Chapter 348: THIRD-PARTY KING
Chapter 348: THIRD-PARTY KING
Inside Lesrath’s room, five hours ago...
Lesarath swung his diamond punch at Kumigano’s tail with full power and a loud explosion tore through the air.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
...
As the dust settled, Lesarath stood tall over Kumigano, who lay on the ground barely breathing, his tail completely shattered.
"BHAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN..." Lesarath shouted as he raised his hand, the diamond covering his right fist slowly reforming into the shape of a spear.
He raised it high and brought it down with full speed.
*SWISHHHH*
"NOOOOOO!" Leon’s voice rang out as he appeared directly over Kumigano’s body in an instant.
Lesarath’s hand halted. He took a step back, staring at Leon with a puzzled expression.
’What is it thou art doing? I must slay Kumigano lest he recover ere long. Step away from his body!’
"You asked why I was helping you..." Leon spoke, his expression dead serious. "Here’s your answer. I want to kill Kumigano."
’Thou wishest to slay Kumigano? But how canst thou hope to slay him with that small vessel of thine?’
"I’ll take care of that. I did you a favour by healing you now it’s time to pay the favour back."
Leon reached into his inventory and pulled out a leather bag without another word. He walked up to Kumigano’s face and glanced back at Lesarath.
"Can you open its mouth?"
Lesarath said nothing. He simply reached down and forced Kumigano’s jaw open with both hands.
*Stretch—*
"Good." Leon smiled. "Last dinner, motherfucker. Open wide."
He flipped the bag upside down into Kumigano’s open mouth.
Thousands of wooden beads — each one enchanted with a complete six-hundred-layer Blast Seal — poured in all at once.
’What is it thou art doing? Is that poison within that small pouch of thine? For Kumigano cannot be slain by poison alone.’
"It’s not poison." Leon replied as he emptied the bag completely and began walking away. "Don’t worry. Though this is around an hour of my work, I never thought I’d dump in one place like this."
He paused and looked back at Lesarath.
"You can let go of its mouth now and move back. The explosion could be massive — I’ve never tested this many together before."
Lesarath stepped back without question, watching from a distance. Ready to slay Kumigano if he survives.
Leon slipped behind a sturdy obsidian mountain and his heartbeat began to spike.
’In most RPGs, whoever lands the last hit on a monster gets the experience points... and if that holds true here,’
His hand clenched tight.
’I’m looking at an ocean of experience points.’
He exhaled slowly.
"Kaboom."
*ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ*
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
....
The explosions were deafening. The ground shook without stopping for two full minutes, and a blinding light swallowed everything in Leon’s vision.
When it finally faded and the trembling stopped, Leon slowly opened his eyes. A sharp ringing hammered inside his ears, over and over.
*Ting — Ting — Ting — Ting — Ting—*
Then the windows came. Hundreds of them, flooding his vision all at once.

"It worked..." Leon whispered as a wide smile appeared over his face. Then it hit him all at once.
"FUCKING HELL IT WORKEDDDDD! FUCK YESSSSSS!" He shouted loudly.

"Holy fucking shit... Level 125."
His eyes went wide.
’Thou art stronger than thou appear... Might I have the pleasure of knowing thy name?’ Lesarath’s voice drifted into his head.
"Leon. Leon Luster." He replied, keeping his expression flat.
’Well done in slaying Kumigano, Leon Luster. I, Lesrath, wouldst bestow upon thee a reward worthy of thy deeds.’
Lesarath turned and began walking away.
Leon stepped out from behind the obsidian mountain. His eyes swept over what remained of Kumigano. The face was completely obliterated from the blast, but the rest of the enormous body was still intact.
"Wait... is that—?"
A small white light hovered directly above Kumigano’s corpse, faint but unmistakable.
"Hahaha... That soul fragment is mine."
He sprinted toward it at full speed. The moment he got close, its glow surged brighter.
<Soul Collector>
The fragment was drawn in instantly.
"Nexus. I just sent in another soul fragment — tell me about it."
’Hmm... This is a very strong soul fragment. It will be really hard to turn it into one of your soul realm’s guards, but I will try my best.’
"Good." Leon’s smile widened as his eyes drifted back to the massive carcass. "In the meantime, I’ll make use of the body."

Back to present—
"So... not only did you make friends with an SS-rank monster, you also killed one master?"
Dusk stared at him, equal parts shocked and impressed.
"That’s why your aura was completely different when you walked out of that room."
"Well, yeah." Leon shrugged with a grin. "Though I’d say it was a mutual effort. I just stole his kill. Hehe."
Their steps slowed as they reached the base of the World Tree.
"What should I ask it, master?" Dusk looked up at it, uncertain.
"Ask it..." Leon replied, his gaze fixed on the tree, "...if there’s any way to take it to the dungeon’s exit without actually carrying it in my hands."
