Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1242: Someone to be Sent Away!

Chapter 1242: Someone to be Sent Away!

Adam, the Golden Immortal, was not a stranger to Vale. He was a disciple of the Blood Soulcaster, one of the Paragons, and had once fought alongside Vale against the Chaos Immortals… or at the very least, against Mennena.

They were not friends, but at the very least, they were not enemies. In fact, Vale had considered Adam something close to a friend, a figure who was secretly protecting the realm in his own capacity.

But this was different.

Still, he felt confused.

As far as he remembered, Adam's mission had always been to eliminate Mennena, the Arch Fey. That task had already been completed, with Mennena sealed away.

Vale had assumed Adam would return to his own path, continuing the duties of the Paragons.

Yet here he was, standing among the coaching staff of Hervont Knights Academy.

Vale's eyes narrowed. 'Why would Adam be assisting another academy? Is this one of the Paragon's Academies?'

The thought made him a little concerned…

Was Adam truly teaching these students? Was he guiding their techniques, strengthening their Spell Models, perhaps even lending them fragments of his Divinity?

If so, then Hervont's knight trainees were not merely competitors, they were warriors shaped by one of the Paragons' disciples and could very well fight against his group of knight trainees.

Vale's students, blessed by Zerel the Ancient Lightning Dragon, were formidable. But Adam's presence tilted the balance in ways Vale could not ignore.

Still, Vale did not reach out. He did not call Adam's name, nor attempt to speak through telepathy.

Instead, he watched silently…

Vale's instincts told him caution was best. If Adam had chosen to involve himself in the tournament, then there was a reason, and for now, he'd just observe.

Still, he couldn't help but feel curious whether the Hervont knights his students were about to face had truly been trained by Adam himself.

The announcers called the next match, and the crowd's attention shifted.

From the Hervont Knights Academy stepped Gelo, a broad-shouldered trainee…

It was no longer unusual for 15 years old to be this tough because of the various drugs being spread everywhere…

Nonetheless, it could be seen that his armor gleamed with runic engravings, his longsword pulsing faintly with Arcane Energy, and without a doubt, he was one of Hervont's most promising students, trained under the empire's strict martial traditions.

Opposite him stood Jericho, one of Vale's three Knight Path trainees.

His armor was simpler, forged in Marshall Academy's newly established smithy, but arcs of faint lightning danced across its surface.

"Let's see which Foundational Spells are better." Vale muttered to himself…

Apparently, he recently received a report from the Bureau that the Harvont Knights Academy's three main spells were Steel Guard, Blade Channel, and Imperial Rally Spells.

The Steel Guard Spell, as the name implies, was a defensive spell that channels Arcane Energy into armor. The Blade Channel was a technique that infuses weapons with Arcane Energy, allowing strikes to cut deeper and resist breaking.

However, Imperial Rally was a supportive spell that boosts strength and stamina, often used in group battles but still effective in duels.

These three spells formed the backbone of Hervont's training, refined through centuries of imperial warfare.

Marshall Academy's Foundational Spells, on the other hand, were Arcane Infusion, Storm Step, and Dragon Guard.

Arcane Infusion was a spell that channels its own energy into weapons, causing not just weapons but also armors and accessories to become more durable and resistant against Spells.

Storm Step was a mobility spell that accelerates movement in short bursts and lastly, Dragon Guard Spell was a defensive spell provided by Zerel himself, but toned it down a little for humans' use…

Though Marshall Academy's Knight branch was new, these foundational spells were unique, shaped by the Dragon Blessing of Zerel.

The announcer's voice rang out: "Begin!"

The clash started immediately.

Gelo advanced with confidence, his longsword glowed as he activated Blade Channel.

"Ha!"

His strikes were heavy as he planned to overwhelm the tiny student from the Marshall Academy…

However, to his surprise, Jericho met him head-on with the help of Arcane Infusion!

Clank!

The first clash sent a shockwave across the arena…

Steel rang against steel. Sparks flew.

Gelo pressed forward, showing his true skills, as his imperial knight's defense allowed him to be a bit more reckless!

His armor could actually absorb most of Jericho's attacks! He could easily counterattack, forcing Jericho to retreat.

But Jericho's eyes remained calm. He realized that his Magic Zone was actually bigger than Gelo!

Thanks to that, his Storm Step allowed him to get out of Gelo's range so easily!

In an instant, he was behind Gelo!

Then, his strike landed against Gelo's shoulder!

Boom!

Gelo's armor protected him, but he wobbled. Soon, his Imperial Rally was activated and his stamina was restored. He turned around quickly with his longsword cutting through the air, forcing Jericho back.

The duel continued for some time…

Gelo's steady, disciplined strikes against Jericho's sudden bursts of speed and lightning energy.

"You can end this now… It's impressive, but I guess, Adam's not deeply involved, huh…" Vale muttered.

He could barely see Adam's influence in Gelo's movements. Still, the imperial footwork was sharper than most trainees… They could definitely win against other Academies but it was a pity that all the students he brought here had at least 20 Spirit Strands!

The Hervont Academy had no chance of winning at all.

Finally, Jericho invoked Dragon Guard. A thin barrier of lightning enveloped him, deflecting Gelo's blade as it descended.

Boom!

The crowd gasped as the strike rebounded harmlessly and sparks scattered across the arena.

Jericho seized the moment. His blade surged with Lightning Blessing, and his body was propelled by Storm Step.

He closed the distance in a flash and struck Gelo's chestplate with thunderous force.

The impact shattered the Steel Guard, and lightning coursed through Gelo's armor. The imperial knight wanted to gather more energy, perhaps to use his Forbidden Spell but Jericho ended it with a knee!

Thud!

Just like that, the announcer's voice rang out… "Victory! Jericho of Marshall Academy!"

Vale nodded as he expected them to win here.

Still, he took note of Jericho as another person or candidate to be sent to the Valor Realm!

After all, even if they couldn't conquer the realm discovered by Cyper and his team immediately, they could still send some young Arcanists to start exploring the place… and this competition would help him decide the three young Arcanists with less than 30 Spirit Strands to be sent to another realm!
