Chapter 2103: Waiting For A Chance II

Grey used his dimensional force field, enforcing it with his earth domain to destabilize the Gnomes around him.

Kora and the others had no idea Grey had such a technique, so they were all caught off guard.

The old Gnome was one of the ones who could not even react to it.

Grey, seeing the old Gnome unable to move, did not let such an opportunity slide. He rushed in the direction of the old Gnome and attacked. When he first used his dimensional force field, he already planned to attack the Gnome who was less prepared.

Other than the old Gnome, three more of them were caught off guard by the dimensional force field, but the old Gnome was the only one among them that could not use his full strength.

When Grey appeared before the old Gnome who was falling to the ground, the old Gnome saw him, but there was nothing he could do at that moment. Even his puppet was affected by the sudden change in gravity, much less himself. He could do nothing to block Grey’s incoming attack and only watched him.

Grey did not care if the old Gnome was previously injured or not, his plan was to kill one of them, and with the old Gnome presenting the opportunity to him, he would naturally take it. He struck with conviction, aiming to end the life of the old Gnome.

The old Gnome, seeing Grey’s attack, closed his eyes in defeat. He knew there was no way to block the attack since his puppet was not close by and any defense he tried to set up would not be fully up when the attack struck. The impact the old Gnome was expecting never came, rather, when he opened his eyes, he saw Kora blocking Grey’s attack.

"Move..." Kora forced those words out of her mouth as he used all her strength to block Grey’s attack.

The old Gnome first paused, but then in elation reacted in time, moving away from where Grey’s attack was coming from.

Grey failed to kill the old Gnome with his surprise attack due to the intervention of Kora.

"You’re starting to annoy me." He looked into Kora’s eyes as the old Gnome escaped.

Kora could see the anger in his eyes, but she did not care. Although she had come to terms with the fact that he was more than she could handle, she still did not think of him as an undefeatable opponent. Grey’s threat was not something she took to heart as of now.

Grey did not know what was on Kora’s mind, he only knew how annoying she was right now. Not wanting to waste time on her, he gave up on the old Gnome since it was not possible anyway and tried to target another Gnome.

Kora sensed the spatial fluctuations around him and knew he was about to run from their fight. Using her full abilities, she locked the space within a hundred meters radius, stopping Grey from achieving his goal.

Grey was once again annoyed by her abilities. The thought of attempting to kill her crossed his mind, but he knew it would not be as easy as killing another Ninth stage Sovereign, after all, Kora was a Space Elementalist herself, and once things were unfavorable for them, she had a better chance of surviving compared to even the two Peak Sovereigns. When Grey tried to target another person, to his shock, Kora sealed the space around them.

Void and the bunny leader could force their way out of her seal, but Grey was not on their level in terms of the space element. Kora’s seal was able to stop him from leaving.

The seal stopped Grey from going anywhere, and once he accepted this, he immediately changed his plan. Without holding back, he sent out fist made entirely of the lightning element Kora’s way.

Seeing the lightning fist, Kora could not keep up with her spatial seal since she had to defend herself from this dangerous attack.

This was all Grey needed to continue with his initial plan. He used the space element to disappear, appearing in front of another Ninth stage Sovereign.

The Ninth stage Sovereign looked to be a middle-aged man, when he saw Grey appearing in front of him. He brought his puppet in front of him.

Grey saw the puppet, throwing caution to the wind, he decided he would kill this Gnome no matter what. His mental sense spread out at the same moment the Gnome’s puppet blocked his way, and he cut the link between the Gnome and the puppet.

The Gnome was temporarily incapacitated, while the puppet froze for a short time.

Grey knew he had to be careful so he teleported past the puppet and appeared behind the Gnome. The puppet that was supposed to stop him was on the other side, so when he struck, there was no way anyone would instantly figure out what happened. Although someone like Kora would notice, it would take some time before she figured out what happened.

Generally, a Ninth stage Sovereign should be able to stop Grey from instantaneously using his space element, but when said Sovereign could not move, then it was a different predicament.

Grey’s palm landed on the back of the middle-aged Gnome, sending the latter flying.

The Gnome spat out a mouthful of blood while mid-air as his back caved in. The figure of the Gnome crashed to the ground, and after rolling for a few times, it stopped motionless. The aura of the Gnome faded almost instantly as well, making it hard for anyone to tell if he was alive or dead.

From when Grey used his dimensional force field, it had been only a few seconds or so. Other than Kora, none of the other Gnomes were able to react properly, so everything happened in almost an instant for the others.

Boom!

They looked at where the body of the middle-aged Gnome landed, and when they did not see any movements, their hearts sank.

Six of them attacked Grey, yet he was able to take out one of them in such a short time.

The death of the middle-aged Gnome attracted the attention of everyone on the battlefield, not just the Ninth stage Sovereigns fighting Grey.

The trio who were battling Garth, Tate, and Cassian were dumbfounded by the sudden death of another one of their companions. It had not been long since they changed their strategies, yet Grey had somehow managed to still kill one of them.

The Ninth stage Sovereigns were not the only ones worried. Those below the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane were also worried on the battlefield. After the Peak Sovereigns and the Ninth stage Sovereigns left the battlefield, everything was left in the hands of those in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane and below.

When Thrum died, they naturally felt it. Both the humans and Gnomes knew the Ninth stage Sovereign who had died. The morale of the humans soared while the Gnomes felt a little down. They were just starting to regain their momentum after being reminded of their numerical advantage, when another Ninth stage Sovereign Gnome was killed. This time, they felt less confident that they could win this fight.

On the side of the humans, they all rejoiced when they sensed the death of another Ninth stage Sovereign Gnome. They were already aware of the fact that they were at a numerical disadvantage, so now that they were killing the Gnomes above them, they felt fulfilled. Most of the humans present here were ready to die as long as they took a few more Gnomes with them.

The impact the death of the middle-aged Gnome took on those below the Ninth stage of the Sovereign Plane was different from how it affected the other battles.

General Robert was still under attack from Rikard and Wilmot. He was still searching to create an opportunity for Grey to take action against the duo. While his entire body was covered in blood, the aura of the middle-aged Gnome slowly faded.

Rikard and Wilmot who were about to attack him were distracted by the sudden death of another Ninth stage Sovereign.

’Finally.’ General Robert had been looking for an opportunity all this while, now that the duo were distracted, he did not delay any further and crushed the item given to him by Grey before the battle.

...

Kora and the other Gnomes had their eyes on Grey after he attacked the middle-aged Gnome, none of them knew how he was able to achieve this. Even Kora was thunderstruck by how easy it was for Grey to kill the middle-aged Gnome. She had faced Grey and knew that he was stronger than the average Ninth stage Sovereign, but she also knew that even if it was a case of a sneak attack, it was still impossible for her to be killed by someone of the level of the strength Grey showed to her.
