Chapter 400: Fly
Chapter 400: Fly
*Pull*
Leon yanked his blade free from the dead girl’s corpse, flicking the blood away as he locked eyes with one of the animated statues.
“I could butcher every single one of them standing here and not even bat an eye,” Leon said, his grin widening into something feral.
“The real question is… do you want to lose your precious little soldiers ?”
“I can afford to lose a few if it means getting you in return,” the statue replied. A cruel smile stretched across its stone features as it raised a hand. Sparks danced across its palm before erupting into a roaring sphere of flame.
‘They can use magic?!’ Leon’s grin vanished, replaced by a razor-sharp seriousness.
“Oh… did I forget to mention?” the statue mocked. “I can use their skills, too.” With a violent snap of its wrist, the statue hurled the fireball straight at Leon.
*BOOM!*
The projectile detonated directly against Leon’s chest, throwing up a cloud of smoke and sparks. But as the haze cleared, he stood completely unscathed. The steelweb armor hadn’t allowed a single point of damage to bleed through.
“My turn,” Leon muttered, his eyes gleaming.
Instantly, invisible lines of mana tethered themselves to the floating Nyxter’s blades, raising the weapons into the air around him like a halo of steel.
Leon raised both hands, framing the battlefield, and brought them together.
*CLAP!*
At the sound of the impact, the blades whipped through the air in every direction.
*SWISH-SWISH-SWISH-SWISH-SWISH!*
*THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD!*
Five statues were violently pierced directly through the center of their foreheads. They collapsed instantly, their stone skin peeling back to reveal the lifeless human forms underneath.
“No compassion even for your own race? Aren’t you just a ruthless killer?” an archer’s statue called out from a thick branch above.
*Swish!*
The archer loosed a rapid volley of flame-coated arrows from the shadows. Without looking, Leon flicked his fingers, pulling the mana threads backward to snap the Nyxter’s blades into a defensive wall.
*CLANK-CLANK-CLANK-CLANK-CLANK-CLANK!*
“You’re fast, but what if you’re hit from long range and short range simultaneously?” a massive, hulking statue boomed.
The behemoth charged forward, tearing up the ground with full-speed strides, while the remaining archers rained down a barrage of arrows from all sides.
Leon closed his eyes. The floating blades dropped instantly and the mana threads wrapped tight against his torso.
Giving up conscious control of his limbs, Leon let the mana threads take over, turning his body into a puppet operated by pure instinct.
He swayed, twisted, and bent at impossible angles dodging the hail of arrows by mere millimeters and letting the charging behemoth plow harmlessly past him.
“How are you doing that?!” Gorgonia shrieked from the sidelines, her expression twisted in sheer confusion.
“Your eyes are closed! How are you moving like that?!”
*STEP-STEP-STEP-STEP-STEP!*
The heavy vibration of rushing footsteps echoed through Leon’s heightened perception. Opening his eyes, he saw four massive statues closing in on him from four different directions, boxing him in.
*HUP!*
Coiling his legs, he launched himself straight up, landing gracefully on a high tree branch, right next to another archer statue.
“Wha” The archer gasped, frantically trying to pivot its bow toward him.
*SWISH!*
“Hello,” Leon whispered with a cold smile.
*STAB!*
He rammed one of the Nyxter’s blade clean through the archer’s skull.
*THUD.*
The corpse rolled off the branch. But before it could even hit the forest floor, the four charging statues collided at the base of the tree, violently crushing their ally’s body into a messy heap of meat and stone mush.
*THUD-THUD-THUD-THUD!*
“Phew… that must’ve hurt,” Leon remarked, his expression turning entirely neutral.
‘It’s been a while. Dusk must have reached the dungeon by now,’ he thought, glancing toward the horizon. ‘I need to get moving.’
He turned and began sprinting across the canopy, leaping from branch to branch.
“He’s escaping! CATCH HIM!” Gorgonia screamed.
A hail of arrows pursued him, shredding the leaves around him as the ground forces bolted after his shadow.
Leon didn’t look back. He just activated his next skill on the run.
With every leap, the gravitational pull on his body drastically plummeted, drastically extending the distance of his jumps.
…
[Current Body Weight: 1%]
‘Perfect. Now for the setup—’
“Oh, wait… I almost forgot to pair it. Strengthen,” Leon muttered, invoking his physical reinforcement skill.
As power surged through his muscles, Leon intentionally dropped from the trees, landing softly on the open ground below.
“What’s wrong, kid? Can’t run anymore? Tired?” the statues mocked, surrounding him almost instantly.
“You know what? I changed my mind. I’m going to kill every last one of you,” Leon said, his smile returning, sharp and venomous.
“I was in a great mood heading home, but you bastards just had to ruin it. Memorize my face. You’ll be seeing it again very soon.”
Leon brought his foot down, stomping the earth with the full, reinforced might of his Body Enchantment, while his weight remained at a mere 1%.
*Thud.*
*PHEWWWWWWWWWW!*
The sheer kinetic reaction launched his near-weightless body into the sky like a surface-to-air missile.
“What the?! How is he flying all of a sudden?!” Gorgonia gaped, watching helplessly as Leon’s figure pierced the cloud line and vanished.
….
In the clouds,
“FUCKKKKKK! I NEED A DIRECTIONAL SKILL! I’M GOING TO FLY STRAIGHT INTO SPACE AT THIS RATE!” Leon screamed.
He broke through the upper atmosphere. The temperature plummeted instantly, and the air thinned to nothingness as the sky began to turn a terrifying, starry black.

“LEARN THE FUCKING SKILL! THERE IS FUCKING ICE FORMING ON MY NOSE!”
[Congratulations! You have learned-]
“FLY!” Leon bellowed, thrusting his hands beneath him.
A violent, compressed blast of air erupted from his palms. Because his body weight was still next to nothing, the counter-force instantly halted his upward momentum and propelled him back down at the exact same breakneck speed.
‘I need to stabilize this!’ Leon thought in a panic.
Twisting his body mid-air, he tucked his arms tight against his sides to streamline his descent, using micro-bursts of wind to adjust his trajectory. Another sudden gust caught him, flipping him cleanly until he was aligned parallel to the earth, rocketing back down toward the Vandiem kingdom.
