Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1309: A New Entity

Chapter 1309: A New Entity

Zorin picked up a small fragment of black stone and examined it carefully before showing it to the others.

“This wasn’t here before.”

Arkady immediately took the fragment from him.

The moment he touched it, his expression became serious.

“It’s part of the tower.”

Viktor frowned. “How did it get here?”

“I don’t know.”

Arkady turned the fragment over several times. Then his eyes suddenly widened.

“Wait.”

“What?” Viktor asked.

“This isn’t a broken piece.”

He pointed toward several tiny runes carved into its surface.

“It’s some kind of marker.”

Viktor’s expression darkened as he immediately thought of something…

“A marker for what?”

Arkady slowly looked back toward the tower.

“I don’t know. Let’s hope it’s not related to the prophesied otherworldly beings.”

Before anyone could say anything else, the black stone suddenly dissolved into dark mist.

Everyone froze.

The mist briefly flowed across Arkady’s palm before disappearing completely.

Nadezhda immediately grabbed his wrist.

“Are you all right?”

Arkady looked down at his hand.

“I’m fine.”

Then, despite the situation, a faint smile appeared on his face.

“Very interesting.”

Nadezhda’s expression immediately became frustrated.

“Stop saying that!”

Viktor ignored their argument. His attention remained fixed on the tower.

They had already learned enough.

The tower possessed an unknown energy system, powerful formations, and an army of strange black-armored creatures. It was constructed from materials none of them could identify, and whoever controlled it clearly knew that they were being watched.

“We’re leaving.”

Arkady opened his mouth to protest, but Viktor raised his hand.

“No arguments.”

The old mage sighed.

“Fine.”

The five adventurers began making their way towards the eastern gate of Atrium City.

None of them realized that they had been observed from the moment they arrived.

High above them, on one of the balconies of the Dark Arts Tower, Lisa stood silently behind the railing. Her crimson eyes watched the five figures retreat into the distance.

She had noticed them almost immediately.

The moment they began examining the tower, several Shadow Sentinels had detected their presence. Lisa wasn’t particularly concerned. In fact, she found their cautious approach rather amusing.

“They’re quite careful.”

She could sense their strength even from this distance.

Platinum-ranked adventurers were already powerful enough to become useful Vampires. However, Lisa had no intention of interfering with them yet.

They had come to investigate, and she was perfectly willing to let them leave.

There was no reason to reveal everything about the Dark Arts Tower on its first day.

Lisa watched the five adventurers disappear beyond the hills before turning away from the balcony.

“Go ahead and spread the rumors.”

A faint smile appeared on her face.

“The more people who hear about this tower, the better.”

With that, Lisa returned to the depths of the Dark Arts Tower, leaving the five adventurers to carry their questions back into other places…

The tower had only appeared a few hours ago, yet people were already beginning to investigate it.

Soon, however, they would do more than investigate.

They would begin talking about it.

And once the rumors spread far enough, the entire continent would know that something new had arrived.

Meanwhile, the reaction throughout Atrium City continued to grow.

More adventurers gathered on rooftops and balconies, trying to get a better view of the enormous black structure.

Merchants abandoned their stalls for several minutes just to stare at the tower.

Guards stationed along the city walls were receiving reports from every district.

Several nobles who happened to be visiting Atrium City had already sent messengers toward their respective territories.

Nobody knew what the tower was… And that uncertainty quickly gave birth to rumors.

Some claimed that an ancient civilization had awakened beneath the city.

Others insisted that the structure was a demonic fortress.

A few religious groups believed it was an artifact left behind by the gods.

There were even rumors that an Immortal Being had descended into their world…

Within only a few hours, the story had spread throughout Atrium City.

Yet only a few people knew the truth…

High above the city, Lisa stood on one of the Dark Arts Tower’s balconies.

She calmly watched the streets below.

The reaction was exactly what she had expected.

People were afraid and, of course, curious.

Several Shadow Sentinels stood silently behind her, their dark armor reflecting the faint light from the tower’s runes.

Lisa glanced over her shoulder at them before looking back toward the city.

“Mhmm… This should attract those problematic people. It’s a good start.”

There was no concern in her voice.

If anything, she sounded amused.

The Dark Arts Tower had never been meant to remain hidden.

She had erected it precisely because she wanted people to notice.

For years, the Dawnblades had operated quietly.

They had gathered strength and established their influence.

They had explored the Valor Realm and prepared for what was coming.

But that period was coming to an end.

Lisa’s crimson eyes slowly swept across the city.

She wanted people to wonder what the tower was.

She wanted kingdoms to send their scouts and adventurers to investigate.

Because every rumor would spread the Dawnblades’ name farther.

Eventually, the entire Valor Realm would learn that something had changed.

That would be their second step to conquer this continent…

Lisa smiled.

“The first batch of enemies should be coming soon… I hope they become great servants.”

Meanwhile, the news of the Dark Arts Tower eventually reached the Order of the Sky Sword.

By the time Arthur and the others returned to the capital, rumors about the enormous black structure had already begun spreading throughout Davai Kingdom.

Arthur was in the middle of inspecting the new anti-Vampire weapons when a messenger hurried into the training grounds.

“Commander.”

Arthur looked up.

The messenger immediately bowed.

“We have received an urgent report from Atrium City.”

Mordred, who was standing nearby, turned toward him.

“What happened?”

The messenger hesitated for a moment before answering.

“A massive black tower appeared outside Atrium City yesterday. According to the reports, it appeared almost instantly. Nobody witnessed its construction, and the area where it now stands was supposedly empty before it appeared.”

Mordred frowned.

“How large?”

The messenger handed Arthur a report.

“Large enough to be seen from almost anywhere in the city.”

Arthur opened the document and quickly read through it.

The report contained descriptions from merchants, guards, Adventurers, and several religious organizations that had witnessed the tower.

Ancient runes.

Dark mist.

An enormous amount of Dark Energy.

And most importantly, strange black-armored figures had been spotted inside.

Arthur’s expression gradually became more serious…

‘Is this a Vampire… or a new entity?’
