Chapter 834: Cooking for a Saintness
Chapter 834: Cooking for a Saintness
“My Lord, the lady is currently with the Emperor. I will inform you when she returns,” Rynor added.
“Then don’t forget, and contact me as soon as possible.” And then he directly cut off the Fallen Vision and the connection.
Daniel stared at the empty space before him for a few more seconds.
The night breeze passed through the open window of the room, gently moving the white curtains, while the lights of the holy city shone in the distance like scattered stars on the ground.
But his mind was no longer here, and now he had more important matters to think about.
Ilaris… He still remembered the story of how he met that girl. In fact, it was quite an amazing story. In a way, he had killed her father.
Of course, the story wasn’t that simple, but that was the gist of it. And surprisingly, not only did that girl not hate him, but in the end, she left that forest with him and stepped into the real world.
At first, she was a shy girl who could hardly connect with others. Then she met Andreas and spent a long time with him, living together.
And then, because of his suggestion, that girl returned to the elf lands. Of course, she had no choice; she had to go back sooner or later because the elves were looking for her.
And now? One of the four main candidates for succession to the elven empire. Not because of military support, not because of political power, and not even because of Daniel’s help and support, but because of the direct acknowledgment of the World Tree.
The corner of Daniel’s mouth rose slightly.
“Good. Much better than I expected.”
If needed, he would help her. If Ilaris could take control of the entire elf leadership, that would be very good for Daniel as well. Practically, the elves would become another great ally of the Eternity religion.
Two great races of the world allied with the Eternity religion.
He had cut off the connection with Rynor, but his last words still lingered in his mind: “May the gods help the elves.”
He laughed involuntarily. Rynor was right. If he had to intervene, the elf lands might also become full of chaos.
He shook his head, then moved away from the window. He had more important work tonight.
A few seconds later, his body faded in light, the space of the room collapsed, and the world changed. When he reappeared, the salty smell of the sea was in the air.
The sound of waves could be heard in the distance, and the vast night sky was spread above him.
The Gulf of Sumer. He went to the place where the first holy city of the Eternity religion, Evangelin’s first home, the first church of Eternity, had stood.
And now it was ruins. Dry, cracked earth stretched to the horizon. The wind howled among the broken stones.
Thousands of years of dust had settled on the remains of buildings that were once the center of one of the world’s greatest religions, and now nothing remained of it.
No sound, no light, no sign of life. It was clearly abandoned.
Daniel stood there for a long time, looking at the forgotten ruins, at the place where once thousands of believers had prayed.
At the place where Evangelin had grown up, where everything had begun.
Finding this place was not difficult for him with his current level of power. With the help of the Law of Death, he could track the death of anything related to him.
And the Eternity religion was closely connected to him, who was Eternity itself, and this was the place where the Eternity religion had practically died in history.
He took a deep breath, then raised his hand. At that moment, the dark sky trembled. Massive waves of divinity were released from his being.
The ground began to glow. Buried stones emerged from the soil. Dust moved aside, cracks closed. The ruins began to rebuild themselves.
Massive columns rose from the ground. Broken walls took shape again. Stained glass windows appeared. Forgotten hallways came to life.
As if time had returned thousands of years.
The Church of Eternity.
In all its former glory. Majestic, sacred, and massive! A building that had been destroyed centuries ago now stood once again under the moonlight.
He could have rebuilt the entire city as well, but there was really no need for that.
Daniel looked at it, then quietly entered the courtyard. He walked a few steps forward until he reached a point overlooking the gulf.
There, the view was best. The full moon was reflected on the water’s surface. The waves shimmered like molten silver.
As far as he remembered, there was no water here before. But gradually, with the fall of civilizations in this region, conflicts and wars between powerful beings that had caused the ground to subside, the water had also advanced.
Daniel waved his hand. A wooden table appeared, two chairs, simple and unadorned, but placed at the best possible spot.
Where the moonlight on the water, the sky, and the church aligned in a single line. He looked at the result of his work for a few seconds, then nodded.
“Not bad.” And then he disappeared.
The next moment, he appeared in the middle of the gulf. The dark waters rippled gently beneath his feet. He released his divine sense, covering the entire gulf in an instant.
And very soon, he found two massive presences. In the depths of the darkness, two suitable prey. The first was a Leviathan Serpent.
A sea serpent several hundred meters long, covered in black scales.
And the second…
An Abyssal Tide Drake.
A legendary creature with a body resembling sea dragons and the power to destroy warships in seconds.
For most countries, hunting one of these was a legend. For Daniel, it took no more than a few minutes.
A brief light shone in the darkness, the sound of a massive explosion was heard, the sea split, and moments later, two giant carcasses lay on the shore.
Daniel skillfully began preparing them. The scales were removed, the valuable meat was separated.
Then, from among hundreds of different ingredients, he chose the best spices he knew. He changed his mind several times.
He checked the flavors again and even frowned for a moment.
“I hope it’s edible.”
A few seconds later, a flame appeared in his palm.
The Primordial Flame. Fire capable of burning worlds. But Daniel reduced its destructive power to almost zero, about 99.99%.
Yet the remaining heat was still greater than that of ordinary suns. To ensure the meat wouldn’t be destroyed, he placed a thin layer of divine energy over it.
Then the meat was placed over the fire. A gentle sizzling sound echoed in the space, and an extraordinary aroma slowly spread through the air.
And time passed.
When everything was ready, night had fully fallen.
The moon shone at its zenith, and the Gulf of Sumer under its silver light looked like a forgotten dream.
Daniel took one last look at the table and the food, then disappeared. The next moment, he appeared above the holy city.
The city lights shone beneath his feet.
The church bells rang softly in the distance, and the city’s atmosphere seemed calmer and more sacred than ever.
He moved toward the central tower, passing through the bright hallways.
He passed by guards who didn’t even notice his presence, climbed the stairs.
Until finally he reached the door he had left a few hours ago.
The saint’s office. He paused for a few seconds, then knocked quietly.
Evangelin’s voice was heard from inside.
“It’s open.”
Daniel turned the handle, the door opened, and for a few moments, he truly stopped.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment. Not because of power or a law or anything like that, but simply because of the sight before him.
Evangelin was not at her desk. She was standing by the window. The moonlight streamed through the glass into the room, falling on her white hair.
Her usual veil was absent. Her long hair flowed freely over her shoulders.
The clothes she wore were simple, but clearly prepared for a dinner. And that simplicity made her beauty stand out even more.
Daniel unintentionally stared at her for a few seconds longer than usual.
And Evangelin, noticing his gaze, tilted her head slightly, her golden eyes resting quietly on Daniel’s face.
“Is there a problem?” Then she asked.
