Chapter 655
All the bodies of the players on the ground disappeared in an instant.
The walls around them continued to shrink, and the tall tower shed its redundant layers and began to transform.
It turned into a hexagonal shape inside, with each face engraved with different totems.
One face had the golden eye that Bai Lixin had seen in the black box on the 999th floor.
Another face held the totem of fire.
One face showed the image of a decapitated head under a guillotine.
Another face displayed planets orbiting a star cluster.
One face had a massive hand holding several planets in its palm. The hand resembled a god’s, with the planets being mere objects in its grasp.
The final face was a black, four-sided box, with nothing discernible on its surface.
Bai Lixin and Dijia felt a slight tremor beneath their feet, and their bodies were suddenly hit with a sense of extreme gravity.
The fury on Little Overlord’s face gradually faded. He waved his arm and the monsters’ attacks became more fierce. “The main brain has evolved successfully. It has now entered a higher dimension, and only its perfect evolution can withstand the crushing force of this dimension. You two low-dimensional creatures are doomed to be obliterated.”
“You two don’t even qualify to be my opponents anymore. Get out of here!”
Suddenly, the floor of the hexagon beneath them opened up. Bai Lixin and Dijia felt a force push them, and their bodies were violently ejected from the hexagon.
They found themselves surrounded by a sea of stars. Colorful clusters of stars filled the space, like a celestial paradise.
The sea of stars stretched to the horizon, making them seem insignificant, like a drop in the vast ocean.
The faction emblem above Bai Lixin’s head disappeared when they were thrown out of the hexagon. At the same time, a long lost power began to flow steadily through his body.
The power that had been suppressed in the Horror Game had returned!
A person flew out of the hexagon. His fiery red hair was even longer now, like a blazing flame from his forehead to the star clusters above.
There was a glowing halo behind Little Overlord, and his body started twisting and distorting, gradually sprouting two more bodies.
Three bodies, six hands, and six feet, each hand wielding a different weapon.
A meteor hammer, a knife, a spear, a sword, a halberd, and a trident.
“Why aren’t you two dead yet?” Little Overlord frowned, puzzled. “This is impossible.”
Bai Lixin reached into his backpack and found that he could still take out the white scythe. The white sickle was like a bit of snow falling on black earth, pure and flawless. “Perhaps you should acknowledge this possibility.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’ll use you for practice.” Little Overlord twisted his body, facing Bai Lixin with another face, “I now have six eyes, and I can see a full 360 degrees. I have no blind spots. My entire body is now brimming with power. I can even hold the entire universe in my hands.”
He swung the long halberd in his hand toward the black void, and a crack immediately appeared. The craft widened, revealing a deep vortex of star clusters within.
Seeing this, Little Overlord burst into laughter. “Is this the power of higher dimensions? Incredible, just incredible! I used only 50% of my strength to tear open the void. This is a power that only gods can possess!”
He raised his arm, pointing the tip of his blade at Bai Lixin. “Don’t worry, Bai Lixin. I’ll be extra careful with you. I won’t let you die so easily. I’ll torture you bit by bit until you understand fear, death, and despair. Then, I’ll turn your near-dead body into a grotesque, tumor monster, and—”
“Boom!”
There was a loud explosion.
Little Overlord felt a wave of heat hit his face. He turned his head and saw that the perfect hexagon beside him had exploded, now billowing thick white smoke.
What happened?
Little Overlord even forgot to close his open mouth. He looked stiffly in the direction of the two men, and saw the broad-shouldered man in the suit raising his arm, his hand clenched into a fist.
His features were tense, and his expression was terrifying to the extreme.
The fist tightened slightly, and Little Overlord heard the “crack, crack” sound of the hexagon being compressed and deformed.
He stared at the man in shock, and fear gradually creeped into his six eyes.
The man finally clenched his fist fully. “You talk too much bullshit.”
“Boom!” The hexagon shattered completely, turning into a heap of scrap metal.
Little Overlord’s lips trembled, unable to form words.
He didn’t even know what expression he should make, and just stared blankly at the two men infront of him.
Bai Lixin extended his index finger and gently sliced through the void, creating a crack next to the now-ruined hexagon.
After the debris was sucked into the crack, Bai Lixin gently swiped his finger again, and the crack disappeared instantly.
Little Overlord stammered incoherently, “This… this is impossible. How could it be? It was perfect. I am… you are… Who are you two…?”
His voice was trembling, no longer carrying the arrogance from before.
Suddenly, he turned and flew toward the sea of stars behind him.
In a daze, he seemed to hear the crisp sound of someone snapping their fingers.
In the next second, his vision blurred, and once again, Bai Lixin and Dijia appeared in front of him.
Little Overlord abruptly stopped in his tracks, turned around, and tried to escape again.
After running for some time, his vision blurred, and once again, Bai Lixin and Dijia were standing in front of him.
He gritted his teeth unwillingly and turned to flee once more.
This happened four or five times. Every time he ran far away, the two of them always managed to catch up.
