Chapter 756: The Battle Of Leaders II
Chapter 756: The Battle Of Leaders II
Collision.
There was no distance between them.
The moment Varnos took that step forward, space broke, not with sound, not with light, but conceptually. As if reality itself had become too thin to withstand the presence of these two.
And then the void swallowed it.
The battle was pulled into the void. There was no sky left, no ground. Only endless darkness, trembling cracks in space, and waves of mana twisting like storms in every direction.
Every movement, every breath, every clash seemed to stop time for a moment.
Varnos made the first attack.
Because of the serum he couldn’t use the Moon Law or his skills, at least not in the normal way.
Fortunately he was currently at home, inside the Everlight Moon Guild, where he could use his trump cards for help.
And one of these trump cards was the Moon Tree in the Guild’s private dimension. As long as he stayed within a certain range, he could directly borrow power from the Moon Tree and use the Moon Law and his skills through it.
Of course there were still many limitations and he wasn’t at his peak, and the price of using it was very high.
For every bit of power he borrowed, a portion of his own power would be devoured and lost by the tree.
That meant the longer this battle dragged on, the more power he would lose, to the point where he might even drop from S-rank all the way down to A-rank.
His body was covered in a faint moonlight glow. His muscles tensed, and his fist shot toward Alaric with a force that could destroy an entire city.
His skill activated.
[Moonlight Reinforcement]
Moonlight flowed inside his body. His veins took on a cold glow, and the power he gained even pushed the void back for a moment.
But at the moment of impact, there was nothing to break.
Alaric didn’t move. The space in front of him bent and then... disappeared.
[Void Consumption]
Varnos’s fist, with all its power, was swallowed before it could reach its target. It wasn’t stopped or deflected, it was erased from existence.
The force vanished as if it had never existed.
Varnos’s eyes narrowed.
Without pausing, he spun, slammed his foot hard onto the unstable space, and in the same moment a crescent slash of moonlight tore through the void.
[Crescent Sever]
A blade of light cut through space like thin cloth and went straight toward Alaric. Its path wasn’t straight, space itself was twisting, but the slash passed through all the distortions.
Alaric stepped back, but only one step.
The space behind him collapsed and his body slipped into the darkness.
[Abyss Step]
It wasn’t movement... not normal teleportation. He stepped through the void and appeared from another point, right behind Varenos.
Strike.
There was no extra motion in it.
Just pressure.
[Dark Collapse]
A single point of space, exactly behind Varnos’s back, compressed. Not outward, but inward. Then in one instant, that pressure was released.
Explosion.
But not from the outside, from inside reality itself.
The battle between the two had completely gone beyond normal levels. Every attack could directly damage the fabric of the world.
If this battle had taken place outside the void, nothing would have remained of the capital. It might even have destroyed the rest of the cities in the country, leaving nothing of the entire nation.
Varnos’s body was thrown forward and the moonlight on his body flickered for a moment.
He didn’t fall. In the void there was no such thing as ground, but his balance broke for a second.
His breathing grew heavy. The serum was still inside him and the array was still pressing down on him. He knew he couldn’t use his full power and the Moon Tree could only help to a certain extent.
Should he also attack that array? Maybe by destroying the array he could change the entire flow of the battle.
Not just the battle, the entire flow of the war would change, and it would be a huge help to Daniel and the other Guild commanders. Their chance of victory would increase dramatically.
But Varnos took a deep breath. Doing that wouldn’t be possible. That array had its own defensive system, and it wasn’t like Alaric would just stand there and watch him do it.
And so he attacked again, this time faster and without pause.
His strikes came one after another, each one capable of breaking space. Moonlight rippled around him, and every movement left a cold trail in the void.
In one moment, a direct strike to Alaric’s chest.
But once again he missed and hit the void.
[Void Consumption]
The attack disappeared.
Varnos changed direction without pause, sent the second strike from an unexpected angle, then the third, but every time the result was the same.
Alaric, like a shadow that didn’t exist, swallowed all of them.
But this time he didn’t just defend.
The space around Varnos changed.
[Black Domain Fragment]
A part of the void became darker. Heavier. As if it had connected to another world. Movement in that section became slower, and the pressure on the body multiplied.
Varnos felt it. His body became heavier and his movement slowed down drastically.
And at that moment the pressure came.
[Eternal Night Pressure]
Not a single strike.
Not an explosion.
But a constant, endless pressure that settled on his body and mind. The pressure was beyond anything that could be understood, as if it was pressing directly on his existence.
To the point where he felt he might collapse at any moment.
But he didn’t retreat.
[Silent Full Moon]
The moonlight around him settled calmly. Sounds disappeared. Mana fluctuations decreased, and his mind became clear for a few moments.
He focused again and attacked. This time everything in one point, his fist, the power of the moon, all his physical strength, he put everything into it.
Collision.
For a moment the void broke, but only for a moment.
Alaric raised his hand and this time he didn’t defend.
[Void Rend]
The space in the path of Varenos’s fist... tore apart, not broken but separated.
Varnos’s attack was deflected and at the same moment the strike returned.
Varnos’s body was directly pulled into that rift and then thrown out with several times the force.
Collision.
This time there was ground, or something like it, and it shattered.
Varenos was slammed down hard.
Cracks spread through the void. A wave of mana exploded around him, and the moonlight around him went out for a moment.
His body was wounded and bleeding from everywhere. His eyes could barely see, and in fact he felt that one of his eyes had gone blind.
But he was still alive.
The sound of a footstep echoed in the void. Alaric approached and his gaze fell on Varenos.
"With this... you wanted to stop me and win?" he said with mockery and contempt.
Varnos didn’t answer. His body was still trying to move, but the pressure... was heavier than that.
Alaric tilted his head slightly and his eyes narrowed for a moment.
"Don’t worry. After killing you, I’ll go after your daughters and send them to you soon. The family will be together again after death."
