Chapter 210.2
Chapter 210.2
Fearing another encounter with someone as powerful as Dr. Sang, Bai Lixin refrained from hastily conducting an in-depth investigation this time. Instead, he took note of these points and patiently waited for an opportunity to explore them.
The special zombie mentioned that they attacked to reclaim the “zombie queen” from humans but did not specify the queen’s exact location.
Having scanned the ark, Bai Lixin did not find glowing crystal nuclei representing active zombies. It could mean that there were no zombies aboard the ark, or they were concealed in the undetectable dark areas.
He will only know whether the zombie queen is on the ark once he investigates those dark areas.
After ensuring that he had explored all accessible areas on the ark, Bai Lixin began retracting the red threads.
However, he didn’t fully retract the red threads but kept a very weak segment entrenched around his body.
He learned this technique was learned from the special zombie, and while he’s uncertain about its practical effect, there’s no harm in giving it a try.
Bai Lixin opened his eyes and skillfully took a sip of the nearby nutrient solution.
Although he still felt a sense of hunger this time, the loss of ability seemed less pronounced. It appears that as the power level increases, the energy stored in the brain’s crystal nucleus also increases.
———————-
Late at night, Bai Lixin once again entered the spiritual realm.
This wasn’t the first time he encountered a mountain of corpses or witnessed a sky filled with glaciers.
But this time, he found himself on the rooftop of a dilapidated concrete and metal building.
The man was dressed this time, and was sitting aimlessly on the edge of the terrace with his back to Bai Lixin. A slight lean forward, and he would tumble from the roof.
Bai Lixin deliberately stepped on a branch on the ground, producing a distinct sound.
Hearing the footsteps behind him, the man didn’t turn his head but spoke casually, “You’re here again. Come over.”
There was no surprise nor any rejection this time.
Unbeknownst to the man, he was gradually becoming accustomed to the youth’s presence.
Upon hearing the words, Bai Lixin approached the man’s side, mimicking his posture and sitting down. He positioned himself close to the man, even resting his head directly on the man’s cold arm.
The man with vacant eyes was slightly surprised and couldn’t help but tilt his head for a glance, mimicking the youth’s expression and posture.
Youth: “Dr. Sang, why do you always gaze into the distance whenever I see you in my dreams?”
Man: “Because I don’t know what to do. Since my birth, I have possessed the most formidable power in the world. I can effortlessly acquire what others strive so hard for.”
“For me, this desolate and decrepit planet holds no allure, and it is even mundane.”
“For the longest time, I derived no satisfaction from any pursuit.”
The youth: “And then? How did you become Dr. Sang? Was it because you found Ark intriguing?”
The man shook his head: “I was simply bored. There was nothing to engage in, and conducting experiments merely passed the time.”
“But a few days ago, I found myself somewhat intrigued by a captivating little mouse.”
The man turned his head to look at the youth: “ This little mouse managed to spark some interest within me.”
The youth gently leaned against the man’s shoulder, fixing his fiery gaze upon him. He boldly reached out his hand, placing his warm fingers on the man’s chest, lightly caressing the man’s pectoral muscles beneath his clothes.
Sometimes swift, sometimes lingering, sometimes gentle, sometimes firm.
The man froze, and the youth’s enticing voice echoed, “Dr. Sang, you are not bored; you are simply lonely.”
The man swallowed.
The youth turned around and straddled the man’s lap. The sky lay before them, and startled by the youth’s movement, the man instinctively gripped the youth’s waist with both hands, “You’re crazy! You could lose your life if you fall.”
The youth merely glanced disdainfully at the ground hundreds of meters below and hooked his arms around the man’s neck. His eyes glistened with moisture, exuding a charm akin to a nocturnal forest elf. He bore no resemblance to the timid and reserved youth seen during daytime.
“This kind of thrill is what I desire,” the youth pressed himself against the man’s shoulder, his warm touch gently caressing the man’s waist and chest. “I repeat, Dr. Sang, you are not bored; you are simply too lonely.”
“You are a lone ranger in this world. No one is truly your companion. You dislike your brother, the Zombie King, and humans have never been your companions. Dr. Sang, I can help you escape from loneliness. Would you like to give it a try?”
The youth’s warm and tender lips moved from the man’s chin to the corner of his mouth.
This time, the man didn’t immediately expel the young man from his spiritual realm as he had done in the previous encounters. He took a deep breath and asked in a hoarse, dry voice, “How can I escape?”
Misty tears welled up in the young man’s eyes. “I have read books that describe how lovers express longing and alleviate loneliness through kisses. Let’s try it. What do you think?”