Little Overlord finally gave up in exasperation and shouted angrily, “Just kill me already! How long are you going to chase me? Do you think it’s fun to play tricks on me?!”
The young man chuckled, “You’re the only one running around. We haven’t moved a single step.”
At that moment, Little Overlord finally noticed that the clouds in the sky hadn’t changed at all. He looked around in a daze and vaguely saw traces of spatial distortion in the distance.
The distortions formed a circle with Bai Lixin and Dijia as the center, like a barrier that enclosed them inside.
Cold sweat poured down Little Overlord’s body, and he felt his entire back was wet.
He was drenched in sweat, overwhelmed by fear and shock.
He and the main brain were wrong.
After years of absorbing and evolving, the main brain had reached its perfect form. Yet, with just a casual grip, the man had turned the main brain into broken fragments.
“You two are not from that low-dimensional world at all,” Little Overlord muttered with regret in his eyes. “You’re both high-dimensional beings. No wonder Dijia’s body structure is so perfect. No wonder the main brain couldn’t decipher Dijia’s body structure even after analyzing it all this time. But if you’re so powerful, why didn’t you just destroy the game from the start? Are you playing with us?!”
Dijia couldn’t be bothered to speak, but Bai Lixin liked the banter.
“The reason we were so restricted was because the escape game wasn’t perfect. We discovered that the broken system would leak energy. Although that energy wouldn’t harm us, it would affect other dimensions and spaces. Dijia and I entered the horror game one after the other to find a solution. But the escape game was just a low-level dimension. If a powerful force like us entered, the unstable game would likely self-destruct. That’s why our strength was suppressed to almost zero before we successfully entered the horror game.”
Little Overlord’s eyes widened. “What the hell? You crushed the perfect main brain, but you’re telling me you were powerless against the imperfect one?!”
From the main brain’s data, he thought he knew enough about these two, but seeing their power and hearing Bai Lixin’s words today made him realize how little he understood.. He suddenly realized that the main brain wasn’t omniscient and there were things it didn’t know. So how many other things had happened without its knowledge?
“Wasn’t he supposed to be dead?” Little Overlord pointed at Dijia. “Why is he alive again? Even a resurrection prop couldn’t have managed to!”
“I wasn’t dead,” Dijia raised his eyes. “What you absorbed wasn’t me, but my AI. My consciousness had always been deep within my body. The prop [Lost Beauty] stored my memories, and after they entered my body, my consciousness was reactivated.”
He paused for a moment. “The AI was a high-end product created by your system itself. You can say that you wove a cocoon around yourselves.”
Little Overlord was stunned. “AI? AI on the 900th floor and above? But it’s just artificial intelligence. The main brain wouldn’t fail to recognize it.”
Diga: “Of course, it was made so it wouldn’t be recognized.”
“A long time ago, we implanted a virus into the main brain’s system during an update. It quietly hid in an inconspicuous part, slowly eroding and altering the main brain’s cognition until it couldn’t distinguish my AI and mistook it for me.”
Little Overlord was unconvinced. “But the system’s evolution is real! It really evolved!”
Dijia: “The main brain was too cautious. The spiritual power it had absorbed from humans was enough to repair those flaws long ago and complete its desired evolution. But it always felt it wasn’t enough and greedily wanted to devour me. I simply delivered myself into your hands to fulfill its final wish. You could repair the broken body, and we can eliminate you without any more concerns.”
“That’s why Bai Lixin congratulated me when the evolution was complete.” Little Overlord kept backing away. “Evolution was worse than not evolving. Who the hell are you two!”
In the face of such overwhelming power, any effort was in vain.
Little Overlord’s last bit of resistance vanished. He raised his head, watching the man in the suit stretch out his hand and casually flip his palm.
The surrounding stars immediately shifted, the constellations turned, and even the heavens and earth changed.
Little Overlord’s pupils slowly dilated.
He can make clouds and rain with a flip of his hand, and even the stars in the universe are under the control of this man.
‘They weren’t humans at all!’
‘They were gods!’
‘They were the real gods!’
The man slowly clenched his fist.
In the last moment of consciousness, Little Overlord was filled with regret.
If he had known the consequences of pursuing the high-dimensional realm, he and the main brain wouldn’t have struggled like this.
They would have been better off maintaining the Escape Tower.
They had foolishly thought they could kill Bai Lixin and devour Dijia!
What frogs in a well! What fools!
If he had known this would happen, why bother in the first place!
He regretted it so much…
The void opened once again, and after the debris was cleared into the void, only two people remained in the world.
The impeccably dressed man in a suit, with every strand of hair meticulously combed, tightly hugged his lover whom he hadn’t seen for a long time.
Bai Lixin responded to his long-lost lover with a hug. As the two leaned closer, he heard Dijia murmur softly, “In the system, you said there was only one person in the world who can make you afraid. Who is it? How come I don’t know?”
As their lips intertwined, Bai Lixin’s voice became sultry and sweet. “That person is you.”
“I’m afraid of losing you.”
My love.
