Not long after Old Master Ning hung up the phone, Ning Ge walked through the door. Seeing him, he laughed and said, "I thought you’d arrive around this time. Xiao Cheng just called."

"Oh? Cheng Su?" Ning Ge tossed aside his luggage and plopped down on the sofa in the living room. He poured himself some tea from the table, took a few sips, and then asked, "Why did she call?"

"What else? Your big brother’s good news. She called to offer congratulations and ask if I’ll be attending her son’s full month celebration." Old Master Ning was in high spirits due to the joyous occasion, his face glowing, and his smile wide.

Ning Ge responded with an "Oh": "Where’s big brother?"

"His appointment letter just got issued; there’s no chance he’d be home now since he’s so busy with work." replied Old Master Ning.

Ning Ge nodded: "The official appointment letter with the red stamp was issued?"

Only with that letter would it be confirmed. Mere verbal notices sometimes could lead to mistakes.

"It’s been issued," Old Master Ning said. "Now it’s already August. The handover in the military district needs handling, and he also needs to make rounds over there. By the time everything is gradually handed over, it will be October already, almost time."

Ning Ge knew Director Wang would officially retire at the end of October, so he sighed in relief and leaned back on the sofa: "Finally, things have settled!"

Old Master Ning also sighed and said: "Yes, your big brother’s affairs are finally settled. Now, the only thing the family needs to worry about is you."

"Little brother, I heard Song Jiaying went on another blind date recently. This time it’s quite remarkable; I heard the guy is a freshly returned medical Ph.D., and quite handsome too." Ning Zhen said slowly, glancing at Ning Ge.

She knew about the awkwardness between the younger brother and Song Jiaying and was quite anxious for the two of them, as one was her best friend and the other her own brother. Considering family, appearance, and education, to her, the two couldn’t be a more fitting couple.

Ning Ge was drinking soup, and upon hearing this, he choked but pretended to be indifferent and said, "Why would her blind dates have anything to do with me? I wish her a swift marriage." But he felt uneasy inside.

Ning Ge opened his mouth and said, "Go ahead, relay my words. Tell her to restrain her temper, stop being so cold-faced like an ice mountain. Who can handle that?"

"Even if she is an ice mountain, there are people who have the wisdom to appreciate and be fond of her—unlike some people who are blind. Hmph!" Ning Zhen retorted.

Ning Ge guiltily lowered his head and continued drinking his soup, thinking to himself, did that girl really go on a blind date?
