Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2262: Race changes (2)

Chapter 2262: Race changes (2)

Because Qiuqiu had taken a peak expert's attack for Ye Zhongming, it had for the first time entered a state where it could not move. Ye Zhongming tried to put it back into his space to recover, only to find that the creature could no longer enter at all.

So Ye Zhongming had no choice but to carry it on his back so that he could tend to it and keep an eye on it at all times.

Qiuqiu's defensive power was beyond question. Now it seemed that although it still could not withstand a peak expert, once Ye Zhongming became a great expert and Qiuqiu grew stronger along with him, it should be able to.

This little thing's tough constitution was no joke.

Of course, there was also its gluttonous nature, almost rivaling that of the elemental spirits.

The little thing was very picky, but as long as it could eat something, it would not refuse. Later, Ye Zhongming had simply "free-ranged" it; partly because he was busy and Qiuqiu also loved its freedom, but partly also because he could barely afford to keep it.

After all, all the good things in Ye Zhongming's hands had their uses; he could not give everything to Qiuqiu alone.

Now Ye Zhongming truly felt a sense of "oh crap" inside. This creature had actually extended its white threads into his spatial equipment. How had it done that?!

While he was still alive, even his own battle pet should not have been able to open his spatial equipment!

Ye Zhongming was now very worried about an accident.

During the fight with Kunzuo, Ye Zhongming had snapped off one of the man's hands, and because it had a spatial ring on it, the Cloud Peak King's greed had flared up at that moment. He had only thought that a peak expert's entire fortune would make him rich beyond measure, without considering anything else. Fearing he might drop the ring, he had directly placed Kunzuo's severed hand into his own space.

After the battle, when he tried to use his spatial equipment, he suddenly discovered that it could not be opened.

Ye Zhongming immediately realized the reason.

Orderly chaos caused by spatial overlap.

Although he maintained a calm expression while discussing matters with everyone else, inside he had already cursed himself ten thousand times for being an idiot.

To make such a stupid mistake; he had truly been blinded by Moonspan Gold. Although it was understandable, given that he was carrying a debt in the tens of billions, it was still far too amateurish.

There was another thing Ye Zhongming had overlooked; or rather, a second mistake he had made: when a peak expert died, their body would collapse, turning into the most primal energy and returning to the universe.

But he had placed the severed hand of a still-living peak expert into his space. What if, as the body died and crumbled, its energy burst through the spatial equipment?

This had caused Ye Zhongming, even while talking to others, to constantly monitor his spatial equipment, terrified that it might explode or cause other dangers from disorderly energy. The loss of control of spatial energy was no small matter—not just for people like them, but even a peak expert might not be able to withstand it, and they could be sucked somewhere by spatial forces.

But fortunately, for some reason, his spatial equipment had remained quiet throughout—it just could not be opened.

Ye Zhongming had already made up his mind: when he returned this time, he would definitely visit the Library Palace and ask if there was any way to open the spatial ring. Because both his own private collection and Kunzuo's spatial ring contained far too much value.

But Qiuqiu's sudden movement left him somewhat bewildered.

What was he supposed to do?

Just let Qiuqiu keep sucking? But who knew how deep this creature would go; what if it triggered the spatial ring, which had been relatively calm, to explode?

Ye Zhongming stopped walking, and the others stopped too. Although the Cloud Peak King was relatively low in strength here, he was truly the core.

So everyone noticed Qiuqiu's abnormality.

After a series of exclamations laced with profanity, they all agreed that this matter was for Ye Zhongming to handle himself. All they did was find a transport vehicle and lock Ye Zhongming inside so that no one else could see.

The Cloud Peak King: "..."

Inside the transport vehicle, Ye Zhongming and Qiuqiu engaged in arduous negotiations.

"Qiuqiu? What are you doing?"

"Gugu."

"Qiuqiu, are you eating something?"

"Gugu."

"Qiuqiu, is there any danger in my space?"

"Gugu."

"Qiuqiu, can you pause for a moment and let me check your condition?"

"Gugu."

"Can you stop gugu-gugu-ing? Are you an old hen?"

"Gu."

"..."

Ye Zhongming wanted to "gu" too, but he had to give up.

He could feel that the ship coming to pick everyone up had arrived, and the transport vehicle started moving. They must have been transferred aboard.

But they did not immediately depart to the outer-space spaceport; instead, they stayed there for a while, and after launching, they did not ascend continuously but flew normally.

Ye Zhongming knew this was probably because the news of the Huo'er Star people's total annihilation and the deaths of two peak experts had broken out, and the entire cosmic races of the universe must have been shaken by it.

And in fact, it was indeed so, and far more serious than Ye Zhongming had anticipated.

When the various races' spacecraft waiting in outer space received the news, they were stunned for several good minutes.

Every peak expert was a figure of immense power and authority, controlling the life and death of countless people and the rise and fall of races.

But on the planet battlefield, two had died at once.

Or to put it another way that better conveyed the severity of the situation: in this planet hunting ground, only two peak experts had come in total, and both had died.

The two dead peak experts belonged respectively to the Huo'er Star people and the Reina Star people, the two races that were tied for first in overall strength among the cosmic races of the universe.

Thus, many realized that this matter would cause an uproar.

Even for supermajor races like the Huo'er Star people and the Reina Star people, a peak expert might emerge only once every several decades or even a century, and the resources required to cultivate such a person were astronomical.

One could imagine how shocked and enraged they would be upon learning the news.

Then came other news after the peak experts' deaths; equally shocking!

A prince from each of the Huo'er Star people and the Reina Star people had died here! One had been about to become the son-in-law of another supermajor race, and the other was the fifth in line of succession, with a strong chance of becoming a leader of his race or even the universe!

The Huo'er Star forces had been completely wiped out! No survivors!

The Su Clan had suffered heavy losses, having been attacked by a mutated lifeform beast horde and a parasite swarm, forcing them to break out of the encirclement and abandon their base. Even so, their mortality rate had exceeded forty percent, and their severe injury rate was ninety percent!

The Reina Star people had also been forced to relocate their base; their strength was relatively intact, but all those who had died were their most important figures.

These mixed messages, both true and false, were relayed back to the myriad races of the universe by those here, and chaos erupted immediately. All media and communication channels were reporting on the incident, and all kinds of speculation poured in.

This upheaval reached its climax when the Huo'er Star people issued a statement.

In summary, the Huo'er Star people's stance had three points:

First, all lifeforms and races that had participated in the planet hunting ground were to remain in outer space around the planet, awaiting investigation.

Second, a Cosmic Race Council was to be convened, and the clan chiefs of all races must attend.

Third, a thorough search was to be conducted on all members of the Star-Eye Clan and the Su Clan who had participated in this battle. After inspection, all their mid- and high-ranking personnel were to be escorted to the venue of the Cosmic Race Council to provide an explanation for this matter.
