Chapter 1385: Chapter 1386: Our Pig Rooting in Someone Else’s Cabbage Is Still a Win

Qi Taiguo first settled Mother Qi and the others, then he entered the room. Seeing Cheng Su lying on her side, he closed the door and walked over.

"What’s wrong? Are you angry?" Sitting on the edge of the bed, Qi Taiguo placed his hand on her waist and asked.

Cheng Su pushed his hand away, puffed her cheeks, sat up angrily, and glared at him, "You’re domineering, I’m really not happy right now."

Qi Taiguo chuckled, "How am I domineering?"

"You didn’t discuss with me, just let your mom stay here, and even said to celebrate New Year here. You didn’t ask for my opinion at all, you’re authoritarian and tyrannical," snorted Cheng Su.

Qi Taiguo said, "Okay, okay, it’s my fault. Can we talk about it now?"

Cheng Su said nothing.

"In a few days, I have to go for holiday duty, right? Will you be alone? Now you’re vomiting like this, can’t eat anything, and not feeling well. Do you need someone to take care of you?" Qi Taiguo said, "Maybe you might say you’re not even showing yet, but this is a critical time, unstable. Are you really at ease? What if you can’t muster the energy to cook, then what? Eating from the cafeteria every day? You won’t be able to eat that either!"

Cheng Su mumbled, "You always have a reason."

Qi Taiguo laughed, "I’m speaking based on facts here!"

"I’d feel more comfortable on my own," Cheng Su hugged her knees, "Pregnant women have mood swings. If your mom can’t stand it, comments on me, should I bear it or not? If I can’t, I explode, later on it’ll be my fault!"

"Rest assured, you don’t need to bear it. You’re carrying the Qi family’s third generation, a precious grandson. It’s only Mom who has to bear you, not the other way around!" Qi Taiguo laughed.

Cheng Su said, "There you go again. Your mom, always talking about grandson and son; if it’s a girl, guessing she’d turn around instantly."

"Shall I tell her not to say it?" Qi Taiguo laughed, "People in the countryside are like that. Everyone hopes for a boy to carry on the family line, to continue the lineage."

"Boys and girls are the same, both are treasures, both are heritage!" Cheng Su glared, then glanced at him, "You wouldn’t also be thinking of having a son, would you?"

"I do!" Qi Taiguo unhesitatingly admitted, seeing her face change, he added, "But I also like daughters just the same. Having a son, you raise him ruggedly, but a daughter is different; she needs to be nurtured delicately. I won’t lie to you, just thinking about my precious daughter growing up and marrying another man, my heart aches. As the saying goes in the village, ’the cabbage you raised with care gets run over by pigs.’ Doesn’t that make my heart ache? It would make yours ache too, right?"

Cheng Su laughed, hitting the pillow with her hand, "Cabbage run over by pigs, how can you even say that, haha!"

"So having a son is nice too; at least it’s our pigs going to run across other people’s cabbages, no loss!" Qi Taiguo said seriously.

Cheng Su protested, "Calling my son a pig, what kind of a dad are you? You are the pig!"

"Yes, yes, I’m the pig!" Qi Taiguo saw her smile and breathed a sigh of relief, "So is it settled? Let Dad and them come over for New Year, and we’ll enjoy ourselves."

Cheng Su relaxed her shoulders in defeat, "You’ve said it all, what else can I do? But our home is so small, there’s no place for them to stay!"

"Don’t worry, leave that to me!" Qi Taiguo thumped his chest boldly.

Cheng Su cast him a sideways glance, but inside she still felt uneasy. Hope the days ahead aren’t full of chaos.
