When Lin Zhao came out of the bathroom after his shower, he found Wen Wan sitting on the couch, dazed and lost in thought, with her hair still damp.

He plugged in the hairdryer, sat beside her, and gently began drying her hair.

Wen Wan gradually came back to herself. She turned to look at Lin Zhao, eyes filled with hesitation, as if she had something to say but didn’t know how to begin.

Lin Zhao waited patiently, but when she still didn’t speak, he asked, “What is it you want to say?”

Wen Wan immediately shook her head. “Nothing, really, it’s nothing.”

The corners of Lin Zhao’s lips curved slightly. After a moment, he said softly, “You shouldn’t overthink. Tonight… I won’t do anything to you, don’t worry.”

His Wanwan, even though now an adult, was still just a kid in his eyes.

Since she remained silent, Lin Zhao assumed he had guessed her thoughts correctly and added gently, “Our Wanwan is the purest girl in the world. I wouldn’t take advantage of you.”

Wen Wan: “…”

Well… not that pure.

Though she didn’t have any practical experience, her theoretical knowledge was pretty solid. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have thought to secretly pack a condom.

But now that her boyfriend had declared her “pure,” she figured it was better not to act too forward, just in case she scared him off.

At that moment, Wen Wan started to feel lucky she had grabbed the wrong backpack. If Lin Zhao had seen that package, the situation would’ve been way more awkward!

Yeah… best to take things slowly. The right moment would come eventually.

As for Jiang Li and Tong Yi… she had already called to warn them. Even if Jiang Li had picked up the wrong bag, it probably wouldn’t be a big deal, right?

Wen Wan sat quietly on the couch, letting Lin Zhao dry her hair, and stopped worrying.

After Wen Wan left the dorm, Jiang Li slowly got dressed, washed up, and put on some light makeup. Just as she finished getting ready, she received a call from Tong Yi.

When she grabbed her backpack and headed out, Jiang Li felt like it was a bit heavier than usual. But she didn’t think much of it. She figured it was because she hadn’t exercised much last month while busy with lab work, so she probably just wasn’t as strong as before.

She really should start working out again. Otherwise, when she sparred at home, she’d get completely wrecked all over again.

Just as she stepped downstairs, Tong Yi came over to take the bag from her hands and handed her a breakfast bag in exchange.

Once they left campus and got in the car, Jiang Li sat in the passenger seat and opened the food to eat while Tong Yi drove them to the beach, as they had planned a road trip.

After they arrived, Jiang Li felt that the noon sun was too harsh. Even the best skin couldn’t withstand the sun for too long, so she suggested they rest at the hotel first and go out to play in the evening.

After lunch, they went to the hotel they had booked. Jiang Li noticed Tong Yi had indeed chosen a suite and couldn’t resist teasing him, “You should’ve booked a standard room—it’d be much cheaper.”

Back in junior high, Tong Yi used to call her a little money-grubber, so of course she had to live up to that image.

Tong Yi was already used to her odd sense of humor. “Want to downgrade? I know the hotel owner well. We can switch to a standard room anytime.”

Jiang Li replied quickly, “If you know the owner, they probably gave you a friend discount anyway. The suite shouldn’t be expensive. No need to change.”

Tong Yi poked her cheek. “Jiang Xiao Li, don’t tell me… you’re scared?”

Jiang Li grabbed his hand and yanked him closer, then blew softly against his neck, “What do you think?”

Seeing his Adam’s apple bob and the look in his eyes deepen, Jiang Li suddenly let go of him and smiled, “Help me unpack—I’m going to take a nap.”

Tong Yi: “…”

He knew it. Jiang Xiao Li was always one to flirt and tease, only to flee afterward.

With a sigh, Tong Yi accepted his fate and picked up the black backpack from the sofa, pulling items out one by one. Looking at the countless bottles and containers, he couldn’t help asking, “You don’t even wear much makeup. What do you need all this stuff for?”

Jiang Li was lounging on the couch with her legs crossed, looking lazy and relaxed. “Who told you I don’t wear makeup?”

Tong Yi leaned closer to study her face. “Did you wear makeup today?”

Jiang Li asked curiously, “You can’t tell if I did or not?”

Tong Yi answered confidently, “Of course I can. You wore makeup when you were a bridesmaid for my aunt—it looked really good.”

Back then, Jiang Li hadn’t even turned seventeen yet. The moment he saw her in makeup and a bridesmaid dress, he’d felt like his soul had left his body. After that, he’d even grabbed the bouquet his aunt had dropped and foolishly tried to give it to her, making a fool of himself.

