Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1224: Drained

Chapter 1224: Drained

The moment Amaya, Vin, and Brannic revealed their demon forms, the arena erupted in chaos.

Gasps, shouts, and whispers filled the air.

"Demons…!" one student cried, recoiling in horror.

"Impossible… they obtained Demon Blood?" another exclaimed, voice trembling. The Demon Blood wasn't easy to acquire after all. Furthermore, if they died, they wouldn't leave any blood traces. So obtaining their blood means that they had to be captured alive first!

Some students stared wide-eyed, shocked at their bravery.

Others frowned, disapproving of the choice. To them, demons were symbols of corruption, not something to be embraced.

Yet among the crowd, envy could be seen. A few clenched their fists, jealous that these three prodigies had dared to grasp such forbidden power.

Then, there were also a few who whispered with awe, unable to hide their admiration.

"They're insane," muttered one boy, shaking his head. "But look at that strength…"

"They'll burn out," another girl said, though her eyes gleamed with longing. "Still… if only I had that kind of transformation."

Professor Paterson, on the other hand, remained silent. Since Transformation Artists treated all forms as tools, he didn't mind it at all.

"So… you've chosen this path," Eryn said.

"We want to see how far we can go against the disciple of the Asura." Amaya replied.

"And this is the only way." Vin added as he clenched his fist.

"No mercy this time." Brannic said as if he was truly holding back.

The battle began once more.

The Demon Huntress moved first. Amaya's talons sliced through bark so swiftly… This strike was faster than her lynx form had ever allowed.

She moved from shadow to shadow, making those moving branches unable to catch her.

Then, Vin's wings beat with corrupted energy…

Soon, black feathers scattered as violet flames, followed by wind blades, were released!

Ssakk! Ssakk!

Brannic then charged. His Juggernaut form seemed a lot stronger, and soon, his bone gauntlets smashed into the trunk with devastating force.

Boom! Boom!

Each blow shook the arena and it didn't take long before more cracks spread across the stone floor.

Eryn staggered as he was attacked in all directions.

His treant body groaned under the assault, branches started snapping, roots were splintering, and he seemed to be in terrible condition.

Well, he had chosen this form to match the students, to teach them balance and patience. But against demon blood, patience was useless.

Still, he fought back.

Roots surged, whipping across the arena, branches crashing into arcane shields.

Bam!

He slammed the ground, sending tremors to disrupt their footing. Then, his bark hardened, glowing faintly with Arcane Energy.

But the demons laughed.

Amaya leapt. Her talons then carved through his defenses. "Professor! Are we doing well now?!"

Vin swooped in and his wings sliced through the roots. "Please don't use Divinity against us, alright?"

Brannic also roared, smashing through hardened bark. "Stop taunting the Professor!"

Well, he knew why those two were seemingly having fun. It was related to the Demon Essence they were using for the transformation. It was slowly affecting their minds.

Of course, Eryn didn't mind this. As for the Divinity, although he could use it, he would never do so against the students. After all, he couldn't produce it either. Whatever Divinity he had stored in his body, that was only obtained from their master. Once they were gone, they could never be recovered unless their master provided them once again.

However, in this human realm, recovering Divinity was not easy at all.

"Don't worry… I can still win." Eryn muttered, though the three didn't seem to hear his voice.

For now, the crowd gasped as they only saw how Eryn was being forced into a defensive position.

However, Eryn was simply considering how much power he had to release or whether he should actually change his Treant form to another.

After some thought, he made up his mind.

"I will not lose to children!" he roared.

His branches lashed out, catching Amaya, twisting Vin's dive, forcing Brannic back.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Roots surged, wrapping around the mole and boulder, dragging them aside. Poof!

The last two finally turned back to human form and were eliminated.

But the three demons just stood back up and attacked once again!

Amaya tried moving faster while chipping away the bark on the Treant's body.

Vin also focused on cutting off a smaller part of the branches as they planned to slowly weaken Eryn. Brannic, on the other hand, continued being annoying with his gauntlets smashing through the defenses.

Together, they struck

Bang!

Eryn's bark split, and sap started spilling like blood. His treant body trembled. Soon, more and more leaves were scattering as Vin's attack was piling up.

The crowd erupted in chaos. Some cheered as they couldn't help but admire that someone at their age would be so strong! Still, there were other students wishing for them to fail or get heavily injured in this battle!

"They're overpowering him!"

"Demons… they're too strong!"

"Hmph… They're just showing off."

Then, Professor Paterson's eyes narrowed. He knew this was dangerous. Demon forms were powerful, but unstable. The children weren't just burning their Arcane Energy too quickly. The Demon Essence might also be too ingrained in their bodies if they use this over the time limit.

"Tsk…"

Eryn, however, gritted his teeth. His treant form was not his strongest, but he refused to be humiliated. He poured more Arcane Energy into his roots, forcing them to surge with unnatural speed. Branches whipped like blades while roots slammed like hammers.

The arena became more chaotic but the three Demons fought well.

Their coordination was flawless…

Minutes passed and no one was admitting defeat. Unfortunately, the students were tiring out.

Amaya's crimson glow faded while Vin's wings trembled and landed to the ground… Even Brannic's gauntlets cracked at this point…

Then, it didn't take long before Eryn realized that he had to stop attacking.

Eryn saw it. His green eyes narrowed. "You are all incredible… However, make sure not to fall into madness. Don't use the Demonification unless necessary."

The three then exchanged glances and nodded.

"Yes!"

Just like that, their demon forms collapsed. They fell to their knees, panting, sweat dripping, and Arcane Energy drained.
