Chapter 2299: Home Sweet Home
Chapter 2299: Home Sweet Home
Tang Shaoyang didn’t know why Vandir brought this up, and he was curious now. He tried to recall if he ever lacked confidence. He never lost his confidence, even in his initial clash against the Divine Church of the Nirvana Alliance.
[I don’t say you ever lose your confidence, but I feel like you have become even more confident than before. I am just wondering about it. Or are you trying to appear to be confident for your family?]
"Hmmm..."
He tried to recall his feelings when he was talking with his wives earlier. He appeared at ease about the war, showing no concern, but did he try to reassure his wives? He didn’t.
"I don’t think so... I don’t think I try to act in any way to comfort my family..."
[What do you guys think?] Vandir asked the other spirits, mostly Avyn, Zara, and Karan.
[I don’t know what you are talking about.] Avyn and Karan responded almost at the same time.
[Rather than growing more confident, it’s more like he has fewer concerns. And I think it’s because he has a clear path and goal now. Clearing the abandoned world, the monster lair project, putting more focus on Cultivation, and also developing the Beast Spirit. He has a clear path, so he doesn’t really consult us as much as before anymore. Maybe that’s why you feel that way, Vandir.]
Zara tried to explain why Vandir felt that way. [To me, he doesn’t really change. The usual reckless man who doesn’t hesitate to throw his body into danger.]
Vandir fell silent for a moment yet remained unconvinced. [Maybe...]
The Lich no longer continued the topic, and Tang Shaoyang finished his stroll. He didn’t need to find where his wives were. He headed straight to the back of the castle where the dwarves built his mansion.
It was supposed to be their permanent residence, but they treated it more like a vacation house. Most of them were still on Earth. They conducted the main operation from Earth.
Through the Chaos Eyes, he found Elin and Ava. The dwarves built an artificial lake not far from the mansion, and they built a pavilion in the middle of the lake. The stone bridge connected the pavilion, but the dwarves also prepared boats as well.
Ava and Elin, along with his son and daughters, were staying in the pavilion. Daughters, as in all his daughters, not just Tang Huan Mei. Tang Xiulan, Li Yue, and Li Jiaying were here as well.
The two mothers were having tea, and the children were having their cookies and cake. When he said daughters, it also included his stepdaughter, Alissa. The current Queen of the Elven Kingdom was having tea-time together with her mother and half-sister.
Alissa still gave Tang Shaoyang the cold treatment, but she loved her half-sister and brother. The proof was right before him. Alissa was holding Gavriel and Tang Huan Mei on her lap, playing with them while being surrounded by her other half-sisters.
Alissa was holding fruit, including a yellow fruit. She was holding the fruit for Gavriel and Huan Mei as the two babies sucked on the soft fruit. Their cheeks puffed, and they seemed to like the fruit. Alissa was looking at the two babies fondly.
Tang Shaoyang’s figure blurred and appeared in the middle of the bridge. The first one to notice his presence was Alissa, then Ava and Elin noticed a bit later.
The current Elven Queen had become stronger than her own mother based on that reaction. He could see the change in expression on Alissa the moment she noticed him. If not for the two babies on her lap, she might get up and leave.
Noticing the adults looked toward his direction, Tang Xiulan followed their gaze. The moment she spotted her father. She jumped off the stone chair and ran toward him, "Daddy!"
Li Jiaying and Li Yue jumped off the chair, tailing Tang Xiulan.
Tang Shaoyang’s conflicted feelings toward Alissa disappeared the moment he saw his daughters’ smiles. He squatted, opening his arms as his three daughters crashed into him. The moment they were in his embrace, they shot up to the sky.
The three little girls screamed at first, but it was followed by their laughter, echoing in the middle of the lake. Then they landed slowly as the three little girls looked around curiously.
"Big fish!" Tang Xiulan noticed the big fish below the lake.
When she said big, it was a giant fish that looked similar to a whale. Around forty-five meters long, and it was noticeable because its back was red.
Tang Shaoyang already sensed all creatures inside the lake, so he was not surprised. Since that giant fish was put in the lake, it meant it was tamed. There was one weird thing, though. It was the faint connection between him and all the fish inside these lakes. He had a faint connection with them, and he didn’t recall anything about them.
"Uncle Azhug brings them here so we can see them often..." Li Jiaying added.
It finally made sense after hearing what Li Jiaying said. They were the Beast Spirit belonging to the Tang Garden. They slowly descended, giving his daughters time to see the fish a bit longer.
"Do you want to see more fish?" He asked.
The three girls fervently nodded their heads, and he brought them around.
Tang Shaoyang tried to establish his connection with the Beast Spirit. That seemed to stir something inside the lake. He sent his intent, more like a command, telling all the Beast Spirits inside the lake to come up to the surface. There was no resistance, and they seemed to recognize their connection with him.
After sending the command, he brought his daughters up to the air once more. The three little girls gasped when they saw colorful fish surface. He flew around with his daughters. They were laughing, pointing at the fish they found interesting.
Their laughter was soothing and made him feel relaxed. He did three rounds, flying around the lake as the fish came to the surface. There were hundreds of them in all kinds of sizes.
He brought her daughters back to the pavilion. The moment he landed, the three girls jumped off him. They rushed toward their mothers, sharing what they saw excitedly.
Tang Shaoyang received a sharp glare from Alissa, but he shrugged it off. He had gotten used to it by now, and he was not going to force her to treat him like he was her father anyway.
To be honest, he expected her to leave when he came, but she stayed to his surprise. He walked toward Alissa, not trying to talk to her, but to his son and daughter on her lap.
The two toddlers had been focusing on sucking the fruit that looked like a mango, but it was a little bit red for a mango. They seemed to sense his presence as both pushed Alissa’s hand and turned toward him.
Tang Shaoyang extended his hands toward them. There was this fear that they might not recognize him. He had been away for a few weeks clearing the abandoned world, after all.
To his delight, Huan Mei and Gavriel tried to break free from Alissa as they also tried to reach him.
"Nope! They will stay with me!" Alissa tried to stop Tang Shaoyang from taking them from her.
Tang Shaoyang just rolled his eyes. "Unfortunately, that’s not up to you."
His figure blurred as Gavriel and Huan Mei disappeared from Alissa’s lap. Then he appeared next to Elin, sitting next to her with two toddlers on his lap.
For some reason, the two toddlers were laughing. The two toddlers turned around, trying to climb his body. He supported their buttocks with his arms. They held his hair and licked his lips.
