Chapter 2086: Decision
Chapter 2086: Decision
Khaya closed her eyes for a moment as everything slowly sank into her. She survived the ordeal, but she lost two people.
Chief Avourel planned ahead that he sent people to ambush the others before coming for her. Nandra and Salia, along with the other two, managed to escape with heavy injuries. However, she lost Neyra and Roldan.
She still remembered how happy they were when she promoted them to Junior Administrator. Their smiles and joy when four of them were promoted to Junior Administrator were etched in her memories. The thought of how they died because of a stupid pride angered her, awakening her hate toward Chief Avourel and the people behind him.
"Neyra and Roldan were killed by them. Chief Avourel knew very well that they would side with me, so he targeted them before coming after me..."
Khaya looked up at Tang Shaoyang, "Now that I think about it, you should let me kill him, Sir."
Tang Shaoyang didn’t really know the two names that Khaya mentioned. He knew that Khaya used her quota, as well as the reward from guarding the Void Gate, to promote all four Admin Helpers. That was the time he also got promoted to Executive Administrator, when he was no longer directly leading the team.
He honestly didn’t know which Neyra and Roldan were. The news of their death annoyed him because he lost two team members, but that was it. He didn’t regret doing what he did right now. This was a must, or else similar people with the same thoughts as Avourel would come for him just to curry favor with his enemy.
"Too late, and his life is mine only. I am not going to give him to you even if you ask before I kill him."
Khaya closed her eyes again, thinking about what she could do better to avoid this disaster. She quickly realized that the disaster was inevitable unless she killed Avourel before all of this happened. But that was not going to happen because she didn’t think Avourel was this kind of person.
"What about the remaining people in the Daenelis Clan? If we leave them after this. They would be killed or enslaved by the other clans. Unless you can accept—"
Tang Shaoyang raised his hand, stopping her from continuing, "No. I can’t accept them. I have killed their fathers and husbands. Do you think they would want to live under my rule? If not for you and your friends, I might have to kill all of them just to get rid of the seed of vengeance."
He was being honest with Khaya. He was being considerate to her and her friends because he regarded them as his own people. Out of that consideration, he planned to leave those people who didn’t fight and leave after killing Avourel and the Elders.
With Avyn’s assurance, he was convinced of his decision to leave them be for Khaya and her friends. Now the decision was in Khaya’s hands whether she wanted to join him or not.
Khaya was clearly troubled. She hated Chief Avourel, but his family and the others in the town were innocent. It was hard for her to leave them in this place when the other clans would swarm the moment they found out what had happened here. They were her clansmen.
However, she didn’t have a solution either. If she stayed with her clan, her family would also stay with her. With their current force, she would not be able to protect them all and would put her family in danger.
Tang Shaoyang knew Khaya’s dilemma, but he also didn’t have a solution. He could not accept those people and put his people in danger because of their grudges against him. The fact that Khaya didn’t refute his claim meant his guess was most likely true that they would bear a grudge against him.
"Can you just tell them to move out and live in the Starter City?" Avyn offered her idea.
"Your clan will lose your territory and home, but at least they are not in danger in the Starter City. Give them time and let them decide what they want to do with their future."
That was a great idea, but the problem was the money. Living in the Starter City was expensive, but she quickly found the solution. She could give all her money and use all the treasury to help them move out.
"It seems that’s the best solution right now. Again, I am not going to offer a hand to my potential enemy."
He paused for a moment before pressuring Khaya for an answer, "So what’s your decision, Khaya?" Tang Shaoyang truly didn’t want to stay any longer.
He wanted to go home to check on his daughters. It had been confirmed that the baby was fine, and her daughters were also fine. However, the attack might inflict trauma on his daughters, and he wanted to be with them after finishing his business with the Shadow Star and the Daenelis Clan.
"Do I have to make the decision now?" Khaya was truly troubled. That was indeed the best solution for her clansmen right now, but she had more problems on hand.
First, she was still hesitating to leave her clansmen behind, but she was well aware that the Daenelis Clan’s future was bleak after losing their main force. She didn’t know how long it would take for them to recover, to regain their force to the level of Chief Avourel’s leadership. She doubted that she could see that in her lifetime.
Second, it would take time to convince her clansmen to move out. The reason they stayed instead of moving was that the majority of people refused to leave the home they had built a long time ago. Even with the current situation, more than half might decide to stay. She needed more time to convince those kinds of people.
"Yes. I need your and your friend’s answer before I go home. The moment you decide to stay with your clansmen, that’s the moment you and your friends will be kicked out of Team Reds," Tang Shaoyang didn’t hesitate to give her the real reason.
He indirectly told her that he didn’t want to give more information to his potential enemy. It meant he regarded her as a potential enemy the moment she decided to stay with her clansmen. He was not going to take a risk that Khaya might be persuaded by her clansmen to betray him. That was why he wanted her to make the decision right now.
It was cruel for Khaya, but Tang Shaoyang must show a strong stance. She should understand why he pressed her to make the decision right now. Especially after the incident. Of course, he was not going to ask for her understanding, whether she realized it or not.
