Chapter 474: A matter of survival *
Caius’s entire being rejoiced as the richness of Arlette’s blood flowed down his gullet. He reveled in the taste, his nose became steeped in the scent and his Evolution was quick to snap up the Evolution charge within.
"Mmnghh," Arlette moaned as Caius siphoned from her but she felt the fervor of his feeding already reducing even though he had only had his fangs in her neck for about a minute or so.
And then he began to pull up off her neck.
"Oh no, you don’t," Kaya said then, her arm tightening around his neck while she used her grip on his hair to pull him to try and keep his fangs inside of her.
"Hmm?" Caius let out in surprise but Arlette was taking advantage of her superior strength to keep him right where he was so he couldn’t use actual words to express his confusion.
"Keep going," Arlette said, "Don’t stop on my account."
This time, Caius stopped. While Arlette might be able to keep his fangs inside her neck, she couldn’t actually make him feed. Eventually, her grip lessened so he could pull up and look down at her face, an eyebrow raised inquisitively.
Arlette frowned.
"Why did you stop?" She asked.
"I always stop," Caius said with a little confused laugh, "When have I fed to the limit the first time my fangs pierce your neck?"
Even though Arlette had climaxed, there were actually still heights that her pleasure could reach, which meant the charge of arousal within her blood could still grow stronger so a second feed was always required for Caius to get his quota of Evolutionary charge fully.
"Don’t you think your feeding habits should change? You know, given the circumstances," Arlette said then with a pointed look.
Caius understood her and he just chuckled.
"I’m not going to be sucking you dry every day and leave you barely alive just because of some non-existent threat," He said.
"It’s not a non-existent threat," Arlette insisted, "The Task Force is real and we can’t be sure we’ll be able to duck them forever.
When the day comes that we must fight, shouldn’t you at least be strong enough to face them?"
"Well, there’s always..." Caius started.
"Don’t say the ’Leopolds’," Arlette cut in then with wide eyes, "They are not always around you. And much as your father has accepted you for what you are, if things truly come to a head, will the Hellsingers not stand against you?"
Caius said nothing for a few seconds and at first, Arlette thought he looked like he was genuinely giving her words some serious thought, but then he laughed.
"You know, for someone who was against fooling around because of that meeting, you’re being very enthusiastic right now," Caius said in between laughs that did such good things to how his and Arlette’s bodies were connected at the moment.
Arlette had to hold back a moan as hard as she could to not harm the impact of her next words.
"That was a natter of pleasure," she said in a stable voice with her serious expression unchanged,
"This is a matter of survival."
Caius’s expression became a bit more serious now and even though he kept his smile, his words were spoken in a heavy tone to show his stance would not be changed on the matter,
"Even if I were to die, I’m not going to treat you like a tool. My Evolution, that may not even save me come the worst of cases, will not come at the expense of your well-being."
For a full minute, he and Arlette stared into each other’s eyes, neither willing to surrender their current stance because of the legitimate reasons tied to those stances.
Caius’s Evolution/Magic Circle Advancement had indeed stagnated a bit since Lochxen went on holiday. His partners were at their various homes all over the Acheron Empire and he had no ready access to the blood he needed to reach the next stage.
Arlette sustained him very well, especially with how advanced she had become in the use of the Arcane Circle as well as her Magic Circle being higher than his, but that was really only when referring to his feeding. Arlette was always enough to sate his thirst until the next time he needed to feed but trying to advance with just her blood would not only take long but could take a toll on her.
The last thing Caius wanted was to become a burden on her and turn her into nothing more than a blood pack for him to suck on for hours on end for the possible chance of advancing within the month.
"Fine," Arlette eventually said with a scoff as she turned her face to the side,
"You win."
"Was it ever in doubt?" Caius asked with a little laugh and stood up from her.
"Where are you going?" Arlette asked then, turning her eyes back at him to watch as he swung his legs over the side of his bed, looking like he was tensing to stand to his feet.
"We spent far too long on that chat," Caius said lightly, "We really should get ready if we don’t want to be late for that meeting."
Caius stood up, his lean back muscles bunching at his action. He had just taken a step forward when something wrapped around his midsection. He looked down and it was a whip conjured with Dark Magic.
"Oh no, no," Arlette said with her hand raised and the spell circle responsible for the whip stamped against her palm,
"Get back here."
Caius felt himself yanked by the whip and hit the bed before he could even say a word. Instantly, Arlette straddled him, his cock pressed against her ass as she rocked her center against his midsection, the segmentation of his abs affording her enough friction to work herself to a climax if she kept at it long enough.
"I thought punctuality was the order of the day," Caius laughed, affording himself a full look at her trembling breasts.
He had just raised his hands towards those assets when more whips of Dark Magic wrapped around his wrists and pulled them down to the bed. Two more wrapped around his ankles and soon, Caius was spread-eagled, bound down.
"Whoa—" he said pulling at the bounds a little but not looking all that eager to even try to break free.
"Nuh uh," Arlette said and wagged a finger in front of his face, "You can’t get me going just to call it quits prematurely."
"Hey, I’m not complaining," Caius said with a shrug, "I was in a hurry for your benefit. If I had my way, we could skip the meeting and get a recap from Alexia."
"No, we’ll attend," Arlette said, "We have time."
Caius’s eyes twinkled as she used his own words against him. The only thing was, when he said they had time, he had actually been lying and if things had continued, they were surely going to be late.
Still, he saw no reason to make mention of any of that. Especially not when Arlette reached her hands behind herself and stroked the underside of his cock while pressing it against the cleft of her glorious ass.
As she did, Arlette placed her other hand against Caius’s chest, pressing him into the bed and also gaining balance as she moved forward and back, gyrating her wet sex against Caius’s abs and creating a wet streak Caius itched to lap up.
