Cheng Su brought Qi Fengping to the restaurant, and at the entrance hung a sign with ’Qi Residence Full Moon Feast’ written on it. The seating arrangements were already set, with names indicating who sat where, so guests wouldn’t have trouble finding their places.

"What happened to you? Did you just return from the Capital?" Cheng Su led him to the office to sit down and asked.

Before Ning Ge could reply, Qiulan came over to consult Cheng Su about a dish at tonight’s banquet, saying the pine nuts for the diced meat were over-fried, and asked if they could be replaced with cashews.

Cheng Su furrowed her brow but didn’t object, telling her to go ahead and arrange it.

"Long time no see, Qiulan, you’ve become even more beautiful than before!" Ning Ge teased Qiulan.

Now seeing Ning Ge, Qiulan viewed him almost like her boss, and with a smile, she replied, "You’ve become more composed too!"

"I heard you’re getting married in October?" Ning Ge asked again.

Qiulan nodded, "Yes, and I’m also hosting a banquet at the restaurant. If you don’t mind, come by for a few drinks!" The youthful crush had faded over time, now that I’m getting married, you’re welcome to celebrate!

Ning Ge replied with a laugh, "Alright, even if I can’t make it, my gift will surely be there."

Qiulan nodded with a smile and turned to leave.

Cheng Su had been watching all along, and after she left, sighed, "In the blink of an eye, it’s been a few years. You might not know, but back then Qiulan had a bit of a crush on you!"

Ning Ge almost spewed the tea he just drank, exclaiming, "No way?"

"Am I one to make up stories about such things? You just let a good opportunity slip by!" Cheng Su retorted.

Ning Ge chuckled awkwardly, took another sip of tea, and said, "I guess I wasn’t that fortunate."

Cheng Su knew he was just speaking offhandedly and looked at his expression, asking, "Your older brother has just been promoted, it’s a time to be happy. What’s with that face? Why so upset?"

Ning Ge touched his face, sighed deeply, and said, "Don’t mention it!"

Cheng Su raised her eyebrows.

Ning Ge didn’t say much, just silently brooding. Ever since that girl left him cleaned out, she disappeared without a trace, no matter how much he searched. It was just like he had taken a major loss!

No, he really did take a big loss. I mean, who else sleeps with someone and then takes no responsibility like that wretched girl!

Ning Ge clenched the teacup, grinding his teeth in frustration.

"This teacup is the finest blue and white porcelain, it’s part of a set. If you break it, you won’t find a replacement to pay me back!" Cheng Su joked teasingly.

Only then did Ning Ge realize his knuckles had turned white from gripping the cup so hard, and he sheepishly released it.

"Sometimes I really don’t understand what you women are thinking," he murmured.

"Oh, has Fourth Young Master suddenly understood and wants to figure out a woman’s heart? What’s the matter, having trouble with Miss Song?" Cheng Su asked with a smile.

Ning Ge faltered, "No." After a pause, he added, "It’s not really trouble, just don’t understand what she’s thinking."

"Don’t worry about what women are thinking. If you want something, then work harder for it," Cheng Su said. "There’s a saying, ’If the mountain won’t come to me, I’ll go to the mountain.’

Ning Ge paused, contemplating her words carefully.
