Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1325: Predicted

Chapter 1325: Predicted

Soon, the figure’s gaze shifted toward the distant mountains.

Several powerful auras were approaching.

The Chaos Sovereign could sense them long before they arrived.

It was probably a coincidence, or perhaps they noticed the disturbance… Unfortunately, they were already too late to save anyone.

Several kilometers away, a group of Arcanists rushed toward Blackthorn.

They belonged to three different factions, brought together by a common objective… The elimination of a dangerous Void Arts Practitioner who had reportedly been hiding in the area.

Indeed, they had no idea about the presence of the Chaos Sovereign…

The Elemental Arts Faction’s Order of the Lore Hunters had sent a team of First-Class Arcanists, while the Mystic Arts Faction’s Order of Illustrious Liquidators had dispatched dozens of Third-Class Arcanists to assist with the investigation and containment.

Their strongest member was a Grand Arcanist from the Beast Arts Faction’s Order of the Valiant Scourge.

None of them had expected to encounter a threat unrelated to their original mission.

“What happened here?” one of the Lord Hunters muttered as they reached the outskirts of Blackthorn.

The sight before them silenced the entire group.

The town had been reduced to ruins. There were no survivors, no fleeing citizens, and no signs of an ordinary battle. The only thing remaining was a dense, oppressive aura that made their instincts scream at them to retreat.

The Grand Arcanist immediately raised his hand.

“Everyone, stop! Don’t enter the town!”

His expression had become grim.

He had encountered powerful supernatural creatures before, but the presence lingering over Blackthorn was unlike anything he had ever felt.

Before he could issue another order, a figure emerged from the ruins.

The Chaos Sovereign looked at the approaching Arcanists with mild curiosity.

“So, this world still has a few interesting creatures.”

The Grand Arcanist’s pupils contracted.

“Identify yourself!”

The Chaos Sovereign did not answer.

Instead, it lifted one hand.

The space between them collapsed.

A wave of Chaos Energy swept across the road, swallowing the front ranks before the Arcanists could even react. Several First-Class Arcanists from the Order of the Lord Hunters vanished in an instant, their defensive spells and elemental barriers disintegrating as though they had never existed.

The surviving Arcanists immediately launched their attacks.

Flames, lightning, torrents of water, and countless Mystic Arts formations erupted toward the creature. The Beast Arts Grand Arcanist summoned a massive spirit beast, commanding it to charge through the chaos and tear apart their enemy.

For a brief moment, the entire area was illuminated by the combined power of the Arcanists.

Then the Chaos Sovereign moved.

Its figure blurred, and the incoming spells began to disappear. Some were swallowed by distorted space, while others were twisted back toward their casters. The summoned spirit beast barely managed a single roar before its body was consumed by a spreading mass of darkness.

The Grand Arcanist’s expression changed drastically.

“Retreat! Everyone, retreat now!”

But the Chaos Sovereign had already reached them.`

Chaos Energy erupted across the battlefield, swallowing the remaining First-Class Arcanists and cutting through the Mystic Arts formations. Dozens of Third-Class Arcanists from the Order of Illustrious Liquidators were consumed before they could escape, their protective techniques offering little more than a momentary delay.

The Grand Arcanist unleashed every technique at his disposal, desperately attempting to open a path for the survivors.

It made no difference.

The Chaos Sovereign casually extended its hand, and an invisible force seized him in midair.

For the first time in his life, the Grand Arcanist understood what it meant to face an existence whose power stood beyond anything he could comprehend.

His strongest techniques failed to even scratch his opponent.

His spirit beast was gone.

His subordinates were dying around him.

And the creature before him had yet to reveal the full extent of its power.

“Wait…” he gasped. “What… are you?”

The Chaos Sovereign regarded him with indifference.

“I am the end of everything you know.”

The darkness closed around the Grand Arcanist.

His final scream never reached the distant mountains.

By the time the sun disappeared behind the horizon, the three Orders had suffered a devastating defeat. Only a handful of Arcanists who had fled at the beginning of the battle remained alive, and even they had no idea what they had witnessed.

The Chaos Sovereign stood alone among the ruins.

It looked toward the distant horizon, where countless other settlements lay scattered across the continent.

Its return had only just begun.

And this time, the world would have to learn what it meant to live beneath the shadow of Chaos.

In the meantime, several kilometers away from the ruins of Blackthorn, three figures stood atop a rocky ridge overlooking the surrounding forest.

They had witnessed the entire battle.

From the moment the Chaos Sovereign emerged from the ruins to the massacre of the members of the three Orders, not a single detail had escaped their attention. Even when the terrifying creature unleashed its Chaos Energy, the three observers had remained hidden, watching from a distance without making the slightest movement.

One of them wore a dark cloak and a featureless mask that concealed his entire face. He was an operative of the Masked Archons, an organization serving the Church of the Lord of the Secrets, the Goddess of Concealment.

The two individuals standing beside him wore white and gold armor bearing the sacred insignia of the Church of the Fortune Goddess. Both were Holy Knights, experienced warriors entrusted with carrying out missions that required more than ordinary combat prowess.

At the moment, however, neither knight showed any intention of drawing their weapons.

They had just witnessed a massacre that had left even a Grand Arcanist powerless.

“It seems that Lady Maya was correct,” the Masked Archon operative remarked, his voice low.

One of the Holy Knights glanced toward him.

“She really anticipated that something like this would happen?”

“She warned us that a dangerous existence connected to Chaos might appear in this region. At the time, we couldn’t confirm whether her information was accurate, but after witnessing what happened in Blackthorn, I doubt there is any room for further speculation.”

The operative turned his attention toward the distant town.

A thick layer of darkness still covered the ruins, and the oppressive aura radiating from the Chaos Sovereign had yet to dissipate. Even from several kilometers away, he could feel the pressure bearing down on his senses.

He had investigated numerous supernatural incidents throughout his career, encountering forbidden rituals, corrupted creatures, and individuals who had delved too deeply into dangerous knowledge.

Yet none of those experiences had prepared him for what he had just witnessed!
