forward, he tried to grab the young Gnome, only to see a bead appear on his hand. The essence in the body of the Gnome rushed towards the bead in an attempt to detonate it. The bead contained a massive amount of energy. He was not worried about it since it was only around the same as a Seventh stage Sovereign’s full attack. Even so, he could not allow the Gnome to do this. Once this bead was crushed, the entire City would be alerted, something he did not want. Controlling the space around the young Gnome, he made it hard for the Gnome to move, hastily taking the bead away before he could use it.

The young Gnome panicked, never expecting the person who came here to be this powerful.

“Please spare me!” He begged while trying to drag his body in the direction of the bed. Feeling a firm grip on his neck, he shrieked in horror.

Grey looked at that young Gnome, a little disgusted by his cowardice. Snorting coldly, he threw the young Gnome to the side, infusing essence into his body that would incapacitate him.

Slowly, he walked over to the two girls who were curled up by the other side of the bed.

“Are you alright?” He asked softly.

It took a few seconds before one of the girls nodded, before saying in a pleading voice, “Please help us.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll take you two away from here.” Grey felt sorry for the duo, recalling something, he asked, “Are you two by chance from the Moonlight Faction?”

The two girls froze when they heard Grey call the Moonlight Faction, the one who spoke a minute ago replied, “Yes Sir, we’re both from the Moonlight Faction.”

When Grey saw them at the marketplace, he found their clothing familiar. He thought about the Moonlight Faction due to the cold essence he could feel coming from the bodies of the two young Ladies. Their sealed cultivation could not hide the excessive cold energies their bodies have accumulated with years of cultivating under cold conditions. This cold energy is more apparent the stronger the Elementalist is. After spending so much time with Klaus lately, it was easy for Grey to link these girls to the Moonlight Faction.

“Stay here, I’ll come back for you two shortly.” Grey disappeared after leaving this statement.

The girls traded looks, puzzled why Grey left with just this statement.

The duo stood up and slowly walked over to the side where the young Gnome’s body was lying unconscious. The thought of attacking him in his vulnerable state came to mind, and the eyes of the girl who had been quiet all this while turned red, rushing to the side, she picked up what looked like a baton with the intention of smashing the head of the young Gnome.

The girl who spoke with Grey hurriedly stopped her, saying in a hushed voice, “Do you want to expose the Sir’s movements?”

“Don’t you want him dead?” The girl with the baton asked, her voice croaked, seemingly on the verge of tears.

“If the Sir returns, we can discuss this with him. Any noise from here might alert others.” The girl who spoke with Grey comforted the other girl who had fallen to the ground, sobbing.

Her eyes were also teary, but she knew she had to be on guard. The duo covered their bodies with the bedsheet, looking around, they picked up parts of their ripped up clothes, using it to tie the hands and legs of the young Gnome. She also covered his eyes as well as mouth, just to be on the safer side.

….

Meanwhile, somewhere inside the building. Grey’s figure could be seen easily blending into the dark, flickering from one spot to another. He was oblivious to what the Young Ladies did. Before leaving, he told the Bunny Leader to leave a Bunny there that would ensure they were alerted if anyone went close to the room.

Tracking the mark, he was led to a hidden room. His space element showed its convenience in this instance, because he did not need to search for any secret door. Using his powerful Mental Sense to spy the insides of the secret room, he had no problems with picking a place to reappear.

Other than the Old Man, there were also two others who were around the Origin Plane as well. The duo were younger, and one of them was shockingly a Gnome. Something that was out of Grey’s expectations.

Appearing inside the secret room, he did not show himself, waiting patiently, a figure walked into the room. A middle-aged Gnome with brown rough beards.

The Gnome did not even spare the prisoners a glance, picking up what looked to be a scroll that was on a table and turning to leave.

The scroll piqued Grey’s interest, and after thinking about it, he appeared behind the Gnome just as he was about to exit the secret room, knocking him out and then taking the scroll.

Everything was written in what looked like the Gnome language yet was not. He had partially studied the Gnome language during their last visit, however, what was written in this scroll is something he had no knowledge of. Taking the scroll, he decided he would investigate it later on.

Moving back, he looked at the three figures kept in the cell. The Old Man as well as the other Human were both seated on the ground, resting their backs on the wall, while the Gnome was seated on the other side of the cell, keeping his distance from the duo.

None of them sensed Grey’s presence, even after he had taken a Gnome that was in the First stage of the Sovereign Plane.

Caught in a dilemma, Grey was unsure of what to do with the Gnome. He could take both Humans away, however, there was no way he was taking a Gnome with them. Hesitating no further, he placed his hand on both Humans, disappearing with them even before they could wake up.

Suddenly reappearing in another part of the building, the duo felt the world turning as they had the urge to throw up. Going through space in such an unexpected manner always leaves one with an uncomfortable feeling.

Opening their eyes, they saw a figure standing before them with his back to them. The Man who was not from True Dawn was shaken by what he just saw, looking at Grey he bowed, “Thank you for your grace, Your Highness.”

The Old Man also hurriedly bowed to appreciate Grey. From his figure alone, they knew he was Human. Knowing he had just saved them, they felt nothing but gratitude towards him.

Grey nodded casually before turning to the Old Man, “I have some questions for you Old Sir, I do hope you can assist me.”
