Chapter 2315: Direct Influence in Advancement
Chapter 2315: Direct Influence in Advancement
"Elemental Golem, huh?" Vandir muttered, "This is underwhelming, considering this was an evolution to the Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit."
"You say that and are all disappointed; then you will get excited again," Tang Shaoyang snickered at the skeleton.
Zara was so focused that she didn’t bother to respond to Vandir’s remark. Her eyes locked on that elemental cocoon. The ten-minute mark passed as the cocoon broke.
Tang Shaoyang expected a wave of tsunami, lava, and storm wind, yet nothing he worried about happened. The way the cocoon broke was gentle. It dispersed into energy instead of in the form of the elemental, slowly dispersing into the air.
Doru the Golem King stepped out, looking confused for a moment, disoriented. But then his eyes fell on Zara, and he started to walk toward her.
Vandir was right about Doru becoming an Elemental Golem, but it was different from what everyone expected. Doru’s new body was made of an elemental hexagonal block made of different elementals. His hand consisted of those five blocks, but each block was a different elemental.
His left hand was made of fire, water, wind, earth, and metal. His right hand was made of magma, ice, lightning, shadow, and wood. The same was true for his body and legs; they were made of the same things except for the head.
Doru kept his original head, but slimmer and smaller. But there were ten floating elementals above his head, rotating around his head like a crown.
Doru spotted Zara, and he walked toward him. As he was approaching, the hexagonal magma bubbled, falling to the ground. The wind sometimes shot outward by itself, the water was leaking, and the lightning struck out randomly. It was very clear that Doru was having a hard time controlling it.
He stopped in front of Zara. "Maybe not too close, Darla. Doru is afraid of hurting you."
"It’s okay, silly guy. Do you think you can hurt me?" Zara dismissed it as nothing, but Doru stepped back, shaking his head.
Zara was about to catch him, but then he turned toward Tang Shaoyang. He gave a pleading look, and he answered by recalling Doru to the Spirit World.
"Do you think you can escape from me, silly guy?" Zara laughed.
"Leave him alone. You are making him uncomfortable. It’s not like you won’t meet him later," Tang Shaoyang rescued his golem, or maybe he was no longer a golem.
"You haven’t told his new title yet!" Vandir interrupted before Zara could protest, "Is it Elemental King now? You know, the elemental crown above his head."
"No, he’s a king; he is now Elemental Transcendent."
[Doru the High-Rank Archaic Spirit has advanced to Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit!]
[Doru has received a new title, Doru the Elemental Transcendent!]
"But why? Why does he turn into an elemental, from a golem that is made of black rock?" Vandir was curious again. This time he was questioning the advancement itself, the System.
"He is a golem; he doesn’t have a bloodline. So what inspired that evolution?"
The answer to that question was actually easier: "Me. Maybe it’s my influence that affects his advancement. While I haven’t mastered all those elements he has, I do have them. I still have the skill Master of Elemental Manipulation."
As he said that, he pulled out the Earth, forming a wall. Then he created water out of nothing but his energy. He then pointed his index finger at Vandir, zapping the skeleton with black lightning.
Vandir rubbed his white skeleton where he was zapped by the lightning. That zap gave him a little jolt.
"Now it makes sense. It’s not just utter nonsense. Since our Dour is so reliant on you and Zara, he might be influenced by you and her." He paused as the orbs in his eyes flickered. "Now I kinda want to pick off one of his blocks even though I am not a mage. I wonder if it can be used on something. Maybe I can use it on my undead too..."
Zara appeared behind Vandir, and she slapped him. The Death King couldn’t react in time and was slapped on the back of his head.
"You will have to fight me first, and I will fight you until one of us dies if you dare forcefully take one of his blocks!" That was a warning, a serious one, not an act or a joke.
"Count me too. Fighting him seems fun, and he has a lot of undead too. Losing a few should not be an issue," Avyn joined in.
Vandir waved his hand at the two crazy women. "No. I am not interested anymore. It’s not worth the trouble."
"Alright, who’s next?" Tang Shaoyang clapped his hands to get their attention. Doru was the eighth advancement, with the remaining materials. He was supposed to have enough for another seven advancements.
"This is supposed to be quick, but it’s almost two hours already. I want to return for lunch and play with my daughters. We have to leave tomorrow!"
"Then why don’t you advance two or three spirits at the same time? That might be quicker, no?" Vandir truly had a brilliant mind. That didn’t cross his mind before, mostly because he wanted to watch the advancement.
"But what if the phenomenon clashed? Will it destroy the surroundings? What if the advancement clashed and ended up in failure?" Zara brought up a valid point there.
"Let’s do it one by one then, so next?"
"Next are your five knights. We have agreed upon this. Since they often accompany the human settlement, they needed to be upgraded. They needed to be stronger and become more reliable."
The five knights were the title given to a group of five spirits comprised of Jovrick the Forsaken Infernal Knight, Gianni the Hurakan Legion Commander II, Nikolas the Hurakan Legion Commander IV, Mathias the Hurakan Legion Commander VI, and Ruben the Valiant Soldier.
They were human, and Jovrick was formerly human as well. He could still do a human cover-up. They were the latter additions to the spirit compared to a few others such as Malki the Inferno Blade Emperor or Galeon the Archdemon. But he actually agreed with them to prioritize these five despite being later additions.
"The first one is Jovrick!"
