Chapter 2190: Final Nail In The Coffin

Zhong Tian Yun initially thought everything would be simpler once he pitted the Heaven Founder against the Thousand Vows Pavilion. He even prepared Heaven-Grade barrier formation so none of them could escape and fight to their death. Then he just needed to get rid of whoever won that fight.

It started with a concern when he saw that Tang Shaoyang had been caught by the Demonic Cultivator using their soul techniques. He thought Tang Shaoyang was done for until the follower stepped up. That was when he found out that The Thousand Vows Pavilion’s followers were absurdly strong.

Less than ten people were holding on against hundreds, if not thousands, of Demonic Cultivators and Heaven Founder’s people. Not just were they holding on, they were slaughtering the cultivators. They were not on the same level at all.

At this time, Tang Shaoyang was still caught in the Soul Technique and trapped inside the ice. The Heaven Founder tried to break the ice that acted as a barrier, but it was futile.

Zhong Tian Yun hoped that the Demonic Cultivators would kill Tang Shaoyang now because of how troublesome the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s subordinates were. Even the Outsider who killed his friend, the Spear God, was going toe-to-toe with the blue-ash-haired woman. Everything spiraled out of control.

The thought of joining hands with the Heaven Founder and the Demonic Cultivator crossed his mind. But he quickly realized that he would lose the Murim Alliance’s trust if he worked together. Even the cooperation with the Heaven Founder would put his position in jeopardy. He could not cross the line further than he already was. Even if he somehow got rid of these two factions, the Great Sects would not overlook his dealings with the Demonic Faction.

He didn’t have a choice but to watch until the battle concluded, which was simply a mistake. He watched the battle unfold from the sky while monitoring the formation. Then he spotted that Tang Shaoyang broke free from the Soul Entrapment.

That was the start of the disaster as he found out Tang Shaoyang’s other identity. He was not only the head of the Thousand Vows Pavilion, but he also wielded the same power as an outsider. Zhong Tian Yun finally was confident to destroy the Heaven Founder. He finally understood why Tang Shaoyang didn’t look at the Murim Alliance as a threat. He was unsure whether they could win against Tang Shaoyang even if he joined hands with the Heaven Founder and the Demonic Factions. Especially when he didn’t have the actual Murim Alliance’s cultivators under his command.

He was about to join hands with the Heaven Founder, but then the outsider called Alderman met with Tang Shaoyang. The two sides quickly clashed, which led to a disaster. The whole city turned into a sea of magma.

The worst part was that he lost half of his people to that sea of magma. The Sky Hall and the Heavenly Fortress were swept by the magma.

The three powerhouses of Xiyun suffered a worse fate than him. The Sikong Family, the Bai Family, and the Duanmu Family suffered a massive loss to the magma as well. With their hall, it diminished his power over this battle.

This was no longer under his control. The impact battle between two Outsiders killed his people. That was just an impact, not getting attacked.

Despite the massive loss, he stayed behind and watched the battle. He was still holding onto a hope, a chance to kill the two outsiders.

The battle between the outsiders was a battle of force. Each of their clashes carried destruction, though everything around them was already destroyed by the magma.

Tang Shaoyang seemed to have the upper hand, but Alderman could not be killed. What made it worse was that the battle was hard to comprehend even for someone like him. He had experienced the fight against the Outsider, and he had experienced countless battles. What he was watching right now was totally different from his experience.

He saw Tang Shaoyang suddenly fall from the air without the Alderman making a move. Then the fight devolved into a close combat. Alderman had an upper hand in terms of technicality, but Tang Shaoyang overpowered Alderman with his own power.

It was a sight to behold as he hardly followed their movement. The fight then turned into a strange turn as Tang Shaoyang found Alderman’s weakness. The floating eye in the air was Alderman’s weakness.

He thought Tang Shaoyang would win the fight, given how things transpired. Alderman’s body was faltering with no sign of recovery. It looked like Alderman could no longer continue the fight. However, once more, the fight took a strange turn as he saw that Tang Shaoyang was caught by Alderman.

Zhong Tian Yun thought it would not be hard for Tang Shaoyang to break free from the bind. But then there was something stopping Tang Shaoyang from breaking free from the magma tendril.

That was when he realized that the temperature around him was rising. It was so hot right, but he was able to endure. However, the temperature kept rising, and the heat wave hit.

The magma balls that bound Tang Shaoyang were lighting up, getting brighter and brighter. He could sense the enormous energy in that magma ball and realized what had happened.

Then the heat wave started to burn his skin, forcing him to put a barrier around himself to protect himself from getting burned. At the same time, he started to make even more distance from the battlefield. He had a bad feeling about that magma ball.

He didn’t go too far, as he still wanted to see who would win the fight. That was when the magma ball exploded and swallowed everything around it. The explosion covered the whole city if the city was still there, and went further.

He thought he was out of range, but the explosion reached him. The barrier he created to protect himself from the heatwave melted under the explosion. He drew his sword and cut through the explosion. At this point, he had lost sight of Tang Shaoyang and Alderman.

Zhong Tian Yun was forced to retreat to avoid the explosion, and after the explosion, a rain of magma followed. He was busy keeping himself safe from the magma until the situation was under control.

A massive formation formed after the explosion, a massive yet deep formation. Half of the pit was already filled by the bubbling magma. His heart jumped and beat so loudly that he could hear it directly. He was shocked by the outsider Alderman’s destructive power.

The eerie eye was no longer in the sky after the explosion, and the once bustling city was now a pit filled with magma. His eyes snapped at the realization. Tang Shaoyang and Alderman, where were they?

He wanted to believe that Alderman was going for a suicidal attack, killing himself and Tang Shaoyang at the same time. That was what he hoped for, but then he spotted a figure at the center of the explosion.

It was the faltering figure, Alderman. The magma form started to crumble as Alderman’s true body showed up. Meanwhile, Tang Shaoyang was nowhere to be seen.

’Tang Shaoyang is dead!’

It made sense, as there was no way Tang Shaoyang would survive when he was the closest to the magma ball or whatever it was.

’This is my chance!’

A realization struck Zhong Tian Yun when he saw a weakened figure in the air. From Alderman’s body language, the outside was utterly exhausted.

Mo Tianshen of the Heaven Founder and the Demonic Factions were nowhere to be seen. He wished for them to die in that explosion, a good riddance. This was his chance to strike Alderman down.

Even though his enemy looked worn out, Zhong Tian Yun remained cautious. This outsider might have some secret in case of an emergency. He approached Alderman cautiously, keeping an eye on the surroundings.

As he got closer, he discovered something in front of Alderman. It looked like a black dot, but he was too far to determine what it was. He picked up his pace, but remained cautious until he got close enough to find out what that black dot was.

It was a heart, a beating heart. The heart was still beating, and five-colored circles were rotating around the beating heart. The dark circle, golden circle, ash-blue circle, dark-blue circle, and crimson circle revolved around the beating heart, which looked fascinating.

Zhong Tian Yun was stunned by the sight of the heart. When he fully focused on the heart, he started to hear the beating sound.

’Treasure!’

That was the first thing that came to his mind at the sight of the heart. It was a weird treasure, but it was an outsider’s treasure. It made sense for the treasure to look weird.