The man’s white pupils twitched slightly. “But we are not lovers.”
“Nonsense. This is my dream, and I have the final say. I say we are lovers, so we are.” The young man gently nipped the man’s cheek, causing no pain but a strange, tingling sensation.
However, this sensation wasn’t uncomfortable; in fact, it was strangely pleasant, reminiscent of the youth’s daring behavior the previous night.
Something seemed to be awakening within the man’s body.
He gazed into the young man’s vast and radiant eyes, his mind hazy, and asked, “How do you kiss?”
The youth smiled slightly, his voice enchanting. “I’ll teach you. Open your mouth.”
The man didn’t resist and obediently parted his lips.
In the next moment, warm, soft, and sweet lips merged together with his.
The scent of youth, reminiscent of mint, carried a coolness that caused a tingling sensation, making him shudder.
After being momentarily stunned, the man responded with equal fervor, intensifying the kiss.
One hand supported the youth, preventing him from falling off the roof, while the other broad hand pressed against the back of his head.
Slender fingers wove through the youth’s soft, lingering hair, gripping a handful and savoring the sensation as if holding clouds and silk in his palm.
The two of them lost track of time, continuing until the youth began to breathe heavily, prompting the man to reluctantly release him.
He stared down at the youth and noticed that the corners of his lips were now swollen and tinged with red.
Water mist veiled his eyes, shimmering like dewdrops, while his slightly parted lips panted. His cheeks were flushed, radiating a cute and alluring charm.
It was as if a cat had retracted its sharp claws and fangs, obediently lying on the ground, exposing its soft underbelly for its owner to caress.
The man had never witnessed or experienced anything like this before.
He stared blankly at the youth before him, his typically impassive eyes gradually igniting with heat and madness.
He mimicked the youth’s appearance, breathing heavily with his mouth open.
The surroundings were silent and empty, yet incredibly hot and parched.
The young man gradually regained his senses, looking at the man with teary eyes and asking, “How was it? Did it help?”
The man smiled lightly and replied, “And what about you?”
The young man blinked. “It’s close.”
The man said, “Then let me help you.”
Their lips made zero or even negative contact once more.
The man held the youth’s slender waist and slowly traced his hands along the curve. Despite the youth’s seemingly soft appearance, his waistline was surprisingly tight.
Even through their clothes, the man could feel the warmth. He wondered how it would feel to touch it directly.
Lost in his thoughts, his slightly calloused hands gently lifted the edge of the young man’s clothing and slid inside.
In the next second, the youth quivered like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. He wanted to break free, yet was unwilling to do so.
The man’s eyes darkened, firmly holding the youth in place, rendering him unable to move.
—————–
In the early morning of the following day, Bai Lixin bravely opened his eyes and turned to look at Xia Chi.
As expected, Xia Chi’s expression was more subtle today, with a visible blush.
Xia Chi covered his face, opened and closed his mouth, and finally awkwardly greeted, “Morning, brother.”
Bai Lixin showed no mercy and used his ability on him.
——————-
Five seconds later, Xia Chi fully revived with renewed energy.
S419M: [Hey, Xia Chi endured pain he shouldn’t have. Lord host, last night… tsk tsk tsk… you were amazing, truly amazing. You deserve praise.]
Bai Lixin blushed, feeling so embarrassed that he could have picked out a luxurious three-bedroom, two-living house with his toes.
Before returning yesterday, Dr. Sang had mentioned that he would suspend the one-on-one training for today in order to gather information on the ark.
After freshening up, Bai Lixin followed Xia Chi along an unfamiliar path towards the training ground.
As they walked halfway, they heard a cry for help.
Exchanging glances with Xia Chi, they followed the sound and eventually found two people in a small alley.
One of them was familiar to both of them—Billy.
The other was an ordinary girl wearing a red collar. Billy dragged her deeper into the alley, his eyes unfriendly and filled with greed, making his intentions clear.
The girl was already terrified, her pale face expressing despair. With her free hand, she desperately clung to the wall, her nails scratching against it, leaving streaks of blood where it passed.
The girl pleaded, her voice trembling, “Please let me go. I beg you, I’m begging for my life.”
Billy looked at the girl indifferently, saying, “It’s an honor for you to bear my child. With my baby, you’ll have food and clothing for at least a few months, and you can earn a lot of money. What more could you possibly want?”
The girl remained unmoved by his words, fear evident as she begged, “I don’t want it. I don’t want to have a child. Please, just let me go.”
“Stop!” A loud roar interrupted Billy’s violence, bringing an abrupt halt to his actions and the girl’s pleading.