When Jiang Li heard him bring up that memory from years ago, she couldn’t help but laugh. “You said before that it was at your aunt’s wedding that you fell for me. So if I hadn’t been wearing makeup or a dress back then, would you still have fallen for me?”

Tong Yi responded immediately, “I wouldn’t say I fell for you at that moment—more like, that was when I realized how I felt. There’s a difference.”

Jiang Li nodded seriously. “Oh? In the end, it’s still all about the face, huh?”

“Absolutely not!” Tong Yi denied. “Even if someone had the exact same face, as long as she’s not you, Jiang Xiao Li, I wouldn’t even look at her.”

Jiang Li stopped teasing and returned to the earlier topic. “Haven’t you been helping me clear my shopping cart for the past two years? Didn’t you notice I’ve been buying a lot of makeup?”

Tong Yi replied honestly, “I just hit the pay button. I don’t look through everything one by one. Otherwise, you’d definitely say I was invading your privacy.”

Hearing that, Jiang Li didn’t doubt him. Tong Yi had always respected her privacy. Even though her phone had his fingerprint registered long ago, he had never once snooped through it.

Tong Yi lightly tapped her cheek with a finger. “I feel like… maybe you’re not that good at makeup. How about I learn it and help you with it in the future?”

Jiang Li looked at him expressionlessly. “You should just go pack my things.”

A guy who couldn’t even tell if she was wearing makeup wanted to do her makeup? If she actually let him do that, she’d end up looking stage-ready for an opera performance!

Seeing her reject the idea without hesitation, Tong Yi looked a little disappointed. He ruffled her hair before obediently returning to organize the backpack.

Two minutes later, Tong Yi suddenly widened his eyes in disbelief. After a long pause, he turned to Jiang Li with a hesitant expression, as if trying to find the right words.

Jiang Li noticed his gaze and asked curiously, “What’s wrong?”

His expression was especially unnatural. “You… you could’ve just hinted at it. I would’ve prepared.”

Jiang Li didn’t understand what he was talking about, so she glanced at the backpack in his hands. When she saw what Tong Yi had taken out, she frowned—because those things clearly weren’t hers. They belonged to Wen Wan.

No wonder she’d thought the bag felt a bit heavier this morning!

Wen Wan, that scatterbrain, had tripped over the chair earlier and knocked both of their bags to the floor. She must’ve picked up the wrong one without even checking.

But Wen Wan wasn’t entirely to blame. She had also been careless and, without double-checking before leaving, had unknowingly taken Wen Wan’s backpack.

Still, even if the bags got switched, girls’ stuff tended to be pretty similar. So why was this guy making such a weird face?

Noticing that his hand was still in the bag, Jiang Li leaned closer, only to see that he was holding a small rose-red box.

“What’s inside that box?” Jiang Li asked.

Tong Yi’s eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze deepening. “You don’t know?”

Jiang Li shook her head. “Of course not. That’s Wen—”

Before she could finish, Tong Yi suddenly leaned in, reached behind her head, and pulled her close.

Jiang Li couldn’t even remember how she got from the living room to the bed in the bedroom. Lying there, she gently pushed against Tong Yi’s shoulder and asked, “Shouldn’t you take a shower first?”

Tong Yi’s voice was low and husky. “I showered this morning before we left. Your man is very clean.”

Jiang Li: “…”

It wasn’t really about cleanliness. It’s just that, in all the dramas and novels, guys always showered before things got intimate. That’s just how it went.

She whispered, “But… we don’t have it…”

She didn’t mind taking things further with Tong Yi, but safety was a must. If they were careless here, the consequences would be very serious.

Tong Yi kissed her lightly, then pulled out the rose-red box and said quietly, “You already packed it ahead of time, and now you’re playing dumb?”

Jiang Li: “…”

The moment she saw the label on the package, she finally understood why Tong Yi had been acting so weird all day.

She thought back to Wen Wan saying she was going to “test” Lin Zhao, insisting on keeping it a secret until after their trip. Jiang Li had found that odd, but she hadn’t expected this kind of ridiculousness.

Test, really?

This is a full-on charge into battle!

As for Tong Yi, once he heard the battle horn, he transformed instantly into Commander Tong, leaving Jiang Li feeling like she barely recognized him.

Jiang Li knew full well that if she stopped now and told him the bag belonged to Wen Wan, and that the items inside weren’t hers, Tong Yi would back off immediately.

But… should she stop?

The mood felt just right.

Let’s just go with the flow.
