Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1317: Tatoos

Chapter 1317: Tatoos

Atticus asked Whisker a couple more questions in order to understand the concept properly.

Will Arts turned out to be more simple than he’d have thought. It was just as Whisker had claimed, it was simply imposing his will onto the world.

But instead of simply burning, as that was what his concept represented, he would have to will an action to life.

As with all abilities, Whisker had warned Atticus that it might take a while to get used to a technique. Practice made perfect, like he had said.

They started with a technique Whisker believed Atticus needed more than anything right now. Oath binding.

"The beauty of Will Arts is that you can achieve the same results as any with your own approach," Whisker explained.

"Though it might not look as good as some, it doesn’t mean it’s inferior. Close your eyes and think. Feel with your will. Think about what you want to do, and make it so with your will."

Atticus listened and closed his eyes almost instantly. He began thinking, dissecting Whisker’s words.

’Different approach.’ He understood what Whisker was saying. As he had said earlier, it was simple. All he had to do was focus on the goal and think his way of reaching said goal.

For now, his goal was to bind people and make sure none betrays him regardless of anything. Now, the process...

Minutes passed and Whisker waited patiently. He gently brushed the feathers of the flying beasts around him, looking at Atticus with a smile.

’I wonder how long it’ll take him,’ he thought, smile widening. Though Will Arts should be technically possible by all with Will, it still required skill. And people had never been equal when it came to matters of skill.

Usually, those learning for the first time would begin sloppy and then slowly get used to it, but Whisker knew better than to compare Atticus to the norms.

’With a will as strong as his, it shouldn’t take long.’

Whisker hadn’t made any comment on Atticus’ will yet. It was because he wanted Atticus to find out himself, during battle.

Regardless, the fact was, though Atticus might be lacking in vastness, Whisker had never seen any new god with such a thick will. Atticus was going to slaughter them at the school.

’I can’t wait,’ Whisker thought with giddy eyes.

A red light bursting from Atticus snapped him out of his thoughts. His eyes focused on Atticus to see the red light gathering in front of him.

’Of course,’ Whisker shook his head. He had not expected anything less.

The crimson light shifted and changed until it became a bright, formless fire that burned with such intensity that the air around it turned distorted.

Whisker hesitated moving towards Atticus. In fact, he held back his joking comments and simply watched.

As Atticus opened his eyes, he turned towards the warriors of Kariot who were watching the whole scene.

They took a step back by sheer instinct, hearts thundering and eyes trembling. Surely Atticus wasn’t planning on using that on them, right?

A single thought, and they found themselves kneeling in front of Atticus, unable to move an inch.

Kancilot was at their forefront, the closest to Atticus. And though the man was a god who had been hardened through constant life and death threats, he still felt his heart lurching and limbs shaking the instant the flames neared him.

The hotness he felt made him feel as though he should have turned to ashes ages ago.

He met Atticus’ eyes and realized that there was no begging. It wouldn’t work.

It was an art that Atticus had only just learned, and it was his fate to be the test subject. If anything should happen, he would be the one to go.

The flaming wave flared and shot towards Kancilot the next moment, engulfing him in a storm of raging fire.

Kancilot expected to feel his body getting ravaged by scorching flames, but all he felt was warmth.

It spread through his body, before converging and settling in his heart. In the next moment, Kancilot felt a sharp pain.

His eyes widened as he clutched his chest, breathing ragged. He had just felt something ingrained in his being.

’No. On my will.’ He realized. Kancilot looked into himself. He could feel some sort of mark had been etched onto his will. He felt like he’d just gotten a tattoo, but on his will.

’Such a thing exists?’ Kancilot’s eyes trembled as he began to realize the implications. He could feel an inexplicable connection to Atticus, like he was his slave.

And the fact was, the binding had been done on his will. There was nothing more final than that.

More flames burst out from Atticus before shooting towards Lancaster and the other circle members. They went through the same series of warmth and realization, eventually ending with their bodies shaking.

Atticus swept his gaze over the group. There was a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.

"Nicely done," Whisker said with a smile, finally approaching him. His beasts had long since taken off into the sky, most fearful of Atticus.

"Thank you for this."

Atticus’s words made Whisker pause. His wide eyes focused on Atticus, wondering if he’d heard wrong.

But when he received Atticus’ calm stare in return, he realized that Atticus had actually just thanked him. He smiled sheepishly and waved.

"Haha, it’s nothing."

"Are you blushing?"

Whisker cleared his throat in an instant, gaze turning downward. He tried to search for time to regain his composure.

"Whisker Von Pounce, blush? Haha, never."

"Hm." Atticus didn’t look convinced. "To think you make fun of Ozeroth when you’re just like him."

Whisker was desperate to change the topic.

"Alright, alright. Let’s move to more important matters," he said, earning a mocking shake of head from Atticus.

The Kariot circle members had already begun standing up. For warriors, they’d become used to accepting reality for what it was. Now, they were this child’s slaves. No helping it.

"What important matters? Do you have more information?"

"More like bad news."
