Chapter 16: The Rooms in Both Villas Are Hers
Nan Qiao's Grandpa liked peace, so he chose to stay in his Zhongshan villas. The residence was at the edge of the city, but it was in a prime location.
There were only a total of three villas there and all of them had been bought by Grandpa. Within a five-kilometer radius, there was no one else living there other than them.
The bushes on both sides of the road were trimmed into all kinds of shapes. Cowherder and the weaving maid, Chang'e flying towards the moon…
Sitting in the car, Nan Qiao looked at the scenery along the way. This was even better than going to some parks.
After entering the neighborhood and driving for a full 20 minutes, they arrived at the main residence. Nan Qiao got out of the car and fell silent when she saw this tall villa.
Although she knew that her grandfather was indeed very rich, it shouldn't be so exaggerated, right?
As soon as she entered the house, she saw that the decor was in an ancient style. The first thing she saw was a blank wall. The warm light of the setting sun shone on the trees outside the window, and the leaves casted a beautiful shadow on the wall, like a painting that moved with the wind.
There were many flowers planted outside the window, like a flower bed. It was extremely beautiful.
Seeing Nan Qiao staring at the flowers outside, Murong Chen walked over and said gently, "Grandpa said that he didn't know what kind of flowers you liked, so he planted a bit of everything."
Nan Qiao felt a lump in her throat and her eyes turned red. Her eyes were misty. "Grandpa will definitely blame me. I didn't even come back to pay respect after he passed."
"No, Grandpa cared about you the most so why would he blame you?
The reason why Grandpa adopted five boys and not a single girl was because he felt that you are irreplaceable."
Two drops of tears streaked across her fair cheeks. Nan Qiao pursed her lips, afraid that she would cry aloud if she was not careful.
"Grandpa has never blamed you. He said that your mother's life was not good. She met a bad person and passed away at a young age, leaving the four of you behind.
Later on, when Nan Kang married someone else, Grandpa was most worried about you. Shortly after, he became seriously ill. Even when he was on the hospital bed, he asked me to check on your situation. When he heard that you were not doing well, he died of heartache.
Grandpa knew that this day would come sooner or later, so he'd prepared fully in advance."
Murong Chen wiped the tears off Nan Qiao's face and faced her. "Don't cry. Grandpa will be very happy to know that you've escaped from the sea of bitterness.
If he found out that I'd made such an adorable sister cry, he would blame me."
"No, he won't," Nan Qiao said with a sobbing tone.
Murong Chen was dressed in a black suit and looked dignified, but there was a gentle smile on his face that did not match his temperament.
"I'll show you the room Grandpa decorated for you."
Nan Qiao nodded, feeling very sad and guilty.
As soon as she entered the room, she was greeted by a gauze curtain the color of aqua blue. The tables and chairs were all matched in an elegant wood color and there was a large balcony attached. On the balcony were two chairs. One was a recliner for use in winter, covered in white fur, while the other was wooden.
Although the renovation style was not modern, there was a remote control to ensure good lighting in the room. As long as she pressed it, the curtains would reveal floor-to-ceiling windows in three directions.
"Do you like it?"
Nan Qiao was so shocked that she did not answer for a long time, but Murong Chen thought that Nan Qiao did not like it.
Hence, he said, "If you don't like it, there are other styles. I'll bring you to see them."
Nan Qiao turned around in confusion, her dark eyes filled with confusion. "There are other styles?"
Murong Chen pinched his forehead and said, "To be precise, there are quite a lot of styles for you to choose. Grandpa usually only lives here, so all the rooms in the other two villas are reserved for you.. The renovation style of each room is different, so you can have more options."
Nan Qiao: "…"
How extravagant!
"So many?" Nan Qiao was so surprised that she could not close her mouth. She hurriedly ran to the other rooms to take a look. As expected, there were rooms filled with pink hearts, cartoon figures, even purple flowers…
There were simply endless choices.
Now, Nan Qiao believed that the other two villas were really for her to use.
For a moment, Nan Qiao did not know what to say. Grandpa was completely pampering her like a little princess.
Murong Chen seemed to have seen through Nan Qiao's thoughts. He smiled and said, "You're the little princess of the Murong Family to begin with. Even if Grandpa is gone, there are still us brothers."
Nan Qiao had heard from Murong Chen that she had a few other brothers, but she had never seen her other brothers. She asked in confusion, "Where are the other Big Brothers?"
Now, she was filled with anticipation for her new life. She really wanted to see what her other brothers looked like.
When Murong Chen heard this, he was a little disappointed. "Ah, is our Little Princess bored of me so quickly? She likes the other brothers now?"
"No, no. I'm just asking. I like Big Brother very much." Nan Qiao waved her hand in a panic. Why did she feel that this Big Brother was different from what she had heard?
Murong Chen stared at her until Nan Qiao panicked before letting her go. He chuckled. "I was just teasing you."
Murong Chen patted her head. The furry hair on the top of her head felt too good, like a kitten.
"Your other brothers are all working and don't usually come home, so you can't see any of them yet. Next time, when they're not busy, I'll call them back to meet you."
"Alright," Nan Qiao replied sweetly.
Although the two of them were alone in the house, Nan Qiao did not feel lonely at all. The two of them chatted and laughed happily.
At night, Nan Qiao slept in the first room. This place seemed to have the smell left behind by her grandfather. It was warm and comfortable.
This room was especially meticulously renovated according to her grandfather's preferences and love for her. Everything else was a backup plan, so Nan Qiao liked this room the most.
She did not know what kind of storm she would have to face when she went to school tomorrow.
However, Nan Qiao was still a little curious about her other brothers.
The next morning, when Nan Qiao went downstairs, she saw that there were many breakfast dishes on the table. The long table was filled with food. Nan Qiao felt like she was sitting at a buffet.
At this moment, Murong Chen walked over. "I don't know what kind of breakfast you like to eat, so I got someone to prepare a portion of everything. Take a look at what you'd like to eat. If there's nothing you like, I'll get someone to buy more."
"Yes, yes, yes. It's enough. I'm not picky about food. It's just that there are so many. Won't it be a waste?" Nan Qiao drooled and jumped at a good-looking piece of bread.
"Don't worry, the Murong Family has to provide for a lot of people. After you're done picking, the rest will be distributed to everyone. It won't be wasted." Murong Chen saw through Nan Qiao's embarrassment and grabbed her shoulders to let her sit down.
"Oh…" Only then did Nan Qiao sit down and eat boldly.
"I'll send you to school after dinner." Murong Chen looked at Nan Qiao's table manners. She looked like a little hamster. She was so cute that one could not help but want to pinch her round cheeks.
Murong Chen coughed lightly to hide his thoughts. "Ahem, sending my sister to school is my duty as an elder brother."