The girl looked at the two of them in surprise, as if seeing saviors. “Help me, please help me.”
Xia Chi couldn’t bear it. The girl appeared to be the same age as him, the time when one would be preparing for university admissions and enjoying the happiness of university life.
But in these last days, the law of the jungle reigned supreme, leaving behind ethics and morality.
So, how were they any different from beasts?
Billy glared at them menacingly. “Mind your own business.”
Xia Chi responded, “She said she doesn’t want to. Can’t you hear her? Let her go.”
Billy scrutinized the two of them for a moment, then arrogantly said while carrying the girl on his shoulder, “And who are you to decide?”
“My strength is already close to S-level, and I can surpass S-level in a short time. Do you two low-level wastes dare to stop me? I could kill you, there’s no one on the ark to support you.”
“What if we join in?” A calm voice came from behind Xia Chi. He turned his head and saw that Zhou Guang, Song Yuantian, and their group had gathered there unnoticed, tightly blocking the entrance to the alley.
Zhou Guang pushed his glasses up. “I know you. Your name is Billy, right? I’ve read the rules of the ark, and fighting is prohibited for ability users. Even if you have the ability to instantly kill two people, what about ten? Are you still confident?”
“This alley is narrow. We have enough time to escape, and we can report you for endangering lives. Do you believe it?”
Billy paused, frowning as he looked at the alley. He glanced at the group of people in front of him, seemingly contemplating the truth in Zhou Guang’s words.
Zhou Guang continued, “Your abilities involve manipulating metal and performing long-distance piercing attacks. We have limited knowledge about you but our group possesses earth-type abilities, healing abilities, mind control powers, and dark matter powers. Can you really defeat all of us in one move?”
Li Cancan wore an unpleasant expression, as the situation reminded her of her own helplessness when she first entered this game. She aimed her bow and arrow and said sharply, “You have the choice to let her go.”
Someone shouted, “Teacher Sally is here!”
Billy scowled and looked at the girl on his shoulders. He cursed at her, “You’re lucky!” and threw her forcefully to the ground.
The girl cried out in pain, but Billy paid no attention. He walked to the alley entrance with a cold expression, scanning each person as if committing their faces to memory.
After Billy left, Liang Xi hurried forward and used his healing ability on the girl.
The girl, still visibly frightened, remained squatting on the ground in a daze. She only snapped out of it when her wound had healed, quickly thanked the group, and left in a panicked state.
As they watched the girl depart, Xia Chi scolded, “Damn that guy named Billy. Is he some kind of horse? Waking up early in the morning ready to sow his seeds? Something’s not right.”
Li Cancan agreed, “You’re right. Virtue is not his forte. It’s terrifying to have someone like him as a leader.”
Bai Lixin didn’t participate much in the conversation. Before leaving, he gazed thoughtfully at the alley.
———————-
More than a hundred players stood in the training field, and Sally still wore his usual cold expression.
However, there was an unexpected person standing beside Sally.
Next to Sally, Billy stood with his hands behind his back, his face grim. His chest was puffed out, tendons straining against his vest, showing his readiness.
Sally stated, “Today, we’ll proceed with the training session that didn’t happen yesterday for some reason.”
“The person beside me is Mr. Billy, a quasi-S-level ability user. He will be cooperating with you for the practical combat exercises.”
Billy’s eyes swept coldly across the crowd, and when he saw Bai Lixin’s group, he grinned with revenge in his eyes.
“Pleasure to meet all of you. Some of you know me, and some don’t. Just remember my name because the name ‘Billy’ will be unforgettable to you forever.”
He scanned the crowd, then casually pointed at a player in the front and said, “Let’s start with you.”
Sally halted Billy, “Instructor Billy, you are already approaching the quasi-S level, and these ability users have great potential. If they suffer any irreparable injuries, the council will hold you accountable. Please be mindful and show restraint.”
Billy waved his hand indifferently, “Don’t worry, I understand.”
Sally was still worried, “Do you truly understand?”
Billy was starting to get impatient, “You’re so bothersome. I volunteered to come and help you, and you should be grateful. Rest assured, I won’t do anything to them. Now, step aside. I have a higher rank than you. What? Are you defying orders?”
Only then did Sally move aside, saying, “If I witness the situation spiraling out of control during the battle, I will intervene.”
A flicker of red flashed In Billy’s eyes as he impatiently waved his hand, “Alright, alright, just go away.”
Bai Lixin and the others exchanged glances, their expressions grave.
Did he purposely request to come here?
It seems like he specifically came for them, and it doesn’t bode well.
