Tang Shaoyang was in a pinch, yet he remained calm. In fact, he felt more disgusted with his situation. The disgust directed toward the invisible force that stopped him from moving. It felt like his body was being grasped, holding him down inside the sea of magma.

He could not use his skill, but his passive skill, such as Chaos Shroud, was still active. The passive barrier made of Chaos Energy kept the magma from touching his scale.

However, as he had guessed before, the magma was getting stronger as Alderman’s attributes kept increasing as well. This was indeed an amazing skill, and he was tempted to find out where Alderman got the skill as he wanted one for himself.

Tang Shaoyang shook his head, realizing that he had been distracted again. This was maybe the reason why Alderman could catch him off guard. He started to think of an alternative way to get out of this place.

He could try to escape to his World of Beast Spirit and return later, or he could switch places with his spirit. There was a concern for the latter solution. He didn’t know what kind of magma was this. Could this magma kill his spirit permanently?

The Nirvana Alliance could make equipment to kill a spirit since they had a purpose to kill people with the Spirit Contractor. If they could create something like that, there was a possibility that there was a skill that could kill a spirit permanently.

’Or maybe I can freeze the magma with Ethereal Frost?’

Avyn’s ice should work, considering Alderman could not win against Avyn, but then Alderman didn’t use that strange eye against Avyn.

Tang Shaoyang was calm despite being surrounded by the magma and not being able to use skill. He surely took his time considering his options until he noticed cracks on Chaos Shroud.

The magma was getting stronger and starting to overpower Chaos Shroud. The crack was subtle, but it kept spreading and getting bigger. It took less than fifteen seconds before the magma leaked through the cracks and filled the inner part of the barrier.

Getting pressured from outside and inside, the Chaos Shroud broke apart. There was no longer a barrier between the magma and the scale.

The magma was warm and didn’t hurt him at first, but the magma kept getting stronger and stronger, as if there was no ceiling for how strong it could be. His defense was holding on as it started to get hotter.

Once more, his curiosity got the better of him as he wanted to find out whether the magma could hurt him or not. The answer to that was yes. The magma was getting hotter and hotter. The scale was holding on, but his skin beneath the scale started to blister as the scale’s temperature increased.

His expression remained calm even though his skin was burning. It was like a little bit of sting, nothing much. His regeneration was fighting off, healing the blister caused by the magma.

"The magma is quite strong, but that is it... Does Alderman truly think his magma can kill me?"

Tang Shaoyang closed his eyes as his body started to release the cold air, cooling down the temperature around him. Once the blister had healed, the heat was also cooled down.

He thought his Ethereal Frost would be enough to counter the magma, but he was wrong about it. It managed to cool him down and froze the surrounding area around him only. His Ethereal Frost was not as strong as Avyn’s to fully counter the magma.

He thought that should be enough for him to get out of the sea of magma, but he still could not use his skill. He attempted for Spirit Switch, but then it was still considered a skill as well. A skill was disabled, so it was not possible for him to switch his position.

"Hmm... The magma is getting stronger by absorbing the energy..."

He noticed how the sea of magma converted the natural energy to get stronger. When it came to energy, he remembered his domain’s specialty, or to be more exact, it was the white tree.

The white tree disperses the energy that is pierced by it. It worked against a living being, but he wondered if it could work against the sea of magma.

He immediately took action as the white tree without leaves sprang all over the sea of magma. As he thought, it worked. The white tree absorbed the energy and created more white trees all over the sea of magma. It looked like a thorn that grew from the magma. It started with less than a hundred, and it kept multiplying to several hundreds and quickly broke over a thousand.

It didn’t stop there, from thousands to tens of thousands then broke into hundreds of thousands. It was spreading like wildfire and filled the sea of magma, which increased the speed of absorption.

Tang Shaoyang was surprised that the white tree was absorbing the energy from the sea of magma. That was right, it was absorbing, not dispersing the energy.

He thought the white tree was dispersing the energy so the target would not be able to use it. The better part was that the absorbed energy went to him, empowering him, increasing his Magical Power as well as Chaos Energy.

The white tree worked similarly to Alderman’s skill, which he didn’t expect at all. The sea of magma was weakened by his domain, and he was getting empowered as well on top. That made his Ethereal Frost stronger and started to freeze a larger area.

The restriction on his body weakened as he started to move up. The magma around him was completely frozen, and it was different from Avyn. The magma turned into ice in his face, and Avyn was more like sealing the magma with her ice. Avyn was certainly cooler than his way, not that he knew how to do it.

That was when he realized that he had been slacking in training his Elemental Power. He stopped after having a decent mastery over the Elemental Power. Another similar case was with his Shadow and Space as well. He stopped after learning how to move within the shadow, or for Space Power, he stopped after having decent control to create space cracks, which could be fatal attacks.

This fight with Alderman brought a realization to him. He had a superior element in his hand that could overpower Alderman’s magma, yet he failed to bring his own power to the potential. He had to combine two of them to counter the magma, his domain and Ethereal Frost.

"It seems my way of thinking is wrong in the first place..."

Tang Shaoyang muttered. His thinking was to gather all powerful skills and classes, but in fact, he had them, but he was still not able to utilize them fully.

He was aware of the root of the problem. It was because he could use Spirit Integration, which was the reason why he didn’t train his Elemental Power. If he wanted to fully utilize the Ethereal Frost, he could use Spirit Integration with Avyn. If he wanted to utilize his Shadow and Space, he would do Spirit Integration with Zara. That might be the reason why his spirits didn’t push him to master those elements.
