Chapter 2337: Bronze camp decision

Chapter 2337: Bronze camp decision

Within the Star-Eye Clan, there was a very special place: the Bronze Camp.

It was originally Ye Zhongming's domain.

From the moment he had first arrived and taken control, to nearly a year of growing stronger alongside him, the people here had gone from rejecting him to accepting him, and finally to revering him—truly seeing him as their leader.

But the more they felt this way, the more lost they became at this moment.

Everyone sensed the shift in the clan's attitude toward Ye Zhongming.

Many warriors didn't have complicated thoughts—their thinking was simple: whoever treated them well, whoever helped them grow stronger, whoever was worthy of their trust, they would follow.

They trusted Ye Zhongming, and that trust had been proven and rewarded in multiple battles.

The atmosphere in the room was heavy. Zhong Hongke sat in the upper seat, while the others scattered around.

Wu Qian and the others exchanged glances, none willing to speak first.

"The clan held a meeting with the various race leaders—all the high-level members went, but our Order Leader wasn't invited." A thousand-man captain spoke, his tone calm, but his discontent was unmistakable.

"Of course they couldn't invite him—if he went, they couldn't do what they wanted." Another thousand-man captain chimed in, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Deputy Order Leader, I heard they're sending someone down from above?" Jie Kui, who had been silent in the corner, suddenly asked.

He was one of Ye Zhongming's direct followers and hadn't wanted to attend this meeting. Whatever consensus they reached—if it was against Ye Zhongming, he would oppose it; if it was in his favor, he would support it. With his stance so clear, what difference did it make whether he came? In fact, his presence might stop others from speaking their true minds.

Still, he had been dragged here by the others—perhaps that was also the attitude of these thousand-man captains.

Zhong Hongke looked up and nodded. "Not one, but four. One will be deputy order leader, one will take the position of the sixth thousand-man captain who died in battle. The other two... will join the Assault Camp reserve, filling the spots left by Waiaiger and Zhengqu, who also fell."

At this, the room erupted. The thousand-man captains and the two Assault Camp commanders—both regular and deputy—all burst into heated discussion. Their stance was unanimous: opposition.

Even though Ye Zhongming was still the Bronze Order Leader, they were already bypassing him to insert their own people into the Bronze Camp? That was blatantly disrespecting him—and disrespecting the Bronze Camp’s people too.

After the planet hunting ground, the Bronze Camp had performed exceptionally well—truly tempered, with the entire unit transformed. In their expectations, within two years they could reach the former Silver Camp’s level, perhaps even surpassing it.

But those hopes were dashed by the clan's changing attitude toward Ye Zhongming. The Bronze Camp warriors suddenly didn't know where they stood.

Hearing that the clan was now meddling with their appointments, their anger was understandable.

"I know what you're thinking, and honestly, I feel the same." Zhong Hongke spoke, quieting the room.

"Order Leader has never done anything to wrong the clan, yet he's been treated unfairly for no reason. It's baffling, infuriating—even disheartening."

"But what should we do now? March to the two clan leaders and confront them? Or just follow Order Leader to his manor and completely cut ties with the Star-Eye Clan?"

Everyone listened, but no solution came to mind.

"If we were the Gold Camp, I wouldn't be sitting here discussing this—I'd take you straight to the clan leader. As long as Order Leader hasn't betrayed the clan, no one should make him suffer unjustly!"

"But can we do that now?" Zhong Hongke's face reddened slightly.

"We've all grown a lot recently, and we've been equipped by Order Leader. We even learned the Su Clan's ancient formation buffs. But honestly—setting aside the Golden Camp, could we even beat the Silver Camp?"

The deputy order leader, whose Furelai was nearing twenty thousand, looked around the room. No one dared answer affirmatively.

The Bronze Camp had improved, but the Silver Camp had also progressed. Maybe their improvement wasn't as dramatic, but they had a stronger foundation—there was no way to surpass them at this stage.

"So the truth is, we're still too weak. We have no voice in the clan—there are plenty of people stronger than us!"

"If we rebel outright, not only will it fail, but it'll look like Order Leader instigated us, making the rift between him and the clan even worse."

Hearing this, many looked solemn.

"So we just do nothing?" someone frowned. "Just watch the clan slowly take over our camp and tear down everything Order Leader built?"

Zhong Hongke looked at him. "Let me ask you: would you betray the Star-Eye Clan for Order Leader?"

It was a difficult question—not just for that person, but for everyone.

Betray their own race for the Order Leader? That seemed... not right. Then side with the Star-Eye Clan against him? That also seemed... not right.

"See? Our answer is clear. So I have an idea." Zhong Hongke began to lay out a compromise he had long considered.

"For now, the whole camp should stay put. I think everyone understands—acting now would likely backfire. But Jie Kui, and the Assault Camp brothers—any who wish to—can go to Order Leader's side, tell him our thoughts, express our trust, and let him know we'll be waiting for him to come back and lead us."

Zhong Hongke waved his hand. "As for the rest of us, we focus on training—get stronger as fast as we can. When the day comes that we have a voice in the clan, that's when we'll welcome Order Leader back!"

………………

Outside the door, Cheng Liujin and White Robe listened, then turned and left silently.

"Are you going to Cloud Peak Manor tomorrow?" White Robe asked Cheng Liujin beside him.

"No." Cheng Liujin's answer surprised White Robe.

At this point, he and Cheng Liujin were the two strongest supporters of Ye Zhongming in the clan. But support couldn't just be talk—action was needed, and tomorrow night was the perfect chance.

"You..." White Robe raised an eyebrow, about to lose his temper.

"I feel like I'm about to break through—could happen any day. So I can't be wandering around for a while." Cheng Liujin said with a grin.

White Robe's face lit up. "Really?"

"Of course—I wouldn't joke about something like that." Cheng Liujin sighed. "After all these years, finally the day is here. And it couldn't have come at a better time."

"What Zhong Hongke said is right—power gives you a voice. Once I become a great expert, if I want to punch someone, don't hold me back."

White Robe paused, then laughed heartily. "I won't. I'll join you."
