Chapter 1993: Expected and Unexpected Guests (2)
Tang Shaoyang was not surprised that these people knew about the codex. The codex recorded all techniques that the Thousand Vows Pavilion had created. The other factions would want all those techniques, especially for the Earth Grade, Heaven Grade, and Divine Grade techniques.
These people might be the newer factions or maybe the rival of the Thousand Vows Pavilion. Everything about them screamed that they were here for the inheritance.
"We don’t have what you are looking for," Tang Shaoyang answered confidently without missing a beat.
"Lie! Hand over the codex if you don’t want to die!" Yuhan raised his voice. His voice applied some pressure, and it seemed like it was affecting the people who heard the voice. There was an authority that tried to compel him to listen to the voice.
Tang Shaoyang met with Yuhan’s eyes, shaking his head, "Why do you ask if you don’t believe me? And don’t bother to use your disgusting skill if you don’t want to die!"
He released his suppressed aura, and Yuhan’s eyes widened in shock as the man subconsciously flew a meter backward, not expecting to meet someone with such strong killing intent.
Yuhan glanced back, clearly asking for instruction on what he should do next. His technique did not work and showed that the monsters in front of them were not ordinary monsters. If it were up to him, he would not keep this monster alive after such a show of humiliation. However, the Elders held the authority for this operation to retrieve the legendary codex.
"Kill them and we will find out if that monster is telling the truth!"
A manic grin formed on Yuhan’s lips as he took out his sword along with his six flying swords. He raised the sword in his hand, and the six flying swords flew upward in order. The sword was coated with green-colored energy, dancing in the sky before Yuhan pointed at Tang Shaoyang with the sword in his hand.
The six swords took a sudden dive and swept toward Tang Shaoyang. They moved in a line and spread out in the last ten meters, aiming with six different swords. An arrogant smile crept onto Yuhan’s lips, thinking his flying sword was too fast for the monster.
It wasn’t until a thin ice wall suddenly formed in front of Tang Shaoyang. The ice wall spanned over one hundred meters and was around seven centimeters thick. The six flying swords hit the ice wall and bounced back, making a series of clanking noises.
Yuhan thought his flying swords would easily break the ice wall. It was just a seven-centimeter-thick ice wall, yet his flying swords did not even leave a scratch on the ice wall. He controlled the six flying swords and wanted to try his second attempt until he heard one of the Elder’s voices.
"Behind you, Yuhan!"
He realized the winged woman was not behind the transparent ice wall. The moment he turned around, a black sword pierced his back and went through to his abdomen. His eyes went wide because he could not sense this winged woman’s presence. It was then followed by a punch on his face, sending him down to the ground with a boom, destroying the paved road.
Yuhan’s instinct screams at him, telling him to immediately get up and get away. However, it was too late as five more swords came down and pierced his thighs, shoulders, and also his belly, pinning him to the ground.
Then a black flying sword stopped one centimeter away from the space between his eyes. If the sword did not stop, it would kill him. A strong gush swept the dust and revealed that the winged woman was standing next to him, but she did not look at him. She was looking at the Elders and their fellow core disciples.
"If any part of your body moves, you will die!"
The winged woman sent a chilling reminder, and Yuhan did not doubt that. A single movement of the sword would create a hole in his head.
His heart was beating so hard that he could not believe he was defeated so easily by these monsters from outside. He heard tales of the creatures outside the realm, and most of the tales told him that the creatures outside the realm were not as strong as they thought. However, he was defeated in his first encounter.
’I, Lin Yuhan, a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, a core disciple of Black Lotus Sect, defeated by an outside realm monster?’
Black Lotus Sect was one of the top sects in the Murim Alliance of the Sacred Realm. Losing to a monster from outside was a humiliation, not just for him but also for the sect.
"Release my disciple at once, and maybe I will spare your life!" One of the Elders stepped out and let out a booming voice. His voice filled with authority that just became an annoyance for Tang Shaoyang.
The spirits were not affected by the voice because they were spirits. A mental attack didn’t work on them, which made them look indifferent, except for one skeleton, who was laughing so hard.
"Buahahahahaha..." Vandir responded with his villain’s laughter, which was followed by a clanking noise. The black flame in his eyes flickered as he laughed.
"Isn’t this funny, boss?" The skeleton’s body was still trembling from laughing as he turned toward Tang Shaoyang.
"Release my disciple, and maybe I will spare your life!" Vandir tried to mimic the Elder’s voice, but he said it in a mocking tone.
"I found these cultivators are all brawn, but empty in their heads. They are not that smart. You should stop as well before it’s too late, boss," Vandir was shaking his head, "We have his disciple, and he has the nerve to threaten us."
Vandir’s figure blurred as he moved toward the pinning down disciple. He stood above Yuhan’s head, looking down at the shocked disciple. The Death King looked up toward the Elder, "I will teach you how the world works!"
Vandir’s hand reached the sword and pushed Zara’s sword, piercing Yuhan’s head. The Death King had no hesitation as he kept pushing until all the blade parts disappeared from the naked eye, leaving only the hilt on top of Yuhan’s face.
He then stood up and looked up at the same Elder, "Your stupid empty threat and arrogance just killed one of your disciples. How does that feel?"
