The police chief’s expression turned grim as he lowered his voice, saying, "Today, the personnel from Yanjing Province who came for an inspection and research stayed at this hotel, and have all been taken hostage. The situation is extremely critical."

Qi Taiguo’s face changed, looking sharply at him, "The Yanjing inspection group?"

The police chief nodded. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so urgent to request support from the army; there’s a provincial secretary inside!

"The list!" Qi Taiguo demanded coldly.

Beside him, someone handed over a list. Qi Taiguo took it, his breath catching as he glanced over it.

It was exactly as he imagined. This inspection group included Chiang Qing and her colleagues, with the highest leader being Secretary Gao.

"Damn it!" Qi Taiguo cursed.

He was upset primarily because of the high-profile nature of the people involved, which allowed no room for failure, thus increasing the pressure of the rescue mission. Another reason was Chiang Qing.

Chiang Qing was the person Qi Taiguo hated most, but now, with her among the hostages, it meant he had to save her.

He despised this woman and wished she would die, yet, ironically, he had to rescue her now.

"Report." A communications soldier carrying a device dashed over with a phone in hand, standing at attention, "Yanjing Provincial Office is calling, requesting to speak with the commander."

Qi Taiguo took the receiver and spoke in a deep voice, "This is Deputy Battalion Commander Qi Taiguo of the Qing City Army Region."

There seemed to be a moment of surprise on the other end.

"Qi Taiguo!"

As soon as Qi Taiguo heard the voice over the phone, his eyes became sharp, squeezing the receiver tightly, with veins bulging.

"Yes!"

Despite his hatred and anger, the person on the other end was his superior, the country’s Commander, so no matter how upset or angry, he had to respond.
