Chapter 2225: Hidden Family (2)
Chapter 2225: Hidden Family (2)
Bai Jinwei, Duanmu Liang Yi, and Sikong Tian Kai, along with Tian Zhong from the True Sword Pavilion, followed Tang Shaoyang.
Tian Zhong was familiar with the hidden family. There were a bunch of them, and they were excluding themselves from worldly affairs. They were similar to the Sword Manor, but he believed the Sword Manor carried a noble goal: to protect the Sacred Realm.
Even if they joined the Thousand Vows Pavilion, the True Sword Pavilion still had the same goal. In fact, joining the Thousand Vows Pavilion was a way to protect the Sacred Realm. Since he lost in a direct fight, he decided to protect the Sacred Realm from the inside.
With their joining, they had an influence over the Thousand Vows Pavilion. He just needed to plan it better so the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s revival didn’t affect the Sacred Realm negatively.
The hidden family was completely different in that regard from the Sword Manor. They didn’t care about the Sacred Realm’s situation. They were a bunch of arrogant, selfish people who only thought about themselves.
The Sword Manor had a few conflicts against the hidden family in the past, and he knew a few of them. However, Overseer Tang Shaoyang didn’t mention the name. But this was a good opportunity to test his new technique, so he didn’t miss it.
Bai Jinwei and the others had heard about the hidden family, but they had never met one. They knew about the hidden through other people’s mouths. Their curiosity made them agree to join.
Now they have finally arrived, on the peak of an unknown mountain, in the middle of nowhere. It took them four hours to get here. If not for Tang Shaoyang, they didn’t know this place existed.
‘Where’s the hidden family?’
That was what was in everyone’s mind when they landed, but it was answered when they entered a cave. The cave was covered by creeping vines and plants, and the location was covered by trees. It would be hard to find the cave unless they truly looked for it.
From outside, the cave was dark, but it was illuminated by glowing stone inside. There was something that obstructed their vision, maybe formation.
While the outside looked like an unattended area, the inside was clearly well-maintained. It was an obvious sign this was not a random cave, but a passage.
Sure enough, it didn’t take long for them to find people, or maybe guards. There were four of them, two of them standing next to a portal, and the other two were sitting on chairs.
As they sensed the guards, the guards also sensed them. Yet they still looked relaxed, not worried in the slightest. The nonchalance was enough to tell how arrogant these people were.
They wore black robes with a crimson phoenix engraved on their back and also their chest. Each of them had a sword on their waist, and they emitted the aura of a late-stage True God Realm. A late-stage True God Realm as a guard, befitting of the hidden family.
“It’s been a while since we’ve had visitors! Should we have fun…” The man in the chair let out a low cackle.
However, the guard near the portal had a different opinion: “You can have fun if you don’t want to keep your head attached to your body.”
Then the guard looked toward Tang Shaoyang, “We will overlook your transgression for trespassing into the Feng Family’s domain. Now scram! Or else there will be no mercy!”
The guard released his aura, trying to intimidate the visitors, but only to find the visitors were fine, even smiling at him.
The guards were of similar rank to Bai Jinwei, Sikong Tan Kai, and Duanmu Liang Yi. They were at the 8th-Stage True God Realm.
“You need to be strong to show mercy…” Tang Shaoyang shook his head and let out a chuckle. At the same time, he also took out the Azure Dragon Blade.
It happened too fast as the moment the sword appeared in his hand, a roar echoed inside the cave, causing vibration. At the same time, Tang Shaoyang’s figure blurred as glint light slashed through the cave.
The two guards near the portal had their heads flying and hit the ceiling as blood spurted out from their bodies. The two guards barely avoided the strike because they sat low enough to avoid the slash.
Before they could react, Zara appeared behind them with a sword made of darkness. The sword pierced their hearts before they could move. Their bodies flopped to the ground, but quickly disappeared before the blood could stain the ground as Tang Shaoyang put them into his inventory.
The two remaining guards quickly stood up from the chair, but then an earth spike burst out from the ground, piercing their chests. The two were still alive even with their chest pierced. One of them took out a talisman, but before he could use it, Tian Zhong appeared next to the guard. He cut the hand first before the head and killed the last one.
Tian Zhong had experience with the people from the God Realm. He was surprised by the spike that came out of the ground, but quickly accepted it. It was different from the other trees, which looked baffled.
They had a little bit of knowledge about the God Realm, but it was never detailed. Bai Jinwei, Sikong Tan Kai, and Duanmu Liang Yi looked at the two impaled corpses. Before they could proceed with what they witnessed, the corpse disappeared.
They started to imagine themselves in the guard’s position. They were confident that they would be able to destroy the spike. The problem was that they didn’t know when that spike would come for them. It was impossible to react, especially if they didn’t know such an ability existed.
As of now, they might have a chance to avoid the spike since they knew it. But before this, they might die the same way as these guards. That was when a realization dawned upon me. This was what would have happened to them if they had listened to the Murim Alliance Leader back then.
“Is this your first time seeing magic?” Tian Zhong let out a chuckle as he saw the three Grandmasters’ expressions.
He found it funny because he also made the same expression that magic was capable of.
“Even if you don’t want to follow the God Realm’s path, you should experience what they are capable of instead of shutting yourself in the Sacred Realm,” Tian Zhong advised.
“It’s better if you follow my instructions instead. You wasted one year just for one breakthrough. If you level up in my world, you might have reached the peak of the True God Realm by now,” Tang Shaoyang added.
“I guess I will show you the gap so you will start listening to me.”
Tang Shaoyang entered the portal after saying his piece. He appeared on a cliff and saw structures across him. It was a similar concept to his first floating island. The structures were built on top of a floating island, surrounded by a cliff, and separated by the void.
The floating island was connected to the cliff with a bridge, and the floating island was positioned lower than the cliff. A city was built on top of the floating island, and a castle stood at the end of the island with a big phoenix statue on top.
“So this is the Feng Family’s secret realm…” Tian Zhong sounded surprised, “They are much better in this regard than we are…” He was comparing the Sword Manor to this place.
The other three Grandmasters were in awe, not expecting that the people from the Sacred Realm were capable of creating something like this. They thought it was something only an outsider could do.
Tang Shaoyang summoned Xiyue, Bao Xue, and Shizi. That was another shock because they got to see two more Heavenly Beasts.
The moment he summoned the three spirits, people flocked out of the city. At least thirty people reacted to the summons and flew quickly toward them.
Xiyue didn’t waste her time as she rushed toward the city. Shizi was the first one to follow, jumping onto the bridge and rushing toward the thirty people. The three-headed lion was noisy as usual. One of the heads was telling the other two heads to be more careful, the second one was laughing excitedly at the fight, and the third head tried to control the other two. Bao Xue shook his head and followed his two friends closely.
A massive cloud of fire boomed in the sky as Xiyue was the first one to clash with the cultivators from the Feng Family. Bodies started to fall from the fire as the phoenix went straight to the castle, leaving seventeen cultivators who survived the clash.
They were about to chase, but Shizi and Bao Xue already caught up. The gap between the two sides was obvious, and the cultivators started to fall one by one.
“Who are you!? Why are you attacking the Feng Family?”
A voice that covered the whole secret realm resounded. It carried authority and pressure; even Tian Zhong flinched.
