Mother Qi on the other end of the line asked, "Whose child is that? So noisy."

"The neighbor’s kid came over to watch TV!" Cheng Su explained blandly.

Hearing this, Mother Qi said, "You have to rest more with your health, don’t always let others come to watch TV or whatever. Electricity costs money, and it disturbs your rest."

"Got it!" Cheng Su quipped and hung up after a couple more words.

"Was it second aunt calling?" Liu Wenjing asked immediately.

Cheng Su nodded: "Don’t worry, she wouldn’t have the magical power to know you’re here."

Liu Wenjing let out a sigh of relief, yet felt a little embarrassed but didn’t say anything.

Cheng Su knew what she was worried about and said, "It’s just a few days, settle down first, find a job, and then go back to apologize!"

Liu Wenjing smiled bitterly, "What face do I have to apologize, chances are she won’t even let me in."

"Things have come to this; in the end, it’s all about compromise." Cheng Su said calmly, then gave her a meaningful look, "It’s just that you’ll have more suffering, especially in the future."

Liu Wenjing bit her lip, understanding what she meant.

No mother can fight her own son, and this matter is no different, especially under the current circumstances. What she can do is compromise.

But compromising doesn’t mean compromising for the daughter-in-law; the daughter-in-law remains an outsider, especially when she’s caused such a disgrace. It’d be surprising if Mother Qi didn’t make Liu Wenjing suffer.
