Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1320: Time

Chapter 1320: Time

“Fight?” Atticus feigned surprise. “Fight who? Did anyone do anything to you? Just tell me the name…”

“No, no, baby. No one touched me.” Anastasia grabbed his arms and looked into his eyes.

“I’m tired of sitting on the sidelines and hoping that you, your father, and grandpa will be alright. I’m tired of being the one left out. Let me join in.”

Atticus’ eyes darkened. “But Mom, your talent…”

“You’re a god. I’m sure there’s something you can do about that.”

Anastasia was still at Master+ rank. When the mana density increased, she hadn’t been affected much. Her talent was never meant to go beyond that level. But as a god… Atticus could most likely change that.

The only question was, should he?

He looked at his mother. Doing this would put her in harm’s way. Avalon and Magnus could at least handle themselves. But Anastasia… she was different.

Atticus sighed. ‘I don’t have a choice.’

She had that same look she always had when she forced him to attend banquets. She’d already made up her mind. And honestly, he had no right to stop her.

“Okay, Mom.”

He felt her clutch him tighter. She was clearly happy.

“When do you want to do—”

“Right now.”

Atticus didn’t get the chance to respond. She dragged him into the mansion and to her room.

Luckily, no one else was home, just her and Noctis. Atticus realized that probably played a part in her decision.

She hardly saw her family anymore. He was always training. So were Avalon, Magnus, and the others. The only quiet time she ever had was during the rare family meals.

Anastasia sat expectantly on her bed, a small smile on her face.

“Mom, are you sure about this?” Atticus asked.

“I am, baby.”

Anastasia might not have been a god, but she could see the worry in his face. She smiled. “You’re worried?”

“Yes, Mom,” Atticus said plainly. He decided to be direct. “We’ve just ascended to the middle planes. I don’t even know how many enemies we’re up against. I don’t like the thought of you being out there.”

“Me too.”

Atticus wasn’t caught off guard. He knew what she was trying to say and he knew she would take this approach.

“You fighting out there makes me more worried than you can imagine. It’s worse when I sit here, hoping you’ll come back alive. It’s not just you, baby. I’m worried too. And being of any use to you will help me cope with it.”

Atticus’ expression had already hardened.

“But—”

“I know. I could die.” Anastasia cut in. “There’s nothing I can say about that except, just make me so overpowered I don’t die. You’ll do that for your mom, right?”

Atticus tried not to smile. It was dangerous territory, after all.

He had layered defensive runes all around this hill, enough to trouble even gods. But if she wasn’t here…

Regardless, her warm smile and determined gaze broke through his resistance.

Atticus finally nodded and stepped forward. “This might hurt.”

She nodded without flinching. Her expression was serious.

Atticus spent the next few hours boosting her talent. The major reason it took so long was because it was his first time attempting something like this.

Avalon had been different, he already had the talent and just needed a push.

But Anastasia’s case was different as he had to increase her talent entirely.

That meant understanding how talent was measured, which was simply by how well the body responded to mana.

Anastasia’s body had already hit its limit and it couldn’t absorb or store any more mana.

So to change that, Atticus had to enhance her body’s receptivity.

He did what only a god could do.

He rewrote her foundation. Refined her mana channels. Altered her cells to better receive mana. Expanded her core. With all of this, her body evolved beyond its natural limits.

When he was done, he didn’t leave. He sat cross legged in the corner and meditated. He wanted to stay with her until she woke up.

Noctis, instead, slept by her side. He could tell she’d gone through a lot, and he wanted to be there for her.

Atticus used the time to ground himself. As night fell, Avalon and Magnus returned and found Atticus watching over her.

After he explained what happened, they both showed the same emotion, worry.

Avalon joined Atticus in the room, waiting for his wife to wake up. He’d never seen his father so anxious. Atticus had to assure him that everything would be fine.

It took all night for Anastasia’s body to accept the change. And by morning, when her eyes flickered open, she was surprised to see her son and husband staring at her.

“Honey, you’re awake,” Avalon said, visibly relieved as he helped her sit up on the bed and hugged her.

She looked dazed. She spotted Atticus behind him, smiling faintly.

“How do you feel?”

Avalon stepped back, also examining her. She seemed… different.

Atticus noticed first. She looked younger, like she was in her twenties. Her skin was flawless, her blonde hair softly glowing. Her eyes were more piercing than usual.

But what caught his attention most was the mana. Before, it had stagnated around her, but now, it surged toward her like she was a black hole.

“I feel… good,” Anastasia said, beginning to check herself. But before she could finish, a wave of energy surged through her.

“I think I’m advancing.”

She looked at Avalon and Atticus.

They both exchanged a glance, then backed up to give her space. They realized what was happening immediately.

She was forming a domain.

Atticus noticed his father smiling and even he couldn’t hide his joy. Those it was a dangerous territory, it was still a happy moment.

Time passed, and Anastasia remained in that state for a full week.

When she emerged, she had successfully formed her domain and had ascended into the Grandmaster- rank.

A banquet was held to celebrate her accomplishment immediately. But afterward, Atticus found himself once again floating in the skies of Eldoralth, eyes distant and fixed on the horizon.

‘It’s time to go to school.’
