Chapter 2294: Lingering Hatred
Chapter 2294: Lingering Hatred
Tang Shaoyang returned through the unusual route, through the world he claimed from the Second War of World, Arnain. He hadn’t really checked the world after he claimed it. His first visit to the world was the day after he moved the Demonic Calamity.
After that, he didn’t really pay attention to the world closely. This would be his second visit after that day, and the world transformed.
It was just a little over a week since the Demonic Calamity moved into this world, but it changed the world. The air was filled with the Void Energy and Demonic Energy.
The earth slowly turned darker, much darker, along with the trees. That was the influence of the Demonic Calamity. Through the Chaos Eyes, he saw that some part of the territory was covered in snow. It was not just normal snow, but black snow.
Even without his connection with the Demonic Calamity, he could immediately tell who occupied that territory. It was the Sox and Somi’s territory where Blizzard Calamity lived.
That was right; he named their species Blizzard Calamity. Since they were technically a new species, he named them Blizzard Calamity.
Sox and Somi also sensed their connection, trying to communicate through their connection. He told them not to come because he didn’t stay here for long.
As he tried to expand his sense and vision further, he realized that only a small part of the world had changed. There were not that many Demonic Calamities yet, after all.
Another thing he noticed was that the world seemed still peaceful. The abandoned city was occupied by beasts and monsters, but he didn’t see a sign of the world being overcrowded by monsters or beasts yet.
There was no Dungeon Break yet, let alone the Dimensional Tower break. The world was still fine, for now.
Then he sensed a stronger presence than Sox and Somi. He recognized the presence: Sloth. Half-dragon and half-fox Demonic Calamity. He didn’t even try to name this new species, and Sloth was not bothered by it either.
Sloth was actually his bonded companion, meaning he had a stronger connection to Sloth than Sox and Somi. When he asked Sloth whether he wanted to stay on Earth or not, Sloth answered firmly that he wanted to stay here. His reason was that he would oversee this world on his behalf.
Envy chose to stay on Earth and had been mingling with Wrath, Pride, and Greed. The last time he heard, the hyperactive bird was actually exploring the Dimensional Tower with his other Bond Companions.
The ape, bird, cat, and dragon were on an adventure on their own. Gluttony remained on Delia’s side. The white tiger had grown affectionate toward Delia. Both worked well together; the two hunters paired well together.
Tang Shaoyang thought of waiting for Sloth, checking on him. He quickly found out how slow Sloth was.
"There’s no need to come if you don’t want to come, Sloth! I am going to leave soon anyway!"
He said it aloud, annoyed with Sloth.
’Alright!’
Sloth instantly replied telepathically with his unique sleepy tone. The moment he responded, Sloth’s presence came to a stop instantly.
He named his companion bond with the Seven Deadly Sins, but none of them actually lived up to the name. Wrath was not easily angered and more mischievous than wrathful; Greed was not that greedy except when it was about food; and Pride was not that prideful. This was the first time that his bond companion actually lived up to the name.
Tang Shaoyang canceled his transformation, but Zara had left a while ago. The moment she closed the teleportation gate, she returned to the Spirit World.
She spoke telepathically in his head that she wanted to check on Avyn. They were like sisters. She was worried about how Avyn reacted in the Dragon Realm.
He was surprised as well, but then she remembered that she had her reason and was not willing to say it in front of the other Dragons. He thought it would be a while before Avyn talked about it with him. She needed space, and Tang Shaoyang was not going to force her to talk right now.
It seemed Avyn was reading what was in his mind as she started speaking in his head.
[It’s my Ancestor’s resentments, their hatred toward the Dragon Realm. It’s like they are living as spirits inside me, affecting my emotions through their memories. Their emotions awakened when you summoned me out in the Dragon Realm.]
Tang Shaoyang remembered how Avyn actually inherited her ancestors’ power as well as their memories. It included how they were killed. Their initial contract was to fight the Nirvana Alliance. She didn’t mention there would be more enemies, but it was clear now that the Dragon Realm took part in the fall of the Kankara’Xeo Clan.
"How is it? Have you calmed down now? Does their hatred still influence you?"
[I am fine for now, but their hatred still lingers, and I start hating them as well. But there’s something weird...]
"Weird? What do you mean?"
[The hatred... The hatred is strong toward Zonaras and Iandra... That’s weird. Shouldn’t my ancestors hate Orve the most? My ancestors hate Orve, but the hatred is quite overwhelming when it comes to Zonaras and Iandra. Isn’t that weird?]
That was indeed weird. Tang Shaoyang didn’t know the details of the war between Avyn’s ancestors and the Dragon Realm. However, he knew that the Dragon Monarch was actually holding absolute authority. It meant the war happened because Orve allowed it, yet they were stronger than Zonaras and Iandra.
"Shouldn’t you know why? Didn’t you inherit your ancestor’s memories?"
[I did inherit their memories, but there was nothing about them. It’s thousands or maybe millions of years of memories. It’s impossible for all of them to be inherited seamlessly. Some of my memories might be hidden.]
[Can I assume that we will go to war against the Dragon Realm in the future?] Vandir suddenly interrupted. There was a little excitement in his voice.
