Chapter 769: Three Month Later ( Finale )

Daniel’s hand stayed suspended in front of the door for a few moments, then he knocked gently.

The short sound of the knock echoed in the quiet alley and very soon the door opened with a soft sound. One of the house servants, wearing neat clothes and with a calm face, slightly bowed his head.

"Mr. Daniel."

Daniel just nodded and stepped inside.

Varnos’s house, despite its healthy appearance, had a strange feeling. Everything was tidy, the walls had been repaired, and mana flowed calmly in the air... but beneath this calm, a faint emptiness could be felt. As if something that used to fill this space was no longer there.

This wasn’t the first time he had come here. During the past three months, he had come here many times for different matters, mostly to talk about the damage done to the Guild and to discuss ways to find solutions for them.

Daniel walked through the hallway without pausing and reached the main room.

The door was half-open. He pushed it and entered.

Varnos was standing next to the window. The faint evening light shone from behind him and cast his shadow on the floor.

His body looked healthy. No signs of the wounds from that day remained... but something in his presence had changed.

That heavy pressure that once made even breathing difficult was no longer there.

"You survived," Daniel took a few steps forward and said with a teasing tone.

"Barely," Varnos gave him a quick glance and smiled very faintly.

A few seconds of silence settled between them. Not heavy, not comfortable. Just real.

Daniel looked at him more carefully. For him, seeing the changes was not hard. He sighed.

He knew how much pressure and depression the Guild leader was living under. Apart from losing his power, the death of the commanders and Awakened of the Guild was not something that could be ignored.

He still blamed himself for everything that had happened, even though from Daniel’s point of view he had no fault at all. There was nothing he needed to take responsibility for or feel guilty about.

The Goblin Guild had prepared for that war for years, and no decision from Varnos could have changed it. Still, even though he knew all of this, he continued to blame himself.

"I’ve told you many times, but it wasn’t your fault."

"Maybe," Varnos let out a short sigh and moved away from the window.

"Right now... I’m at most a peak A-Rank," he took a few steps forward, sat on the chair, and continued.

"I’ve also lost my position among the leaders of the country." There was no obvious bitterness in his voice. But there was no satisfaction either. Just... acceptance.

"We’ve talked about this many times. Sooner or later we’ll find a way for you to return to your peak," Daniel replied.

He was sure that in this vast world, or even in the Celestial Domain, there had to be something that could help this man.

In fact, he thought it was impossible for such a thing not to exist.

Varnos looked down for a moment, then stared outside again.

"I want to go to the Celestial Domain."

The room became quieter for a moment. This decision was not simple. Varnos was the Guild leader. Even though he was planning to hand over the position to Lana, his presence was still very important in any case.

His departure could damage the Guild, especially now that the Guild was facing both its greatest opportunity and its most critical situation.

"How long will it take?" Still, Daniel knew he couldn’t stop him and didn’t want to do that either.

"Until I find a way," Varnos answered without turning his gaze back.

"Or... until I realize there is no way."

This time the silence became heavier.

The Celestial Domain was not a place someone entered for fun. Every step there could take years. Or take your life. Especially now that he was a peak A-Rank, the dangers could be even greater.

Daniel looked at him but didn’t object. This choice made sense and could give him a reason to stay alive and keep living, so he not only didn’t stop him but supported him.

Even if he wasn’t there, or even if both of them weren’t there, Lana, Naya, and Schnitez were still here and would take care of the Guild.

"What about you?" Varnos finally turned his gaze back. He wasn’t stupid either and knew that this young man’s ambitions were bigger than wanting to stay here.

"I want to go to the fourth floor of the Tower and after that... the Central Continent."

Varnos’s eyes narrowed for a moment. Not from surprise, but from understanding. His guess had been right. For this young man, this country was like a cage, a cage that would stop his growth.

A genius like Daniel needed to see the world and shouldn’t be limited to one place. Only this way would he reach the peak of his potential.

But there was a problem.

"I support your decision and understand it," Varnos said, "but don’t you think you’re moving too fast?"

No matter what, Daniel was only 20 years old. Even though he was powerful enough, he might not have enough experience yet.

And as someone who had been to the Central Continent, Varnos could say that besides all its opportunities, it was a very dangerous place.

"I don’t have time," Daniel shrugged slightly and gave no further explanation. There was no need.

"The Guild needs stability without us," Varnos took a calm breath, shook his head slightly, and then changed the subject.

"Its structure is still solid. But we need to strengthen it quickly."

"The surrounding areas need to be stabilized. The forces need to be reorganized." His gaze became serious.

"And most importantly..." he added.

"It needs to become official." He looked straight into Daniel’s eyes.

"Official?" Daniel asked with surprise.

"The strongest Guild in the country." Varnos’s voice was calm, but there was no doubt in it.

"Not just in practice, but on paper too." Daniel nodded to show he understood.

For a few seconds, they just looked at each other. This was no longer just survival. This... was dominance. Right now, there was no Guild that could match them.

After swallowing and obtaining all the assets of the Goblin Guild, their wealth and capital had reached an enormous level.

The only problem was the number of Awakened, which was also solvable. After that, Daniel shared the ideas he had in mind and listened to Varnos’s opinions about them.

He even gave a little information about the Eternity Religion and steered the discussion toward it. Varnos had no problem with it and said this matter should also be discussed with Lana and Schnitez.

Then suddenly the sound of the door opening made them go silent.

"Ah— Daniel!"

Both of them turned toward the voice.

Naya entered.

Her hair had grown a little longer, her gaze was brighter, and her steps were full of energy. But that energy was no longer childish. Inside her, something had taken shape.

Daniel kept his gaze fixed on her. And for a moment... he paused.

"...You too?"

"What did you think?" Naya put her hand on her waist with a proud smile.

"A-Rank," Daniel said quietly.

"Haha, well I can’t fall behind my sister," Naya nodded with pride.

Varnos chuckled under his breath but said nothing.

Daniel stayed silent for a moment. This girl had grown far too much mentally after the hostage incident. It could be said that she had reached mental and emotional maturity.

She was no longer the little girl he had seen the first time, but an A-Rank Awakened who would soon become one of the Guild’s commanders.

The people around him... were growing faster than before, but the feeling... was strange. It wasn’t a feeling of competition, just... distance. Even though they were growing at such speed, the gap between him and all of them was still far too big.

"What happened with the Queen of Spirits?"

"Of course I made a contract with her." Naya’s eyes sparkled a little.

She stepped closer and added,

"And I even got three more high-level spirits."

She raised her hand and a thin flow of mana took shape in the air.

"One wind, speed and cover." An invisible flow twisted around her fingers.

"One water, healing and control." Small droplets floated in the air.

"And one shadow." The space became slightly darker for a moment.

"It’s not fully tamed yet... but it knows what to do. With the Queen’s help, I can easily control all of them."

"I’m truly grateful from the bottom of my heart. If it wasn’t for you, I would never have been able to make a contract with the Queen."

"Not bad," Daniel looked carefully and nodded.

"It will be better next time," Naya smiled.

A few moments of silence settled between them and Daniel finally pulled back.

"I should go."

"Stay alive," Varnos simply said. Naya didn’t understand why her father said that, but she waved at Daniel with a smile.

Daniel didn’t reply. He just gave a short look to both of them and left the room. A few minutes later, he was standing outside the house.

Night had fully arrived. The air had become cool, and the city had fallen into relative silence.

Daniel took a few steps forward, but suddenly stopped.

He raised his head and looked at the sky. The stars were dim, but they were there. He took a calm breath.

And then he disappeared from his spot.
