Chapter 1124, Before the Medicine Shop

That young man was none other than Qin Yichen.

At his side was Mei Ler, who, facing so many unusual stares fixed upon her, appeared rather on edge.

Though she could be considered someone who had seen a fair share of the world, those she had faced back in the Elf Forest had been merchants from various Races. But the people gathered here, each and every one of them, were powerful experts who had carved out their place in the continent through their own ability alone.

Even without any of these experts deliberately directing their attention toward her, the sheer weight of their collective aura was still enough to make Mei Ler feel greatly oppressed.

“Ah?” Just as Mei Ler’s face was beginning to pale slightly, a warm hand quietly took hold of her jade hand, and Mei Ler’s slender frame gave an involuntary tremble.

Looking at the figure beside her, not especially imposing in stature, yet somehow capable of giving her a feeling of solid, reassuring safety, Mei Ler struggled briefly within herself, then chose silence. She did not pull her hand away. Only her cheeks had grown a bit pink.

“Is that the one?”

“*Siii…*, he really has someone from the Charming Fox Race…”

“His identity cannot be simple. Why would someone like that get involved in something so reckless?”

With the arrival of Qin Yichen and his party, countless gazes swung toward them all at once. Having initially assumed this would be nothing more than some ordinary swindler, more than a few people found a flicker of genuine surprise pass through their eyes upon catching sight of Qin Yichen’s bearing.

Even so, the majority still held little faith in their hearts regarding the so-called universal Pill described in the news.

In no more than a moment, Li Shan and the others had come to a halt before an extremely modest-looking shop.

“Brother Qin, this is our Giant Elephant Race’s shop here in the city, and we are gifting it to you for free today. We hope you will not find it too shabby.” Xiang Linzi smiled and said to Qin Yichen beside him.

Within Myriad Beasts City, not a single shop came cheaply, not even those located in the thinly-populated Medicine Market.

However, the shops that were here rarely ever opened their doors, for beyond the Medicine Race, the Pills produced by other Races across the continent were largely self-sufficient by nature.

This particular shop had been tidied up overnight on Xiang Linzi’s orders, and while it still looked rather sparse, at least it was no longer covered in dust.

“My thanks, Brother Xiang.”

Qin Yichen gave a slight nod and a light laugh, making no move to decline.

He understood fully well that even though the majority still harboured doubts about him, Xiang Linzi and Li Shan had personally tested things themselves and were convinced beyond all question. This eagerness to please him came down to nothing more than hoping they could procure more Pills from him in the days ahead.

Immediately after, Qin Yichen walked directly onto the platform that had already been set up in front of the shop, while Xiang Linzi, Li Shan, and the others stationed themselves respectfully on either side of the platform, as though they were guards standing watch.

This posture caused more than a few people’s pupils to contract.

Behind Li Shan and Xiang Linzi stood a First Tier Race, nothing less.

Within their respective Races, both were the outstanding talents of the younger generation. And yet here they were, lowering themselves to such a degree. It was genuinely startling.

“*Hmph!* To go to such lengths for the sake of the performance, they truly spare no effort.”

Even so, there were those who let out a cold snort, a touch of scorn flickering in their eyes.

“My gratitude to all of you for coming!”

Qin Yichen stood atop the platform and let his gaze sweep across the entire gathering, his voice ringing out clearly.

But in response to his words, only a meagre handful of replies came back to him. The rest watched on with cold eyes, and quite a few were still murmuring amongst themselves, as though they had looked straight through him entirely.

At this, Qin Yichen’s expression stiffened ever so slightly, though this was hardly beyond what he had anticipated.

Some distance away from the shop where Qin Yichen stood, there was a tall and imposing inn.

The location of this inn placed it already within Myriad Beasts City’s inner district, and from the windows of that inn, the entire scene of the Medicine Market below could be taken in at a single glance.

At this moment, across the upper floors of the inn, a number of figures sat within, their gazes turned toward the Medicine Market, each of them bearing a look of rather interested curiosity.

Every single one of these figures represented a Force no weaker than the Giant Spirit Race or its peers, and the higher the floor, the more exclusively it was reserved for those of the most prestigious standing.

On the topmost floors, it was territory that only those from the Top Tier Races had the standing to enter.

And at this moment, across the floors closest to the very top, four or five private rooms were occupied, each of them with one or several figures of remarkable bearing seated within.

“Heh, this young man does have some composure.”

In one private room, a golden-haired young man watched Qin Yichen on the platform below with cool eyes, and let out a cold laugh.

“He is nothing but a leaping clown seeking attention. Someone will go and expose him soon enough.”

Seated across from him, a young man dressed in blue robes gave a quiet, unhurried shake of his head, and said with a faint smile.

“*Hmph.* Truly blind. To think he has set his sights on Pills of all things, does he not know that this is the Medicine Race’s territory?”

The golden-haired young man let out a dismissive laugh, then asked the blue-robed man across from him casually, “Qing Luan, have you managed to meet with Lord Mo Sheng?”

“Ha ha…” At hearing his question, the blue-robed young man suddenly broke into open laughter.

At his manner, the golden-haired young man’s expression visibly soured, though it was evident the other’s standing was no lower than his own, so he found it difficult to show displeasure outright.

“Even your Golden Flame Race failed to accomplish that. How could I have managed it?”

After a long while, the blue-robed young man finally reined in his laughter and said, “Jin Mi, you already have plenty of rivals. Do not count me among them.”

“Brother Qing Luan worries too much, I was merely expressing concern for you. Lord Qingxuan’s time should be drawing near, and when that day comes, your Race will have no Supreme Expert left to hold things together.”

Hearing this, the golden-haired young man also gave a faint laugh and said.

“That is not something Brother Jin needs to concern himself over.”

The blue-robed young man replied with composure, leaving the meaning behind his words entirely unreadable.

And at this moment, atop the platform at the Medicine Market, Qin Yichen, undeterred by the surrounding atmosphere, continued speaking: “Here, we will be selling Pills that work universally for every Race. These Pills…”

“Hmph, who is this arrogant fool? How dare you speak such bold claims of a Pill that works for every Race!”

But before Qin Yichen’s words had even fully left his mouth, a cold snort abruptly cut through the crowd.

Immediately after, the crowd ahead parted to open a passage, and five or six figures walked out from within.

Qin Yichen’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked at the figures who had appeared so suddenly. They appeared to be no older than twenty-four or twenty-five, and what surprised him was the distinct fluctuation of considerable Spiritual Energy that he sensed from each of them.

Even the weakest among them was the equivalent of an Earth Grade Alchemist Master among the Human Race, and the one at their head was radiating a vast, concealed aura that had clearly already reached the Peak of the Earth Grade.

Such Spiritual Energy, even placed among the Human Race, would mark one as an outstanding talent in the ranks of young Alchemist Masters.
