Chapter 749: Decisive Battles Begins
Chapter 749: Decisive Battles Begins
The war room was no longer the same room they had been standing in a few minutes ago.
The atmosphere had become extremely heavier. The war was finally reaching very dangerous levels, to a point where it could determine the outcome of this war sooner or later.
The Everlight Moon Guild, even though they weren’t as prepared as the Goblin Guild, it wasn’t like they wanted to pull back after coming this far.
They might be destroyed forever today or tomorrow, or on the contrary, win and become the strongest Guild in the country.
"The enemy array is complete," Eliera said in a serious voice without taking her eyes off the data even for a moment.
Silence fell. All eyes went to the massive map in the middle of the room.
But this time, the map wasn’t just showing glowing points of forces. Massive... complex... and intertwined lines covered the entire Everlight Moon Guild region.
Like a very large and complex network, the enemy had managed to set up the array, something that could give them a very big advantage.
And unfortunately they hadn’t been able to stop it.
"This isn’t just an ordinary array... it’s covering the entire region," Eliera continued, her voice calm but heavy.
She was angry that they had noticed this array so late. How had they not even been able to stop the setup of an array in their own territory?
This level of enemy infiltration was very annoying, and the reason for most of these infiltrations was their hiding items.
If it weren’t for Daniel’s warning, they wouldn’t have realized even now that an array had been set up in their region, and that could have been a disaster.
"Mana enhancement... disruption of senses... restriction of movement..." She moved her hand and zoomed in on several sections.
"These are just some of the abilities of this array and they... have turned this place into their own battlefield."
A few seconds of absolute silence passed, then Varenos took a deep breath and his gaze left the map.
Unfortunately this was something that had already been done and couldn’t be stopped. Now that things had come this far, they could only move forward with it and find a way during the battle.
He himself knew that this was a disaster and a huge embarrassment.
"...So it has started." Without hesitation, without pause, his voice echoed throughout the room.
"Emergency situation... final level."
The pressure in the space changed, and this wasn’t just an order. This... was the announcement of the end of the previous stage of the war.
"All restrictions are lifted." His eyes darkened.
"Commanders... prepare to enter the battle." His gaze passed over each individual.
"This is the moment that decides... which Guild remains."
No one objected and no one asked any questions, because everyone knew this moment was irreversible.
And none of them were scared either. It was a bad situation, it was possible that today would be the last day of their lives, but they had no plans to give up or run away.
They owed this Guild a great deal. Where they were today, the power they had today, they owed it all to this Guild.
And they were willing to fight for it until the last moment.
"They activated the array, which means their commanders are entering," Varenos continued quickly and moved his hand over the map.
"We won’t let them focus." His gaze became more serious.
Now that they hadn’t been able to stop the array, they would disrupt the enemy’s military formations through other means. It would cause more trouble, but it wasn’t like they had any other choice.
"We’ll divide the battles."
"You want to pull them into the void?" Sarah said calmly.
"Exactly." Varenos nodded.
"This city can’t withstand this level of power."
A battle between S-ranks had the power to destroy cities. If the battle wasn’t pulled into the void, it could destroy the entire capital, and that could cause intervention from other forces, and he didn’t want that.
"They’re coming," Eliera suddenly said at that moment.
All eyes returned to the map. Four points, four massive presences from four different directions.
The mana around them could even be felt from the map.
"Four commanders... each with a legion of peak A-ranks," Eliera continued.
It was clear they were prepared and had come for a very large-scale attack, a strike that could probably lead to the destruction of all the infrastructure of the Everlight Moon Guild.
Outside, the sky split open and four pillars of mana pressure descended from above. The ground beneath their feet cracked and the sky began to tremble.
And behind them, the legions – Awakened with auras that each one could change an entire battlefield on their own.
And now dozens of them were here. Without any warning or extra words, the attack began.
But not in the form of a blind wave, but targeted. The legions rushed toward support points, scattered forces, and vital paths.
Every movement was calculated. They had come to break the structure.
In the war room, Varenos said without a moment’s delay.
"Split up."
"Each of you... take one." His gaze went toward the commanders.
"Finally our turn," Darius smiled, a harsh smile.
He had been waiting from the beginning of the battle until now for a chance to enter the fight and slaughter the enemies with his own hands, and now he had finally gotten this opportunity.
How could he not be happy? He would slaughter those bastards who had dared to assault their Guild!
"It was overdue," Aaron nodded calmly.
"Coordinate with me," Sarah took a deep breath.
"I’ll manage the data from there," Eliera paused for a moment, but then her gaze sharpened.
In the field, the first collision happened, and at that moment space broke like glass being crushed under pressure.
The sky cracked, and at every point where a commander reached an enemy commander, a rift opened.
The void.
Darius attacked toward one of the commanders with a short laugh, and at the moment of collision both were swallowed into a rift of light and darkness.
Aaron raised his shield, deflected a wave of mana, and then pulled himself into the void.
Sarah disappeared among lines of light. Her presence was barely traceable.
And Eliera stood for a moment, her eyes scanning the data, and then... took a step forward and sank into the rift.
In just a few seconds, four separate battlefields formed.
Four battles at a level that this world could barely withstand.
Inside the Guild, the enemy legions were still moving, and even without their commanders, their rhythm hadn’t changed in the slightest.
And in the war room, silence returned. Varenos stood alone, his gaze on the map but his focus... somewhere else.
At a very distant point, he could feel a very powerful presence, a presence that was not only not weaker than his own but it wouldn’t be wrong to say it was even stronger.
The presence of the strongest known S-rank in the country, the leader of the Goblin Guild.
But Alaric hadn’t made any move. It wasn’t clear why, but it seemed he still had no plans to act himself.
It seemed he was waiting.
But waiting for what? This was something that probably only he knew.
Varenos didn’t move either. He kept the entire battlefield under supervision.
The decisive battles had finally begun.
