Chapter 2100: The First To Fall
Chapter 2100: The First To Fall
The lady Gnome clenched her fist as she saw her attack breaking through Grey’s defensive screen. The attack did not stop after breaking the defensive screen, it continued forward before slamming into Grey’s figure and exploding.
She did not hear Grey screaming in pain, which was within her expectations. Waiting patiently, the smoke faded from the explosion and the eyes of the lady Gnome enlarged at what she saw before her... there was nothing before her.
"Where did he go?!" She blurted out when she could not find Grey.
She clearly saw her attacking landing on Grey, and even though she did not expect it to seriously wound him, she felt it should at least leave him in a rough state. Reality however, proved different. Grey was nowhere to be seen. It was as if he vanished from the face of the world.
Still caught in trying to locate Grey, she heard a voice filled with rage.
"Kora! Didn’t you say this masked human was yours? What the hell is he doing here?!" An enraged roar came from the side of the other Ninth stage Sovereigns.
Kora, the lady Gnome, looked in that direction, and sure enough, the person she had been searching for was there, attacking an older Gnome. The Gnome did not even have the chance to fight back as he was repeatedly forced back by each of Grey’s blows. He repeatedly yelled for Kora as he blocked each blow.
Kora felt a great wave of humiliation wash over her once again. At least the last time the others did not speak out when faced with Grey’s attacks, this time, she was reprimanded by the old Gnome which she did not appreciate.
She snorted coldly before vanishing, appearing not far from the old Gnome and Grey, she looked at the old Gnome in disdain and commented, "You’re in the Ninth stage just like him, yet he’s able to force you to such a state. You truly are pathetic."
Kora’s comment almost made the old Gnome cough up blood. He became agitated which made him lose focus, giving Grey the chance to land a strike on his shoulder. Grey did not hold back on his attack, leaving a hole on the right shoulder of the old Gnome.
The old Gnome screamed in pain, clutching his injured shoulder as he hurriedly retreated. He was not Grey’s opponent, he dared not face him again. What made things worse for him was that he could not even use his puppet to distract Grey since he was not given the chance by Grey.
The old Gnome’s scream of pain drew the attention of the other Ninth stage Sovereigns. Seeing him bleeding from his shoulder while Grey looked like a beast ready to pounce, a male Gnome dressed in silver voiced out.
"Kora, do you want to watch him die?"
Kora grunted, but still made a move. She intercepted Grey before he could launch another attack in the old Gnome’s direction. However, things took another turn when the person she was supposed to block from attacking did not come her way.
Grey did not have any intentions of ending the old Gnome, his plan was to draw the attention of everyone to them and then attack another Ninth stage Gnome.
None of the Gnomes expected this, but this time, Kora reacted quickly. When she did not see Grey in front of her, she quickly sensed for spatial fluctuations and found where Grey was appearing.
"Thrum, behind you!" She warned a Ninth stage Gnome dressed in black.
The Ninth stage Gnome, referred to as Thrum, created a large darkness elemental sphere to protect himself after he was warned.
Albeit reacting quickly, he was still a little too late. Understanding there was no way to block the attack, all he could do was minimize the damage. A lightning sword was cutting down in his direction, with the aim of cutting him in two. He swiftly shifted his body to the side, but was unable to completely dodge the lightning sword.
"Arghhh!!" A painful shriek escaped his lips as one of his hands was cleanly cut off by the lightning sword which sent electric volts straight into his body from the injured place.
The smell of burnt flesh soon spread out.
"Lucky." Grey grunted before giving Garth and Tate a wink and disappearing.
Garth and Tate did not need any explanation from Grey, seizing the opportunity, the duo turned into rays of light while everyone was focused on locating Grey and attacked Thrum at the same time.
Thrum was still traumatized from Grey’s attack, so when he suddenly saw two streams of light heading his way, instead of fighting back, he panicked and tried to escape.
Garth and Tate held nothing back, each sending out multiple light elemental attacks that were like shards.
Thrum used his darkness element to try to block the attacks, but the darkness element was a little weak against the light element, so he did not succeed in blocking the attacks.
Multiple light attacks pierced through him, not giving him the chance to even scream.
Everything happened in a flash. While the Gnomes were searching for Grey, they unexpectedly saw two beams of light and when they looked over, Garth and Tate had already attacked Thrum.
When everyone turned around, they saw the corpse of Thrum falling to the ground. The first Ninth stage Sovereign had fallen in this battle and it had not even been close to three minutes since the fight started.
The Gnomes were left dumbstruck by what happened, none of them predicted they would witness any of their companions falling today, after all, they outnumbered the humans more than two to one. There were only four human Ninth stage Sovereigns, while they had ten, if their puppets were included, that was twenty Ninth stage Sovereigns, yet they were the ones to first lose a fighter.
They could not understand how something like this was possible, they all turned to look at the same person, the masked man. It was his fault, he was the one that created this opportunity.
